If you enjoy outlet shopping, the Williamsburg Premium Outlets are definitely worth a visit. The…read moreplace is enormous--probably twice the size of any outlet center I've visited in years. Just about every major brand you can think of is here, making it easy to spend several hours shopping if that's your thing. The only downside is the layout. Instead of being designed so you can start at one end and work your way through the entire center--or follow a convenient loop--the stores are spread across multiple sections. We noticed a lot of people parking, visiting a few stores, then getting back in their cars to drive to another section and repeat the process. It doesn't make for the most efficient shopping experience. We happened to visit during a stretch of 100°+ temperatures, so walking from one section to another simply wasn't practical. We visited the stores we wanted to see, then called it a day. In cooler weather, it would be much easier to spend several hours exploring everything the outlets have to offer. Overall, the selection is outstanding. Whether you're looking for clothing, shoes, accessories, home goods, or specialty stores, chances are you'll find what you're looking for. Just plan ahead, wear comfortable shoes, and if you're visiting during the summer, be prepared to use your car to get between sections.

I probably have shopped Williamsburg Premium Outlets over a dozen times. However, it's been over five years, or more. I continue to be impressed with the pure volume of stores and massive real estate it encompasses. I shopped dozens of stores from Gap, Polo, Nautica, American Eagle and many more. It ended up I only purchased from Nautica. I would recommend checking them out.

I…read morehave always enjoyed visiting this location, however today's visit involved a Manager on Duty that did not seem aware of the customer check out process during the day after Christmas shopping. I entered a check out service line and placed the items I wanted to purchase in the conveyor belt (there was only one person in front of me who was checking out). The Manager on Duty came over and spoke to the cashier about covering his break. Meanwhile, more customers entered the line behind me. After watching me place all of my items for purchase, the cashier tells me that she can't check me out because she has to go cover Guest Services. Her announcement was not loud enough for the customers (2-3 people) behind me to hear. This created a check out environment that included one cashier checkout line and the remaining registers were self checkout. The line volume increased and resulted in me leaving the store without making a purchase as I watched the manager on duty walk over and stand in Starbucks as customers looked confused about what happened to the previous checkout line. As someone with Manager on Duty experience in a high volume customer service environment, I realize the importance of awareness during busy time frames. I also understand the importance of not putting employees in situations that results in the loss of business. I hope that Target sees this review and takes a moment to understand how this incident affects the level of customer service that Target customers are accustomed to.

I'm not sure when this one was built in the area, but it looks to be on the newer side. Walking in it was welcoming and made it feel like it was going to be a simple stop. I walked to where the items were that I knew I was going to need. The one item that I was definitely looking for was an air freshener. I was happy to see that not only did they have them in stock, but many to choose from. Unlike other stores of the caliber. The biggest hold up here was the registers. Most people are ushered to the self checkouts. There were not many regular checkouts open. Not everybody knows how to use the self checkouts, so the ushering of the people here kind of made a bottleneck and backup.

We picked 2 items and went to register - by the way there was no line as the store was empty. Cashier looks at the gift box of chocolate and other Christmas item, and states she needs the manager to approve. Manager then comes over to yell at us about customer reclamation project where he accuses every customer of moving merchandise to sales table. I'm sure everyone woke up the morning after Christmas to rush to Homegoods to move merchandise. We asked for them to call District Manager, at which point he again lectures us, but refuses to walk 25 feet to look at the sales table. In my opinion, the way he treated us is because of our race. Maybe it would be in the customers best interest to actually put clearance stickers on the clearance merchandise instead of blaming customers for them not doing their job. Incidentally, don't fall for their credit card - 34.99% interest rate is highway robbery, plus they offer no promotional financing for large purchases.

I was in town on an early Friday night, and the store was EMPTY. Friday late afternoon and early evening in my store is swamped because people want to see what's new. By the end of the day Saturday, whatever you wanted Friday and didn't get is gone! I saw a cabinet on Friday that I made myself a deal with -- if I came back after work Saturday afternoon and it was still there, I'd get it. Well, it was. So I did. Yay! There was second piece that I was eyeballing... it was waiting for a customer to pick up when I got back Saturday!

Recently I had the opportunity to visit the square that's nestled between The College of William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg. During Christmas is one of my favorite times to visit this area. It was hoping too! Crowds were beginning to arrive in Williamsburg for The Grand Illumination the next day. There was music, and a Christmas spirit in the cool crisp air. I visited a few shops that I had time for that were both favorites and new to me. The Cheese Shop for a snack. This shop has been a place I have frequented for decades, it's awesome and an independent run store like most others. I went to R. Bryant, a men's store. Lulu lemon, Danforth Pewter and a new shop Walkabout Outfitters which is a small chain. It replaced a very well known and established independent store I shopped since early 2000. If you're looking for a unique place to shop, eat and also take in a show at the Kimball Theater then Merchants is the place.

After going to…read morecollege at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, it's pretty funny seeing everyone's face when I tell them that I vacation in Williamsburg. This Walmart is located in the Monticello and it is truly a "neighborhood market." This is not a superstore, mostly groceries and common household items. Most food establishments and shopping places are located in Monticello, making it a very ideal spot. My family likes to stay Greensprings Vacation Resort by Diamond Resorts and this Walmart is only a short 10 minute drive. So after unpacking and settling in, we almost always make a trip to Walmart to get groceries for breakfast and other meals. I highly recommend their $1 french bread. The only notable thing I have to point out is that the check-outs are all Scan-and-Go, meaning that there is no employee working at each cashier. As a young adult, I'm used to using self-checkouts, but this might not be the case for the elderly population in Williamsburg. There is still an employee rotating around, but if multiple people are having difficulty checking out, it could result in a longer waiting time. Overall, this Walmart is just more convenient, if anything. I never had a bad experience, but there wasn't anything that was spectacular (but then again, this is just a Walmart). Fun Fact: Walmart Neighborhood Markets have a different exterior design than the Walmart Supercentres. Walmart Neighborhood Markets are green, while Walmart Supercentres are blue.
