I wanted to visit one more time before they permanently closed, so I did just that on the last weekend of operations for the mini golf. Sunset Golf is located on Brownsville Road in South Park. It is in a more serene area, and has a private parking lot. Along with mini golf, there is a driving range, golf lessons, a pro shop, as well as some concessions to partake in. We visited on the final Saturday of operations for the mini golf, arriving around 3 PM. It was fairly busy, but we were still able to enjoy our afternoon mini golfing and taking in the atmosphere. I thought the price for mini golf was fair at $8 per person. The mini golf was lots of fun! It was a 27 hole course, with a lot of variety in the holes. There were some more simplistic ones, and others that were more intricate. Some of my favorite holes were the water fall hole (#2), the Grinch House, and the Pirate Ship holes. Some of the holes were challenging, such as the one that is simply an uphill slope, or the one with a rotating receiver. The variety was nice to keep it interesting and moving along. You could even win a free game of mini golf, or some strokes removed from your overall score, depending on your performance on the last hole! I enjoyed getting to keep score the old fashion way with the book and paper. This place overall has a nice blend of newer, more updated aspects, while still keeping true to its history and providing some nostalgia in ways such as. I think on a normal day, you could probably get through the course in about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your party size. However, since it was more crowded on this day, it took us closer to two hours to get through since there were a lot of groups ahead of us that caused a natural bottleneck. The staff members were all very friendly, and also helpful. I could tell they took care in their work, as I saw several taking care of holes and keeping up with the landscape while we were going through the course. For example, coming through with a blower to remove mulch from the greens. I have always loved this place, and was so glad to be able to visit one final time. I also got to bring my fiancé here for the first time this trip, since he is not from here and had never been before. Even despite the extremely harsh heat and sun, we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit this day! I will always cherish the memories made here, such as my sister's birthday party when we were kids, and all of the other good times over the years. We will definitely miss having a locally-owned mini golf so close to home, and being able to support it!!! Thank you, Sunset Golf!

It is located near South Park of Allegheny County Parks, right on Brownsville with a free parking lot, and I wish I knew about it sooner. We went at the perfect timing as it was pretty empty our first game and then our second, more people came. Their prices are incomparable of only $8/person for 27 holes of outdoor mini golf with each hole having a really creative theme about it (ninja turtle one with sewers popping up, grinch one snowing with bubbles, mario, ship with weather storming for a nice cool off during a hot day - to name a few) and the second game is half off so if you play a second it's only $4/person. The driving range goes by how many balls you'd like, I believe we got a medium basket for $13. The last hole of mini golf gives you a chance to win a free game. We had a wonderful bonding experience. Maybe only good tip to know is bring your own water bottle and snack as we were able to bring ours but they do sell water bottles for $1/each. Such an affordable nice time, we can't wait to be back! I was a bit skeptical about Putt Shack because I had heard many mixed reviews and know it is a…read morelarge corporate chain. I finally visited for the first time in late June and was pleasantly surprised at what a fun time we had. You can either register online prior to your arrival or you can use one of their ipads to register. Each player gets a golf ball that is individually coded to them. So it tracks every stroke you take (no cheating) and automatically adds the score (including bonus points on some holes). One nice thing is that you can skip around if there are lines at the holes. This is really helpful especially if you are there with a group. They also have tables throughout the course that let you place your drink down. You do need to pay attention to make sure you stay on your own course because the two courses are right next to each other. If your ball suddenly isn't registering, it is probably because you are on the wrong course. Food is pretty tasty (although a little overpriced). You can eat any time and they have an option that you can order food before you golf and have it ready for when you are done (but I imagine it could get difficult to try and time that correctly), There is metered street parking right outside and a large surface lot behind the building. Overall a fun place to take your family or a unique date night.

It appeared most people were putting not so much eating. We played nine holes and I could have easily stayed for another nine. It is pricey for four people. I appreciated the servers coming to the holes for drinks. Each hole has a space to place your drinks while you putt. PuttShack was the perfect family outing for us. The ball is digitally assigned to each person. There is no keeping track of the score. Every time you put the ball on the tee the computer recognizes you.

It was awesome, we really enjoyed the course. They currently have one 18 whole course open and the other one is not open yet .We got to eat ice cream at their snack shop and we got to race go karts and play at the arcade it was a fun filled day, also the second time we raced go karts my 13-year-old son got to drive and I got to be his passenger. So they have single and dual passenger go karts. The bumper boats, water soaker zone and batting cages weren't open, but will hit them later when they are.

You can really feel the friendly atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The golf course itself is beautiful, well-kept, and full of unique character. Every hole was set up so neatly, with creative layouts, multiple drops, and thoughtful details that kept it fun the entire way through. I especially loved that they had an easier course for younger kids, which made it perfect for our children, and we also noticed the moving/more challenging course, which looked like something my husband and I would love to come back and try on our own. The seating areas placed along the way made it feel relaxing and enjoyable, and there was so much to look at that the whole experience felt special. We found this course because we were checking out the West Virginia Paranormal Trail and when we arrived it was raining and they were closed but we decided to wait a while outside until they opened and I am SO glad we did. It's $12 per person but you can go through again for only $5 if you want. We probably would have done another round ourselves but time wasn't on our side. They give you a "lore card" and a score card so you get to learn all about the cryptids they feature while you play through and it is just so much fun. My favorites were the Flatwoods Monster and of course the Moth Man but it was cool to learn about some I had never heard of before as well and honestly we were tickled and smiling the whole time we were inside. It is small and does get warm inside and we were lucky that there were only a few other people when we went because they started getting busy as we were leaving and it was pretty cramped. If anything I hope that encourages them to open a larger spot and add even more holes. The owners were lovely too. They were warm and friendly and they had a super eclectic and well curated gift shop at the end of the course. We ended up getting a candle and some snacks but believe me, I wanted everything. I even asked about buying a display stand they were using for merch because it was so adorable and they made a joke about everything having a price. Then, as we were walking out, I saw a mask on the wall that I knew my hubby would love so I walked back and asked if they would sell me that. It turns out they had one in the back that they had had forever and were happy to sell it to me. The price was reasonable too so it was just a cherry on an already incredible experience. I beat my husband by a WHOPPING 11 strokes btw but that tidbit is really just for me. I hope the rest of the review was helpful and entices you to head over and support this fantastic establishment. The course itself is cool, but they are easier than we expected. The decorations are fitting for the story and entertaining. The glow in the dark aspects are definitely intriguing for kids and adults alike. You finish your round in the gift store, which has some cool stuff in it as well. We did not buy anything, but it was interesting to see it all and listen to some of the local stories.
