BEWARE. Came out to give estimate on removing tree line in my backyard including stumps. I explained we were putting in a pool, so all stumps would have to be completely removed. I paid him in cash and then the pool contractors inform me there is still tons of stump left. I reached out to him to come rectify the situation and he totally ignored me. Terrible communication and totally incompetent with removing stumps. hired a 2nd company to fix his errors. read more

I don't want to do this, but he left me no choice. I got an estimate of $1800 to cut down a large tree, and clear the stump. When he started the job in late June, he raised the price to $2800, which was okay. I'd had trees removed from my front yard previously, so I knew to ask about the stump. At the estimate, I also asked about the fence that's close to the tree. He said the fence wouldn't be harmed. I paid for the job on July 3, even though parts of my fence were broken. I'm replacing the fence anyway, so that's not as big a problem as the stump. It hasn't been touched even though I've contacted him several times since then. Last time I texted him, he denied saying the stump was included, but set up an appointment. Again, he didn't show up. I can't replace my fence until the stump is gone, so this problem is creating a backlog in the work I want to get done before it gets too cold. He did a tree for my cousin and said the same thing, stump included. He took down his tree, but hasn't been back there either. read more

We contracted with Family Tree Service (FTS) to remove a large maple tree in our side yard. They came out in November if 2018 to do the work. The tree was about 27 years old but grew very large. We were quoted a price to take the tree down, remove all of the wood and grind the stump down. While the workers were cutting the tree down, a friend said that we should leave the wood at our side yard and he would come and chop it and remove it. So we decided to leave the wood in our yard. We DID NOT ask Family Tree Service to reduce the cost of the original quote since it was our decision to keep the wood. No problem there. But we did save FTS quite a bit of time and labor by keeping the wood. The large stump was ground down quite a bit but was not ground as far as it should be. They left a considerable amount of trunk exposed above ground around the perimeter of the base. We called FTS to have them come out to grind the wood below the surface of the ground so we could moved in some dirt and reseed the area. They told us to paint mark the areas that needed reground and they would come out to regrind it. We used a bright orange fluorescent paint to mark it. FTS never bothered to come out or call us to regrind. We waited until Winter was over and repainted the areas and called FTS again to regrind. They gave us a date that they would come back. Date passed again and no call, no show.....AGAIN! We set 4 more appointments to have FTS come out to grind the stump. On the next to last call a woman told us that we shouldn't schedule through the guy we had been talking to because he isn't good at keeping appointments. So we scheduled through this lady and said he would come out on a specific date in April. Again, FTS was a no call, no show! Approximately 2 weeks later we again called FTS. This time the man started coming up with all kinds of excuses why no one showed up. He said they have been so busy that they have had trouble getting all of the work done. He also stated that the lady that set the appointment was no longer with FTS. We set another appointment and had high hopes for a resolution. FTS contacted us several times the day if the appointment to keep us up to date on their arrival times. Well they were way off in their estimate. When the truck finally arrived, we watched as it drove past our house, turned around in the Cul de sac and continued straight out of our neighborhood. They never stopped or called to tell us they were there or that they weren't going to stop. We called FTS again to find out what happened. This time a man told my wife that he didn't know when they might be able to come back and finish the job. He didn't offer any apologies and didn't seem to care less. So at this point in May, the tree that was cut down in November still is incomplete. They got our money. They just don't care. We can not complete the grass repairs in the area of the trunk. Don't use Family Tree Service. They do awesome work, but don't complete as promised! I will be pursuing further action against this company until the job is complete! read more

I thought this was a good tree service, truck says 10 years in business, insured, family owned. Everything was going great until Ismer Tellez decided to drive his huge GMC bucket truck onto my front lawn. I now have huge ruts, some 4 to 6 inches deep, along with the support stand that is put down to stabilize the truck - another hole. Called Ismer several times to come and fix it and on Sunday my neighbor called to ask why someone was digging dirt out of my flower bed. It was Ismer trying to fix his mess by taking my dirt out of my flower bed, which was not enough dirt to fix his mess in the first place. This service totally disregards the owners property and I would not recommend them to anyone. Sad way to do business. read more
