They service my apartment building and keep raising the laundry rates, but they leave malfunctioning machines in the laundry room that they know don't dry the clothes fully. I assume they're doing it on purpose to try to scam more money from residents, but most people just stop using them and do their laundry elsewhere. If you could give a zero, I would. I live at Glen Oak Towers Peoria,IL. Seven years. In last 4 they raised laundry from 1. To 1.25 to 1.50 still same machine. Seven or 8 washers 7 dryers. The same as the day I moved in. Most times half don't work, caught on fire multiple times. They send illegals that don't speak English to repair. They will fix one out of 4 broken. Always "waiting for parts" switched from coins to card system, that doesn't give refunds. Three dollars for card, but machine only takes five. No refund. Cards stopping working randomly, balances disappear. I received assistance from an gov. Agency. They paid for cards and put 20 on them once a month to help those in need. Walked in today after getting card. Sorry all machines being replaced, your cards are no longer valid. Mail them to them for refund. They just ripped off an entire Government agency. If half residence are getting help. Easily thousands of dollars in one day..poof... They removed machine so you can't check your balance. Mail cards to them...they will check balance and return...bullshit. crooks. New machine only accept credit cards or their app, and machines are all 2.00 a load now. And the drums are little. Total scam company. I'm sick, was doing laundry yesterday had over 35 in two cards....go in today to finish.... Gone you card is worthless. read more

I was charged twice for laundry I didn't use the machine is not accepting my credit cards. Refund $1.75 to my US Bank card.

I have been waiting over a week to do my laundry because the machines in my building has stopped taking credit cards. Monday: called company and they said they will fix tuesday, waiting on a part Tuesday: called and was told will fix wednesday Wednesday: called and was told not fixed for credit cards so I should go fill up Laundry card at machine Thursday morning: go to website, pay $40, told to go to machine to activate card Thursday early afternoon: go to machine and card won't work Thursday late afternoon: get new card successfully add money Thursday Evening: go to do laundry and card still not accepted, called company and was told "oh yeah the missing part means the machines won't take any cards" This is unacceptable. Absolutely awful. They run my building in Streeterville's washing machines and they are always broken. Awful company, terrible service. If there family pride's itself in their laundry service, than they really suck as people. read more

!!Beware!! if your apartment complex uses Family Pride cards and machines. As a previous poster said, the cards barely work in the machines, even when new. You must spend time trying to finesse it and hope it works. If there is the slightest scratch or wear on the reader chip on the card (which is nearly impossible to avoid) good luck to you. Concerning the $3 deposit for each card: After I moved from my apartment (on Todd Farm Dr. in Elgin, IL) on August 31 2016, I had 15 cards left over. That's $45 in deposit money, and one of the cards still had a balance of at least $20 on it to be refunded as well. I sent them the cards and a letter in early Sept. After thinking it was a lost cause, a check finally came, 3 months later, at the end of Dec. and it was only for $37. With a $3 deposit for each card, you cannot end up with 37 in any combination of multiples. Not only did they take months to send the check, they ripped me off on the deposit money and the money still loaded to one of the cards. I'm sure most people don't bother returning the cards to get their deposit back, and they count on that for a big chunk of free money for them. When you do return them, expect to get ripped off, as I was. I'm not going to fight it as dealing with them is a waste of my time, so I'm going on Yelp to warn others so they wont get scammed as well. read more

I am currently a resident of 711 w gordon terrace. They use cardmate laundry card dispensers that are absolutely terrible. Every time I do laundry, i spend 5-10 minutes repeatedly trying to input dollars into the machine since it never accepts anything. Absolutely mind numbing. Not to mention if you lose your card, it costs 5 bucks for a new one. There is a phone number listed however every time I have called to complain/let them know of maintenance, it automatically goes to an answering machine read more

This company is lucky that yelp makes you put down atleast 1 star for everybody. This company is junk. I called them for service on Thursday and nobody came to fix the card machine. It is now Saturday and I have to go out and find a place to give me quarters so I can do laundry cause there card machine is crap. There is always something wrong with their facility and they don't care about there customers to fix it. Their moto is well they can hate us but they still have to do laundry eventually. Is not fair for anybody who has to use any of their facilities. Even when building management calls them it takes days or weeks for them to fix any issues. The machine that we have to put money to refill our cards never takes the money just like the previous person said. There work hours are 8:30 - 5:00 PM. What good does that do when there is an issue and most people work during those hours? It's terrible service and I wish my building at 21 Kristin Place would use another company read more

My laundry room in my building were remodeled and they changed the providers of the machines and it has been the worst experience. We waited about a month until they were finally remodeled and the machines installed and they did not have any workers on site the day they opened. I believe this was the worst decision on their behalf because the credit card machines kept giving invalid codes to load money on my card. I emailed Friday, followed up again on Monday both through email and call, and finally received a call on Tuesday on it. The sales person was very rude and could not input the money on her end on my card and instead gave me another code. She stated if it did not work that I had to call her again. This service is absolutely ridiculous and I have to try it again when I get home. I have a feeling it won't work if she stated that I may have to call her again for her to split up the amounts. What a horrible horrible company. Living at Stonegate and using these machines are the worst mistake anyone could make. Jennifer at family pride never seems to be at the office. I leave message after message all the while I am losing dollars over dollars. These machines are not maintained at all, they smell, they don't fill with water all the way, the dryers don't get hot enough. Without any up-to-date guidelines from Family Pride Laundries, I managed to get one of its ESD Money Cards that is supposed to work with their machines in my building (at 855 W. Aldine Avenue in Chicago) for a $5 bill that was supposed to put $2 of the five on that Card. When I tried to electronically add funds, it only allowed a minimum of $40 for the first transfer, which did not recognize the $2 that was already on the Card. Do I now have only $40 on it or $42? Because there is no posting in my building as to how much any particular wash load deducts from this Card, I guess I'll just find out by using it. I shudder to think how these machines might wash and dry at what expense with the reviews that I have seen on this website. Maybe 'it'll all come out in the wash.' read more

terrible machines and even worse customer service

SCAM. This company manages the laundry service in my apartment building, though I'm using the term "manages" loosely. The issue with these machines has been going on for over 3 months now. The machines will eat your money and Family Pride "fixes" these issues by removing the Out of Order signs and continuing to cash in on other people attempting to use the broken machines. The dryers don't get warm... EVER. Theres only one dryer that works. The other 4 are so filled with lint deep in the vents (FIRE HAZARD!) that they can't even circulate enough air to dry clothes. I've left my laundry in for 4 dry cycles before and still had to hang dry everything afterwards. The only one that works somewhat properly has what looks like gum all stuck inside it. I have left them voicemails three times in the past week, haven't heard back once. They also never seem to be around or simply don't know how to answer a phone. They send a technician out to fix the machines, supposedly, but nothing has changed. In fact, the issues are getting worse. read more
