My husband and I were in Williamsburg on business and needed a few things before an interview that afternoon, so we stopped by the Walmart Supercenter to grab what we needed. Most things were easy to find, but we struggled with one item, so I went to ask an employee for help. Unfortunately, the young woman I asked--a blond in her early 20s--was anything but helpful. When I politely asked where the item was, she just sneered and said, "I DON'T KNOW!" Honestly, it was disappointing, and I wish I'd caught her name so I could call her out properly. We've been thinking about moving to Williamsburg, but after that experience, I'm not too impressed--outside of Colonial Williamsburg, that is. If you haven't been, Colonial Williamsburg is a must-see and should definitely be on your bucket list. It's great for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens. And don't forget to get the tri-tickets so you can check out Yorktown and Jamestown too--they're amazing! read more

The pharmacy staff are great and attentive to their customers. I usually bag my own groceries, and the older staff are quite helpful. Since I had a few too many items in my cart, I went to a regular checkout.l lane. Not much choice, only 2 lines available and found it didn'tmake a difference. The checkout teens and their supervisor lack friendliness and acted like miniature Cruellas. The pharmacy staff, older self-checkout staff should get 5* while the "regular young staff" need additional customer service training and their attitude causes strife with us elderly disabled customers. read more

The store is quite picked over in many departments. Not well stocked at all. There was only one live cashier on in the early evening. Seems poorly managed. Also, the door greeters really harass you for a receipt. I said no thank you and continued walking so the greeter made sure to tell me he would make a note of it on his clipboard. read more

Came here to grab a few things once I had checked into my room. Basically some snacks, drinks and any odds and ends that I forgot to pack. Getting here wasn't all that hard, it just felt like you were driving down a secluded road at one point and then magically a Walmart appears. Parking was a breeze. Surprisingly it wasn't all that busy when I stopped in. I was able to get in and browse. I really felt out of place at one point as I am used to being pushed through a store. I wasn't in here and I was not as angry as I usually am when I go to leave a Walmart. I opted for the self checkout in order to expediate my way out of here. Just stopped to get fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, and granola. Picked up fresh blueberries and grapes, tasty. Prices were good.

Took a cold Wednesday am walk from nearby Great Wolf Lodge to pickup breakfast items. (Proximity bumps a 3.5 experience to 4 stars as there's not much else nearby, unless you crave Sonic or The Huntsman Grill). If you're living under a rock and not in the know, "Supercenters" have full-on grocery stores AND department stores all under 1 roof. Parking lot was empty with minor debris. Upon entry, I was greeted by a friendly employee, the first/last to acknowledge me despite encountering numerous others while shopping. Time of day could have been a factor, which may also account for how well stocked and clean the store appeared. Observed lots of clear signage, including advertisements for "order ahead grocery pickup" with corresponding parking spaces. My score? half gallon of OJ, half gallon of chocolate milk and blackberries (12oz) for $8. The only checkout open was self-checkout. Normally, I wouldn't mind but of course, typical WalMart shenanigans: shelf prices and checkout prices were different for 2 of the 3 items, with $1.50+ in favor of "the house." At that difference and with no other customers waiting, I asked for price adjustment assistance. It was eventually resolved by a front end supervisor for 1 of the 2 items. Ironically, he took more time overriding 1 price than he would have spent checking me out. Of course, I'll still give the Walton family my business. read more

I'm a HUGE FAN of Reese's. If you like iced coffee, or the coffee taste itself, plus Reese's, then this IS a great drink to try. Personally, you can just refrigerate it and then not have to have it over ice. Just pour a cup and your good to go. You can seriously taste all of the flavors. You can taste the Reese's peanut butter, the Reese's chocolate, and the coffee flavor all at once. I bought mine yesterday evening around 9pm/10pm had two cups. Now it's the next day and I had (I think) two or three cups. This will be gone before the day and/or evening is over. I should have bought two. It's that good. Give it a try. read more

This store is terrible. There are 16 self checkout stations and Only one with a cashier. You cannot go through self checkout with 100 items when you do a monthly shopping trip. I know they don't want to pay people to work and want to force everyone to self checkout. I won't do it if I have more than 10 items. It's crazy. I go in at 9:11 at night place was packed however, no employees are doing their job. Everyone is doing self check out and employees were very rude about it will not shop again. Walmart do better. How are there 16 self checkout lines and not one person is manning the register oh, but when a problem happens at the self check out you need help on top of that. This is the worst walmart ever been, first when you are looking for something you want it is hard to find as Fairlife chocolate milk, I went 4 days in a row to try to buy but empty rack, and also yesterday I walked to the ice cream aisle and I found a broken freezer door with a piece of carton and all the breaking glass on the floor with not warning signs. In fact, she could've gone about her business and i wouldn't have had any one to be mad at except myself for coming in to make prints at the last minute (9:50, and the latest you can input pics is 9pm if you want them same day - which I NEEDED). Luckily, Nicole's customer service is exemplary and she makes walmart feel like a small business by the way she cared and actually sought out solutions for me. She printed my photos out by hand so I could give my sister in law her graduation gift on time (while simultaneously keeping me out of the proverbial dog house! ) For this, I'll only be using this walmart location for my photo service needs moving forward. This Walmart Supercenter is always clean despite constantly being busy. When my family visits, this is always a sure stop for fresh fruits and vegetables, snacks, beverages, and everyday essentials. Went into this WalMart on Sunday 10 Sep 17 to buy some money orders. Nothing dramatic or special; I've done this transaction at this very store at least 20 times in the past. This day, I encounter Nichole at Customer Service. Nichole seems nervous about selling me money orders; tells me she's not comfortable doing that. "No prob", I say. "Just get someone else to do it." "I'm not comfortable with the way it's being done" says Nichole. "Some rules have changed and I'm not sure. Let me check with a manager". So I stood there. And stood there. And stood there. Other customers came and went. Nichole and the rest of the CS team wandered about and whispered and pointed at me and slinked in and out. 42 minutes this lasted; I timed it on my phone. I asked several times whether they would do this transaction or not, and the answer was always "we're checking with a manager". The whole time I was made to stand there and be made to feel like I was some kind of criminal. Finally, an assistant manager named Sara came out and weakly apologized, saying she still wasn't sure if she could sell me money orders; they're trying to get their DISTRICT MANAGER on the phone. Seriously, WalMart? Your customer service are so clueless on YOUR OWN RULES that you make a customer stand there for 42 minutes and make him feel like some kind of terrorist funding kingpin? What a difference the south makes!!!!!! I came to Walmart because I'm on vacation and I realized I couldn't make it until the next morning without something to drink. It was almost 10 pm so I thought it can't be too crowded. WRONG!!!! I went through the isles and got most of what i needed. As I'm walking to the checkout i am reminded of why i prefer Target. The lines!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! I went to one that seem reasonable and I'm standing there waiting. There was another line next to me but the light was out. The elderly woman had just finished helping another man and supposed to leave but she looked at me and said "come on over baby!" She was so sweet and happy to assist me. Trying to order a cake over the phone is worse than pulling teeth. I'm planning to go to Great Wolf Lodge to celebrate a birthday so, I figured I could call and order a cake at the WalMart closest to the lodge. I live about 1.5 hours away. I looked in a "Walmart" Cake catalog and figured if I indicate and took a picture, they'll make it happen. I called and spoke to Martha who told me they didn't have any basketball cakes. Then, I was told their artistic abilities were not that great to make a basketball cake but, they have a volleyball. She eventually found a basketball. The way she described, it sounded like the one I had a pic of on my phone which was taken FROM a Walmart Bakery Catalog 2012 IN a Walmart establishment. The next challenge was how I wanted the cake decorated. Martha reminded me she can't see what I'm looking at, doesn't have a Walmart Catalog to see the picture I was looking at and of course, there is absolutely no electronic means for me to send it to the bakery. All I heard was "Nooo nooo nooo..you have to come in." I called customer service thinking they would have a fax, email, cell phone, something....They transferred me back to the bakery. I called back to talk to a manager thinking someone in the store is bound to have a cell phone. Spoke to manager, Kiana and she too said the same "Nooo nooo nooo..you have to come in." She clearly advised me that no one at the store has a cell phone nor electronic means of receiving a picture from me in order for them to show the bakery a pic that was out of their WalMart Catalog. No one with a cell phone. Interesting concept. Does anyone not know anything about customer service and/or going above and beyond? How about common sense? Oh.. This establishment has very poor customer service. They say they cannot cash a government check if the name on it is not identical to my ID. It has the same address, same last and first name but the IRS leaves off the last 2 letters of my first name. They do the same to my husband's first name on the checks. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. 6 employees were surrounding 1 register to reload somebody's gift card. Apparently it is a very complex situation to handle. Go figure.... read more

There has been a long standing issue with this Walmart being poorly stocked for common / staple type grocery items. My recommendation is to head down to the other grocery store first and save yourself two trips, because this Walmart will virtually never have 100% of what you need. That being said, if you are not a super brand specific shopper and are willing to try new brands, flavors, etc... you will be less impacted by this Walmart's inability to properly stock it's shelves. read more

This Walmart is very clean & everyone seemed very helpful here. I've never seen a Walmart with so many grocery carts that have the attached blue seating area for children. The seating that they can just hop in and out of. The cashier told me they had bought a lot after listening to the customer's need for them. Loved that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cashier was so nice and considerate and it seemed fully stocked in the store. I prefer this Walmart over the other grocery stores :)) read more
