Not happy. I had a telehealth visit with my PA Edgar Garcia on Friday regarding blood work. He was…read moresending my prescription into my regular pharmacy however I told him they were closed over the weekend. He informed me I needed the medicine before then and what other pharmacy I would like. I told him Walmart Pharmacy in Edinburg off of 281. i hadn't heard anything else from Mr. Garcia or the pharmacy. On Saturday I called the pharmacy to see if the prescription was ready. The pharmacist proceeded to tell me that he tried calling the doctors office because the prescroption is not covered by my insurance. The out of pocket cost was going to be over 500 dollars. He said if we could call the office as well to help out. Well it's a Saturday and they aren't open so I had to call the answering service. In this case they only send the messages through to the on call doctors if it's a life or death situation or what they consider a medical emergency. Well my case is a medical emergency since my potassium is at a 6 and it needed to be lowered. The answering service sent my message through to the on call doctor, which was supposed to be that I needed a cheaper medication that the insurance would cover. Later on I received a message from the on call doctor which i am assuming was PA Adam Ortega wanting me to review the medication. The medication was the same one that had been sent and it was sent to the pharmacy that was closed for the weekend. In other words he didn't even open or read my chart. I then called back to the answering service and left them another message that I needed a cheaper medicine than what is listed and it was to be sent to the Walmart Pharmacy in Edinburg off of 281. The answering service guy said he would send it through and said if the doctor feels this is an emergency he will contact you back. Well I never received a call back or a message back from PA Adam Ortega. It's now Sunday morning and I am without the medication I was needing to lower my potassium since Friday and before Monday. I am going to have to go to Walmart and purchase this medication that is over 500 dollars out of pocket because someone isn't doing their job by reading the chart correctly or by picking up the phone and calling the patient directly. I've always been happy with VMAC and PA Edgar Garcia however, not this time with PA Adam Ortega.

She thoroughly diagnosed all the issues I had and took care of many them immediately. She then fully described all in detail and prescribed everything I needed to get healthier. I have been sick for two weeks and now after this initial visit, I already feel better. Joanna, Thank You!! Thank You!! I highly recommend Joanna and Urgent Care on Alberta in Edinburg!

If your office stops taking patients that early, say that instead of pretending you're overwhelmed. Front desk staff (Victoria) was rude and unprofessional. Overall experience felt lazy, misleading, and a complete waste of time.

Staff was amazing with mom preop and during surgery! But the fact we had to wait 8 hours for a…read morescheduled surgery at 8am and was not seen until 3:45pm is absolutely unacceptable. Not only that is mom couldn't eat since 12am the night before so had to go 15 hours with no food and no explanation of the wait. Oh and she is diabetic. Now we are finished up 12 hours later to wait to just see her so I can finally get food since the cafeteria closed at 2pm before my mother could even get back before surgery. Not only that when I asked where to go so I can see my mom the nurse kept saying he and I corrected her that it's my mother we are waiting on. She clearly had no idea what patient I was even looking for. Unreal! Disappointed at the least to say!
