Not only beer, but they also have wine tasting and serves food. The whole vibe is actually pretty cute. Outdoor seating with umbrella as well as indoor. Majority of people were outside enjoying the weather. Inside, one section is like a cafe with tasting as well. We stopped by for a cold beer which they had a good selections and ciders. If we hadn't already had lunch earlier, the food here looked quite nice. Someone ordered a charcuterie board and it was quite impressive. Service was nice and the staff were all very friendly. I'm sure if it wasn't a holiday, this place does will probably be pretty busy when the town is full of people. Now that we've been through, it's definitely worth coming back.

Anyway, I walked in, turned the corner, and almost immediately I spied the local wine, among a whole bunch of other local wines at decent prices. So, I talk to one the young fellows who work their & I placed an order for two cases... I was afraid that it would be discontinued.... but now, several months later I still see it there and now at Haggen. It is kind of cramped in there, and the first time I went there & turned around, I accidently knocked a bottle that was randomly sit on a box along side a windex bottle. I felt like an idiot bull in a china shop. Anyway, the owners were very cool, and they apologized...which was gracious. I was like holy crap, I am so sorry...but it only a White Wine anyway :) In this cramped space they somehow manage to pack lots of local wines, but you really need to look up, down, & bend down to see all of the selection. They also have an extensive beer selection, but few imports. Behind the counter they have the usual harder stuff & have some good vodkas. It could be that you can find something here rather than at Haggen, Von's, or Cal Fresh. Anyway, sometimes you can find gems in dirt! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Someone reviewed this place slipped up in regards of sanitary practices , but tell me which restaurant from morro bay to santa Barbara hasn't slipped up before? I don't like the idea of bad practice... but I know every joint doesn't adhere 100% to standards. Wish they did but overall... never had a bad meal at l&k or a weird feeling. The bad review praised/suggested la pico sita which is basically the best Mexican food in santa maria. Agreed. But, even la pico is questionable in standards. Best Mexican food is from mothers, grandmothers and aunts. And I promise you their methods aren't 100% sanitary. Even horrible national chain Chipotle failed with their "standards" ... I'll take love and respect over defrosting meat next to dirty dishes in the end game results. I say that with a grain of salt. I would prefer best practice, but when it comes to food, Mexican food specifically... there is a gray area. No one wants to get sick because of bad practices. There where two employees up front at the register. One with a clip board was talking to the other I walked in and they both came over right away. I asked about the wine and the manager Maddie checked into if they carried the winery. Through her search she said they did not. BUT she went above and beyond for me! She researched the winery gave me the location,hours and phone number and said they take reservations! She went way out of her way to help me!
