They may add in recommendations that are not necessarily required for what you actually came in to get done. This was the only hiccup I had, and honestly it did feel a little predatory to me. I think recommended services should be separated more clearly from what is actually mandatory for the surgery itself, especially for first-time pet owners or people paying out of pocket. Aside from that, I definitely recommend them. They treat your pets very well and both of my cats had smooth surgeries and recoveries.

I've started calling around to get an idea for what the average or 'range' of either procedure is. When talking to the clinic rep, they said the vet 'prefers' developing a closer relationship with the animals first (paraphrasing) before they can tell me what it might cost. So they'd need a check-up despite having gotten one the week before. Really? A healthy young cat in need of spay/neuter is between 5-12 lbs. depending on the sex. You'd think after doing a few hundred--or a few thousand--such procedures that a vet clinic would get a 'feel' for what the average cost is. A previous vet elsewhere charged me $150 to do a check-up on my cats--basically weigh them and stick a thermometer in their rectums--before his assistant could tell me it was upwards of $480 for a boy and $920 for a girl. How do I as a customer trust this vet or any other when they can't give an average? Btw, anyone wonder why there are so many strays and litters of puppies and kittens in need of a good home? Now after 3k+ in ER and vet bills I discovered that my kitten has been having all these GI issues because she's had worms this entire time. if Dr. Lopez and team had just listened to my concerns and done their research maybe this negligence could have been avoided. do not go to this practice it's not worth the money (spaying costs $1000). It just does not seem like this practice knows what they need to be doing. The veterinarians are knowledgeable, compassionate, and take the time to thoroughly explain what's going on and answer any questions. You can tell that they genuinely care about the animals they treat. The assisting staff are also so wonderful. Every single one has been kind, attentive, and great with both pets and owners, especially in stressful situations. Unfortunately, the experience at the front desk has consistently been the complete opposite, and it's only gotten worse over time. Both in person and over the phone interactions often come across as dismissive, impatient, and at times outright rude. It makes scheduling appointments or asking simple questions feel unnecessarily uncomfortable, which is disappointing given how long I've been a client. It's frustrating because the quality of medical care is excellent, but the front desk experience really detracts from it. We are known in this neighborhood as "The Dog House." (If you live near Dr Meher's office, you know…read morewho we are!) We have six dogs: Four Dachshunds, one Min Pin, and one Basset Hound. We are also in rescue, and foster (and sometimes rehabilitate) dogs as needed. We purchased this house from my husband's parents, who also were in rescue, and had a lot of dogs. It is an absolute blessing to have Dr Meher's office two doors down. When we lived in an apartment in Columbia for a year, while we were in the process of buying the house in Cloverly, we still drove all the way back to Dr Meher for our dogs, because his practice was the one my husband's family had been using and trusting for decades, and we still do. Dr Meher's office has always been clean and tidy, and ready for visitors. Whether we're the first appointment of the day, or the last, it's always spot-on for company. Dr Meher and his wonderful secretary have been there for us, at a moment's notice, whether it's time for yearly shots and checkups, or one of our dogs has something come up unexpectedly. Though one of our dogs is generally afraid of all strangers, Dr Meher and his secretary do their utmost best to make sure that she is as comfortable as possible. Having Dachshunds, it is a blessing to have Dr Meher so close. When they have occasional back spasms, the therapy he prescribes for him is amazingly effective, and they're always checking in to make sure that our dogs are doing better as scheduled. They're extremely knowledgeable when it comes to breed-specific health concerns and treatments, which is absolutely fantastic. Same-day appointments are the norm rather than the exception, and they are as thorough as can be when it comes to making sure that our dogs leave in excellent health.
