This company submitted a bid to our subdivision's Board to trim our many Crape Myrtle trees. Their "arborist" claimed it was ok to top the Crape Myrtles and cut them back severely. Well, any arborist worth a damn knows that you NEVER top a Crape Myrtle! What this company did to our beautiful neighborhood is negligent and irresponsible. Clearly they submitted a lowball offer that the Board couldn't pass up. What the Board didn't know was the only way for Family Tree to come in at that budget was to run through our neighborhood with chainsaws and behead every single one of our Crapes to the point where they look like a bunch of naked stick statues. When they bloom, they will look like pink and purple Harpo Marx Q-tips instead of beautiful trees with a canopy. If your neighborhood Board even THINKS about entertaining a bid from these hacks, you should threaten to vote them out at the next election! You've been warned. Update: To Emmanuel the owner of Family Tree, I disagree that I am not a customer. My annual HOA assessment paid, in part, for your "service". Emmanuel Pedroza runs the business & his brother Manny is the foreman. They did a good job on the trimming & reasonable price. Downside: The crew speaks only Spanish & Manny just sits in the truck. The crew started cutting my neighbors trees & NOT mine. I am a post op elderly man & had to chase them though my acreage yelling "Detener, detener". Donde Manny? En tu camioneta con dormito(asleep in truck, A/C on). They refused to do what Emmauel agreed. I argued & they did all but 3 shrubs. Do not trust them. Prefect! Came out and gave me an estimate. About a month later I was ready to have the work done. Called Tommy and he scheduled it for the next Monday. The crew carefully took down a fence before being cutting the tree down. After the tree was cut down and the stump ground they put the fence back up. They did not leave any debris behind. If I did not know better I would not know that the trees were cut down today. read more

Although the price I was quoted for the tree trimming was reasonable, the care taken by the team was terrible. Cut tree limbs were dropped onto fragile plants and dragged through my back yard shredding my plantings and tearing small bushes out of the ground. When confronted about their lack of care I was told, "We gave you a good price. If we had known we would have to take care, the price would have been higher." I'm not even certain that the arborist was on-site during the process or if the business was left in the hands of day laborers. read more

After the hurricane I asked for someone to give me an estimate for rescuing or removing a fallen tree. They offered to come quickly and we scheduled an appointment. A couple of hours later I got a call from another company employee and he said that removal would cost $800-$1500. I was in shock! However, licensed professionals from two other companies came over and quoted $150 - $300 for removal of the tree. These professionals saw the situation in person before giving me the quotes, but I have a hard time believing that $800 would have been a fair price for the work. read more

The crew did a great job trimming the tree. It's a very large oak tree and needed a major "haircut". They did not use spikes in my tree. :) We had a small problem initially but the owner rectified it as soon as he was aware. That's great service and communication. Very friendly staff, prompt and highly knowledgeable Arborist. Will recommend to all my family, friends and neighbors. This company really pushes the safety of the home owner and employees, they provided us with a copy of the insurance the same day the estimate was given to us and after verifying the insurance and not receiving a Certificate of Insurance from any of the other first three estimates, we knew they were our best choice. Beware I ask the first three companies for proof of insurance and they could not provide us with one even when I mention it said they where fully Insured in their ad. Scary. read more

What a terrible Bait and switch Tactic. I have a Written contract From associate Eddie Stating to do my entire yard for 500 Dollars who actually came to my house in Hearthstone and walked around my yard. I agreed to the deal even called the owner and Confirmed the price but then came the bait and switch he said my entire yard would be 900 dollars?????? He said they cheapest they can do is 300 per hour. I offered him the Written contract from his associate (who just happened to be not in the office). He said the Contract was wrong and was for only 5 trees not for the Class A Trim all Trees in yard as the contract states. I gave him the chance to correct this and do at the agreed price before I posted this and was told to go screw myself very professional. Don't Walk Run from these Crooks I wish someone would have warned me about them. I literally felt like a I as at a Note lot Car dealer they should be ashamed. read more

I would give these guys a 4 out of 10 for the job they preformed at my house in the Sienna area. They did an ok job of cleaning out the inside of my oak trees but while cutting over my house they did not take any precautions to protect my roof. Limbs up to 2" thick crashed onto my roof. Fortunately, I only found two minor dings in my roof. They also let limbs crash onto potted plants which damaged one of those. I spoke to one of the workers twice about 2 minor limbs in a tree after they completed the tree that I wanted out and he said they would use a pole saw to get it. They didn't. I then spoke to Eddie and he said it would be taken care of. Once again they did not. After the crew left they still not take care of the limb so Eddie returned and he gave me reasons why they didn't cut it and finally agreed to get it done. It was going to happen in the next hour but did not. I told him I had to leave and he said they would return in the morning. Well, they returned 30 minutes after the time I told him I had to leave. At least it got done. On my oak trees in the front have a row of ligustrum bushes below and they let large branches 4"+ crash into the bushes damaging them considerably. They then ripped some of the limbs out of the bushes damaging them more. Then after going through the bushes in further detail there were about a half dozen other limbs they cut left in the bushes which I just took out myself. They cleaned the work areas nicely but left water bottles on the ground under the bushes. They borrowed my neighbors ladder, without asking to get on my roof. I would have happily let them use mine if they asked. Finally, Eddie showed up at 7:50am Saturday morning and rang the door bell to collect the check, which woke up my house. I just wanted o be done with them in the end. read more
