In for the holidays when my 92 years young Papa asked about glasses. Analytical daughter…read moreresearched. Private doctors were par for the course and the father had handled his own appointments. Budget mattered these days and folks pointed t ro Wal-Mart. So off she went and asked all the right questions but heard all the wrong answers. A la carte bifocals including exam totaled 259. 1 pair. Research brought up several options. Read lots of reviews. Landed on the Houma s America's Best. Liked what i saw. Knew exactly what cost would be, Be sure to click on promotions. And yes, it is all laid out... and yes, it was exactly as quoted. The upsell was MY choice and the 15 dollars were well spent. Great website/ Spent some time there. Learned lots. Questions about eyes that i never knew i had were answered. Traffic set us back a few minutes. I called and confirmed we were on the way and thanked them for the courtesy as my father was 92. The magic began as we walked in. THE STAFF COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER. It took awhile to fill out the paperwork only because Papa had to do it since it covered his medical history.... (and America Home Office People, your forms are really not well thought out. Your clients have eye issues & your forms are myopic, use jet black ink will you?) SO, people, take a photo if you have a smart phone and blow it up. The doctor introduces himself... My dad smiles, Assistant Kim will test my dad for certain things and uses three machines... Kim is soooooo patient. Papa, 92 years young does not hear and sometimes omits the hearing aid.. Kim was amazing, wonderful, kind, sweet, efficient and patient. (America Home Office People, might you consider TYPING out in BLACK ink in LARGE print the directions for each machine. Reading those directions (laminate them) would certainly have saved Kim some time.... We return to the good doctor Authement, the Houma America Doctor for the last 4 years. I d say mid to late thirties? Papa loved him. The patience and kindness, respect and knowledge and thoroughness were there. He asked the right questions and HE TOOK HIS TIME. Papa was not rushed and asked a lot of questions which his doctor (yep, on the way home he called him HIS doctor-- and told me that his previous 2 eye doctors has NEVER spent that kind of time with him). The collection of eyeglasses of all price point was extensive and btw... you can view them all on the website. A different lady assisted and sold the packages. Very nice. She did not attempt to push the more expensive glasses and treated Papa with respect, listening to his preferences. Tally for Papa- 2 different pairs of eyeglasses, 1 for computer with anti glare film and 1 pair of bifocals for regular wear... 159 dollars for both, including the free exam He returns in 2 weeks to pick them up. I snuck in a contact lens test. Seems i might make good use of the eyeball club's 2 free exams a year for 3 years. Club cost 10 dollars above the cost of the exam which is 89 dollars and you get discountes on Walmart's contact exam was 125. While my diagnosis was not pleasant, i appreciated the Doctor repeating the entire exam after dilating my eyes. No shortcuts. And for the rest of the story, it is your tale to tell!

-100/0 Celest one of the workers there was very hostile,…read moreflipped me off in front the workers and threatened me multiple times in front customers And workers . Managers did nothing but blame me the customer, and she had no repercussions. From what I heard it's not the first time this happened and she still gets no consequences.

I enjoyed my visit at Stanton optical. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about…read moreeverything. They do have a lot budget friendly glasses, but that includes the basic necessities as it pertains to frames, but the lens will be extra. I got what I wanted, but it was the most I have ever paid for 2 pair of glasses only because I added certain things.(reason for 4 not 5 stars) The doctor not being there was different, but that did not bother me at all. Overall, The questions I had were answered, and I was satisfied. I also want to add that the lady who assisted worked very hard to get me near my budget. I really appreciated that consideration; I'm sorry I don't remember her name.

Very annoyed - you tell me if you would be annoyed So my…read moredaughter uses her money to get contact she puts them on in store and says the right eye is blurry but the left is great at this point would you not investigate further as the worker to maybe look at her chart see she has a stigmatism and test her right eye again before righting a prescription if the one eye is blurry and it is NOT just getting used to contacts if the left is perfect .. no she said says " blurry is normal" never tells us give it two weeks on your trial pair in fact no time frame was suggested on when this blurry should subside .....and dont open the box!!!! Or you will piss your money away because we WILL NOT exchange or even take back what's left on discount (hey use them for wasting time checking contact vision ) ..... my husband suggest maybe try your fresh new one after a week of blurry to see if it was the contact itself nope was the same issue. How were we to know we had no instruction. - Just oh you got them in oh good pay us yep blurry normal - I'm not debating an open box full return but if someone is new to contacts would you not tell them that - after we were told burry is " normal " NO...then it's not normal it's a test run. How would a person new to contact know it's a test run and for how long ....When before they left the store they let you know it's blurry in the right eye !!! Oh but get this another worker there when we returned after. Week of blurry says she has a stigmatism on her chart she needs this contact they try it and perfect in store no blurry no issue . Ok then of course now I owe money for their ball drop instead of 125 that was wasted it's 80 something because of the same promotion that was still in play ( 6 months worth) Wait didn't I ask if the 125 last time was for the contact and exam and she said no the exam was free that's just contacts but now these contacts that are 10 dollars more for 6 months but at check out today are now 80 something at check out with the same promotion. Didn't have a eye exam just a black spoon to cover 1 eye. Something don't add up clearly . You guys should be ashamed of yourself. I'm only giving 1 star because I got in the same day I called now I know why you guys have a lot of free time .
