Dr. Rugwani and his staff are EXCELLENT!!! My husband has glaucoma and has been to other doctors/ophthalmologist and they never seemed real concerrned about it. Dr. Rugwani told my husband he had lost 50% of his sight in his left eye due to the glaucoma. He sent him to a specialist in Dallas who with the correct diagnosis and treatment, stopped the vision loss. He is professional, engaging and we have the utmost faith in both him and his staff. the worst! First of I never submit reviews but this is the worst experience with a eye clinic, after my eye exam they printed the prescription and just handed it to me without even explaining next steps and I had to ask "what now"? can I go next door to look at frames ? it was so unprofessional. I went home instead and just ordered frames. When I tried on my new glasses the prescription was way off so i look at my previous prescription to find out its totally off from what I normally use. I called them to get it fix and since I no longer have insurance they were unable to assist me. what a waste of my money and time. read more

My first visit started out wrong because my insurance wasn't verified so I rescheduled and the second visit went well. The tech/ nurse that assisted me was great. And the doctor took his time and explained what my next appointment. The third visit didn't go well. I have been getting glaucoma tests for years. The results I got from the tech I could understand to the doctor coming in telling me something different. His answer wasn't clear nor did he explain what he saw in layman term. I felt like now that I have been there a couple of times you can tell me anything without further explanation. As a patient I want to know what's going on: to the eye drops being used to what each test is for and why. And I didn't get that. The visit from the doctor was rushed not a good visit at all. read more

The doctor is knowledgeable and efficient, and the new location is easier to find parking. However, be warned not to schedule a 1 PM appointment because unlike any other doctor's office I have ever visited, they lock their doors from 12-1 PM for lunch! When I arrived 10 minutes before my 1:00 appointment, there were seven other people, mostly elderly, all forced to wait outside for them to open. Once we finally got in, the check-ins began, and it was another 10 minutes before the first patient was called back. To make things even worse, the waiting room chairs are metal with thin cushions only partially covering the metal, making them very uncomfortable. I highly suggest that they stop scheduling 1:00 appointments and schedule 1:15 appointments instead. Also, if your butt hurts when sitting on hard chairs like mine does, bring your own seat cushion. read more

Dr. Rugwani has been my Optomologist for 20-plus years. I have nothing but good things to say about him. He also treated my mother up until the time of her passing in 2014. He performed cataract surgeries on both my mother and myself. He continues to treat me for my glaucoma and I have a standing appointment with him every 4 months. His staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. Dr Rugwani is professional, informative, caring, and highly skilled. I would give him 10 stars if that were possible. I called this business asking if they were My Eye Lab, located on hwy 77 in the same parking lot as the carwash. I was told that they were, so I made an appointment. I showed up to my appointment today at My Eye Lab, which they let me know that I had no appointment. I went to the text confirmation, which provided no business name or address...it only had a phone number. I called the number several times and I continued to receive a voicemail saying they were closed for lunch until 1pm (my calls were after 1 pm, just fyi). When they finally answered the phone, I explained to them what happened. I believe her name was Lily or Lia, but she told me "it was a miscommunication, but you can still come or not..." I was totally flabbergasted by her response. I then asked if she was able to look up who I spoke with. She replied with, yes...I can, but I already told you, you can keep your appointment or cancel it. I asked her if I could just get a simple apology for receiving incorrect information, and again, I was told, I already told you it was a miscommunication, do you want to keep your appointment or not. I arrived at the location and spoke to someone else, at this time, one lady came out into the lobby, and another came and stood behind the 2 girls at the desk...I explained to her what occurred, and stated, I would just like a simple apology for the miscommunication on their part. I was then told that I was the one who miscommunicated. At that time, I said I will take my business elsewhere, at which time, I was taunted by one of the receptionists. I honestly feel like this was because of my race. I never knew that it was painful to say the words "I apologize" to another person. I am the customer, not the other way around. Customer service goes a long way, and I will never recommend, nor patronize this establishment again. read more

Very short and rude with patients. My patient has been rescheduled twice due to staffing unable to verify insurance information the day before appointment office called for insurance information which should have been done after the appointment was scheduled or at least a week before not reiterate, that this appointment has been scheduled twice. Now, patient has to be rescheduled a week out again just poor customer service and wants to be argumentative about their protocols. very sad, especially when a patient is disabled and have to have transportation arranged to have them brought in with a walker. read more

I was told I needed cataract surgery so a friend referred me to her ophthalmologist, Dr. Rugwani. I walked in nervous about having surgery, but he was so thorough and detailed which put me at ease. Surgery on both of my eyes went great and I love my new eyes. I am now facing glaucoma so he will be testing me shortly. My experience with appointments is very good. I have not waited more than 10-15 minutes to get in to see doctor. read more

Can I give the doctor and staff 10 stars? I have seen many eye doctors. Several eye surgeons But this doctor is amazing. A very caring doctor and his "bed side manner" shows I was extremely nervous having my cataract surgery. His calm and professional manner made the surgery and recovery so easy. I had no issues. No infections And I can't remember the last time I've seen this clearly. His staff is his mirror image. Wonderful and caring. I will not go anywhere else. I have recommended him to friends. My only regret is we weren't living in Waxahachie when my mom had her surgery. read more

I've been going to this office for 6 years. The first visit, I wasn't used to the doctor and he was a little short, not really rude. He never spoke over my head or acted like I didn't know anything. The staff was great. My second visit was better because I knew what to expect and he also had improved and wasn't as "short" when communicating. I keep going and feel very comfortable with his knowledge and ability. He treats my eyes because of my diabetes. This is different than being tested for glasses. He does that also for an extra $25 which is less expensive than many other opthamologists or optometrists. I will keep going to him and my husband is going to an appointment tomorrow. read more

If there was a way to give this JOKE of a Opthalmology Office NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. Starting with how my wife on June 11th had an appointment at 10:45 am and did not get seen until 1:30 pm. REALLY??? They took all the needed tests, and did a FULL EYE EXAM. Then to have the " EYE SPECIALIST Dr. Rajiv Rugwani " inform us that she will need to be seen by another "SPECIALIST" , then to charge us triple our office co-pay to $180.00. I DONT THINK SO... This Doctor is supposed to be a specialist? We brought him all my wife's records from her previous Opthalmologist. But he still insisted on having my wife go to another SPECIALIST and pay again another co-pay. My wife and I said that we will go to another Doctor when the need arises. We informed our Primary Care Physician of the total lack of PROFESSIONALISM. So today November 4th, my wife drops her prescribed glasses and they break. So my wife is in CEDAR HILL, walks into Lens Crafters to see if they can fix. My wife got her glasses at the Lens Crafters in San Diego, so the Lens Crafters in Cedar Hill. They had all my wife's information but needed an updated prescription. So my wife called the " OFFICE " , and spoke to Brandy. Brandy informed my wife that they will fax the Prescription within 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, my wife is still waiting for the fax. I call and speak to Brandy. She informs me that it will be faxed as soon as they can. So I tell my wife and we wait. 15 minutes goes by. I then call the office again and I speak to Brandy. She then tells me that there is no one in the OFFICE available to " PRINT THE PRESCRIPTION " THAT THE OFFICE MANAGER IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS PERMISSION TO PRINT THE PRESCRIPTION". ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING ME????? She then informs me that in actuality my wife was " GET THIS " NEVER WAS TESTED FOR A PRESCRIPTION".. This " EYE CLINIC " IS THE EPITOME OF A FAILED ATTEMPT FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have REPORTED THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND TO THE TEXAS STATE MEDICAL BOARD. At 5:15 today, my wife received a call from " THE OFFICE ", saying that they did in fact have the PRESCRIPTION but there is a fee of $25.00 since my wife did not go see the SPECIALIST that THEY were going to refer her to. He and his staff have seen me through cataract surgeries and follow-up capsulotomy procedures and I am happy to say I now only require the use of reading glasses. The only good thing about this place was it was easy to find and get an appointment. The front desk staff was really nice, but I will ever return. The 'doctor' was so rude! I had been to an ER while on vacation because I had developed a corneal ulcer. I came back and made an appointment here. I made the appointment for 3pm, and when the office called to ask to have me come in earlier, I was all on board for it. I came in at 10 and then waited for over an hour to see this doctor. What was the point of me coming in at 10?? To then wait for over an hour? As soon as the doctor came into the exam room he was off to a bad start. Trying to make me feel like I was a moron. That did not fly well with me. He got in my face about something he had not bothered to ask me about. As soon as I pushed back (almost leaving the office, I was so steamed) he backed down and tried to act friendly and pretended to give a damn. I will never go back to this place. Ever. read more
