I went here for an eye exam, and to get new glasses. I have great distance vision, and only need…read morethem for reading and computer work. I am happy with my current prescription, but my glasses have a scratch, and I wanted to take advantage of my eye insurance. Dr. Pisheh was very nice, sociable, and seemed to genuinely care about getting me the right prescription. That being said, the first prescription she gave me was to weaken the current prescription I have, and wear the glasses full time. I thought this was odd, as I have never had problems seeing other than when reading close up, and I haven't been dissatisfied with my current reading glasses. They are basically magnifying glasses, so I couldn't imagine wearing them full time. Here is where the real issues come in. The man our front, that sells frames, is very shady, and is obviously looking to make the most profit vs getting you the frames you want/need. He sold me on getting the more expensive frames (237 out of pocket) since I was now going to be wearing them full time. I was ok with it at the time, because I wanted to have a nice pair if using them constantly. Also, he sounded like he knew exactly what my insurance would and would not cover. 2 Weeks later, my glasses came in. I put them on, and it was like looking through a fish bowl. I couldn't even use them for reading, much less walking around. It was like I was watching a bad 3-d movie. I took them back, and the Dr. wanted to do a re-exam to see what was wrong. She admitted I had 20-15 vision long distance, which made me wonder why she prescribed full time lenses in the first place. However, she still wanted me to have a prescription for full time use. I told her that really is not necessary, because I can see fine without glasses unless I'm reading up close, and even then, I can manage without them. So she gave me a prescription that is less than the prescription on my current glasses that I have been using for the last 2 years. I then went back out to the front, and the shady salesman told me (matter of factly) that what they are going to do is get new lenses made and put them in the same frames they sold me before. I told him that won't work, because the only reason I got the other frames was because I was under the impression I would be using the glasses full time. I explained that I want to get some cheap reader frames that my insurance would take care of. He then pointed me to a section of frames and said those are the cheapest, but they would still run me at least $25 out of pocket. I was wondering how he knew that so fast, and asked him how much my insurance allowance is (knowing it was 150), and he said he didn't know. Ok, so how did he know, without knowing my allowance, and without a price tag on the frames, how much I would be out of pocket? Very dishonest, in my opinion. At that point, I simply decided to get the prescription, and take my business elsewhere. I let him know this, and he said no. He said the frames I got originally are used now, so nothing could be done. I told him I am returning them, because the prescription was wrong. He started arguing with me about how they were used now, and I told him sorry, but that is not my fault. He looked at me in the eyes and said, "Well, who's fault is it?" I replied that I had been given the wrong prescription, was told I needed glasses full time, and on that premise decided to get these frames. The correct prescription does not require me to wear glasses full time, so I no longer need the more expensive frames. He continued to argue, and even told me that I would still be wearing the glasses full time (don't know why he thought he knew what I was being given). I said no, I am not. They are just for reading, and he again said that no, I would be wearing them full time. I told him at least three times I would not argue about this. He finally left to talk to the doctor, and the receptionist returned with my prescription and a check for the amount I spent on the glasses (with no apology). I am in customer service, and they could learn a thing or two by taking some classes. I am glad they ended up doing the right thing, but it was too little too late. They already lost me as a customer with the arguing and upsell. Please stay away from this place. There is something shady going on, and I don't believe they are out for your best interest. ****UPDATING THIS REVIEW 2 MONTHS LATER****** It has been over two months since this has happened, and they still have not notified my insurance company to reverse the claim, so now I have to wait even longer before getting glasses. A real class act, these people. What a scam. Stay away.
