But this afternoon I arrived at Whiteside's at 3pm (on a Saturday!) and they repaired the heels on my dress shoes, lickety-split, while I waited. My shoes look brand new. Runners Roost has been part of the Colorado running culture since 1977, when the first location opened in Colorado Springs. Over the years it has grown carefully to about ten locations across the Front Range, while still keeping that independent, community-driven feel. The Fort Collins store absolutely carries that spirit. Even though I didn't end up buying shoes this time, I really enjoyed the energy and vibe of the shop. It's welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly built around people who actually run and understand the sport. They also carry a serious lineup of brands. You'll find running staples like HOKA, Brooks, Saucony, ASICS, New Balance, Altra, and On, along with apparel and gear designed specifically for runners and endurance athletes. What stood out to me most was the variety. Whether you're a serious marathon runner, a trail runner, or someone who just wants a comfortable pair of walking shoes, there are plenty of options to explore. Fort Collins has a lot of great shops in Old Town, but places with nearly 50 years of running heritage are rare. Runners Roost is one of them. Definitely worth stopping in if you care about running, walking, or just want to browse a store that actually knows its craft.

I wasn't sure what I wanted/needed so I tried on like pair after pair after pair lol! I was in there for at least an hour. The girls were so helpful and patient. I ended up going with a pair of black suede booties. I am so happy with my purchase. It is because of their help that I made a great decision on a pair of shoes that I can wear with anything. Two weeks later, I know I made a great purchase because I still haven't changed my mind about them :)

I bought boots from Whitesides in Greeley and I wore them twice. I noticed a big glob of glue in…read more two places on each boot at the seam of the sole and barely touched it and it came off exposing where the seam of the sole was coming apart from the the boot. I wear these for dancing so I knew they would not last well. I took them back to the store and I was immediately told that because I wore them I could not return them or exchange them. I had brought my receipt, the box, and everything for the boots. The employees were extremely rude and the manager took one of the boots back to a male employee who tried to tell me the boots were fine and it didn't matter because it looked like I had wore them alot and since I wore them outside they would not take them back. I told him I would make sure that people were aware of their purchases there and how even when they sold defective boots they could not be returned. He was extremely rude and condescending, and his hands were shaking like a little chihuahua as he put the cardboard back in the boots. He obviously knew that the boots were defective and he didn't like being called out. These were only one of many boots I had purchased through my life and it completely baffles me that a store would not return a boot they sold that was obviously defective, and on top of that treat a customer so rude. I would stick to Boot Barn or somewhere else before I would ever purchase anything from this store again. They obviously sold a boot they knew was defective by the big glob of glue they put on it to hide the defect and then refused to exchange it. I have never had a problem returning a boot that I had a problem with before worn or not. You're definitely better off staying away from this store if you don't want to waste your money. I would never trust these people to stand behind their product which makes me wonder about their products.

I was instantly greeted by the gal at the counter, who was ringing someone up, and said that someone be available if I needed help finding something. I began browsing through the racks and a gentleman swung by and kindly asked if I needed any assistance finding something. I explained my reasoning for stopping in, I was on the hunt for a Carhartt jacket with specifics (certain cut, pockets, fabric, color, etc). Happy to help he showed me some options. With all my questions/requests, Maddie, also assisted, and she was beyond great. She reviewed all the options as well as provided me with prices and sizes that were available. She was so knowledgeable and was a true help. Once I made my selection, she assured me that if this wasn't "the Jacket", that I could bring it back to exchange it for a more desired one. Also, she included a catalog just incase it was easier to review the options with the gift receiver. I would absolutely shop here again as well as recommend this place SPECIFICALLY, because of the customer service. Thank you for the great experience.

I was interested in and the second was to find out the price of a second jacket. I was interested in and both times I was basically shunned ignored and treated very poorly. Once I stated my displeasure and told them I used to be in retail and I would never have treated a customer the way they were treating me. They finally snapped to it and got me the results that I needed. Got me the price on the one jacket and fixed the zipper on the other jacket that was off track very unprofessional. I asked them.
