Said I'd get a discount if I put down some information, and I had to stop him once he got to my SSN. Second time: Some lady yelled at me cause I went into an (open) area that was near a construction zone. Was super unfriendly and when I said I was looking for a bathroom she answered with tons of attitude saying there's no bathrooms open. I cannot recommend shopping here. It's poor service and you'd be better off just finding their stuff for cheaper on Amazon.

The big difference is that Sierra works on an off-price model, similar to TJ Maxx, which means they buy overstock and past-season gear from major outdoor brands and sell it at significant discounts. Because of that, you can sometimes find the same brands you'd see at REI such as The North Face, Smartwool, Fjällräven, Carhartt, and other outdoor favorites, but at much lower prices. The inventory changes constantly, so the store has more of a "treasure hunt" feeling rather than the predictable layout you get at traditional sporting goods stores. Fort Collins is the perfect place for a store like this since the whole town revolves around hiking, running, skiing, and outdoor life, and Sierra offers a great way to find quality gear without paying full retail.

Runners Roost has been part of the Colorado running culture since 1977, when the first location opened in Colorado Springs. Over the years it has grown carefully to about ten locations across the Front Range, while still keeping that independent, community-driven feel. The Fort Collins store absolutely carries that spirit. Even though I didn't end up buying shoes this time, I really enjoyed the energy and vibe of the shop. It's welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly built around people who actually run and understand the sport. They also carry a serious lineup of brands. You'll find running staples like HOKA, Brooks, Saucony, ASICS, New Balance, Altra, and On, along with apparel and gear designed specifically for runners and endurance athletes. What stood out to me most was the variety. Whether you're a serious marathon runner, a trail runner, or someone who just wants a comfortable pair of walking shoes, there are plenty of options to explore. Fort Collins has a lot of great shops in Old Town, but places with nearly 50 years of running heritage are rare. Runners Roost is one of them. Definitely worth stopping in if you care about running, walking, or just want to browse a store that actually knows its craft.

If I go in kind of knowing what I am looking for, I can usually get what I need. Don't be shy, as it has been my experience that they let you look around. If you have a question, go ahead and ask them. I have used them to supply my running, swimming, biking and fueling needs. Not the cheapest but It is so good to have a store in town that loves all the endurance sports. Local with a lot of good advice, suggestions and stories. I will continue to go back to them.

A friend of mine from Minnesota…read moreused to drive past the huge Scheels billboards whenever I visited, and for some reason I assumed it was more of a farm supply type place where people bought machinery and work clothes. Because of that completely wrong assumption, I never bothered to go in. Fast forward a few years and after reading the reviews here in Colorado I finally decided I had to see it for myself. Yesterday, March 6th, the weather was miserable. Cold, windy, light snow and rain. Not the kind of day you want to be outside, let alone skiing. So I figured it was the perfect day to finally give Scheels a try. I ended up spending five hours in the store and taking more than 250 photos, and this place absolutely blew my mind. There were sports and equipment sections I didn't even know existed. The store truly has everything you could possibly need and then some. What impressed me most was the staff. They were knowledgeable and helpful but didn't hover every five seconds like some stores do, which allowed me to really explore and absorb everything. The shoe selection was outstanding with every kind of running shoe, ski boot, work boot and outdoor footwear you could imagine, and the shoe staff were clearly well trained helping customers. I also spent about 45 minutes in the luggage section, which was surprisingly impressive. It's clearly a curated department run by someone who truly understands travel. I spoke with a luggage specialist who I believe is from Asia and a serious world traveler herself. She was incredibly knowledgeable and immediately understood what I meant when I told her I was tired of hard-sided luggage and wanted something built for an active lifestyle. She introduced me to a beautiful 100-liter Patagonia rolling duffel with durable wheels, strong zippers, and soft-sided construction that can actually handle real travel. These types of bags come with lifetime guarantees on the wheels and zippers, and now I'm officially saving my pennies to buy one. The store itself was alive and buzzing with families, couples, hunters, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. The only section that felt a little thin was the women's golf apparel where most of the XS sizes were gone, while the men's golf section was very well stocked. Parking was plentiful and easy. Scheels isn't just a sporting goods store. It's an experience.

Colorado gifts, Denver broncos, nuggets, and avalanche collectibles. Hunting, fishing, guns, ammo, knives, barbecue supplies, a sportsman's dream come true. I was blown away by the customer service, kindness, and kindness professionalism of these owner-operators. I just wish it were a little closer to my house.
