So I've shopped at famous footwear for most of my life on and off particularly when they would have their buy one get one half off sales. I hadn't been in about four or five years so I don't know if it's just this particular location, but I just went into the store and I have never ever gone into a shoe store where I did not like ONE pair of shoes. I was exclusively looking at sandals -sneakers I can't speak to as I didn't pay attention to them. I am like literally an awe right now like totally totally shocked that I literally found one shoe uglier than the last. Seems like every sandal was either made of that basket weaving material or rubber and like a very cheap looking rubber at that. Needless to say I won't be back. I'm going to check out another location because it's just not possible that that could be the only sandal selection they have. I went to DSW recently and literally could not choose between like six different sandals that I was in love with. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

Came in to see if anything spoke to me. I am also on the hunt for shoes for the girls. They are growing so fast. The older one has been kind of finicky with things bothering her in the front of her ankle when walking so it has been hard to find shoes she feels comfy in. Clean store and we had a very friendly clerk help us. If you are looking for shoes this a great place to go. If your looking for a good deal wait for a sale from the store or manufacturers. The manager was rude and useless! Before I went to the store I googled what time the store closes and I still had 2 hours! When I arrived at the store they were still opened for business and there were customers still stopping inside. The manger did not let me walk any further and told me the store was closed. There isn't any customer service at this location. All the young associates are too immature to know what work means, they just look at their phones and gossip, while the manager is noticeable but he obviously cannot get a grip of his employees. I just yelped the hours and Yelp says the hours were just updated 3 months ago and there was still 38mins till closing. The manager obviously does not care about having business and has no idea what customer service is! Do not expect any customer service at this location! NEVER shop here. In fact, please boycott ALL Famous Footwear locations. It appears perfectly acceptable to shoplift here or any Famous Footwear because the company allows it. The manager of this store was terminated for stopping a shoplifter at the door, asked her to give her the shoes back she was shoplifting. The shoplifter refused, wasn't harassed or chased. The shoplifter HERSELF called and complained to corporate ( probably because she dropped one of the shoes on her way out). The manager who has worked at this company for 32 yrs was TERMINATED by phone. This is why prices are high. It appears that Famous Footwear doesn't care if you buy OR steal their inventory and obviously is a company that does not support their dedicated staff. Why do business with them? So we took our grandson for tennis shoes and he wanted to wear them out of the store we had the box in our hand so we could pay for him and he left with his parents as my son and I were still in the store paying for his shoes and my sons shoes. The manager was very rude won't be back to this store. The other girl that checked us out was great. The manager shouldn't assume someone is going to rip them off. Since we very clearly said we are paying for them. Definitely would think about management for this store as the others I have been to don't treat customers or look at them like they are trying to walk out without paying. Made a stop to see if they had any decent sales for kids shoes because one of my boys can destroy a pair of shoes in two months...literally every two months. Right when we walked in someone asked us if we needed help. I declined since I wanted to look and see what they had. She left is alone for a few minutes, but then kept showing up every where we went. I dont know if she was bored, thought I looked suspicious or what lol, but it was quite irritating since I had just told her I didn't need help. They were out of a lot of styles on the size we needed, and no great sales. The store itself was pretty clean and organized. We used to come often because with their rewards program and such they've always had pretty good deals. The last few times however it seems they are increasing their prices like crazy. We ended up elsewhere and probably won't return. read more

When I called them to get one of the charges reversed they said there was nothing they could do about it. The store itself is fine, cute shoes and usually good deals but I went in today with a friend and her toddler just browsing the new fall shoes they got in and the woman working the front was so incredibly rude. Asked if we needed help to which we said no thank you, we're just looking and then she was continuously following us around the store as if we were gonna steal something. As we were leaving the store empty handed she asked if we were getting anything, we smiled and said "no not today but thank you" to which she responded with an eye roll and "mkay" in the snottiest tone. Another specialty store, in another strip mall. Yee-haw. (Sarcasm dripping from my keyboard). Selection here is nothing to brag about, especially for running shoes. They carry New-Balances and Nikes, but that's about it. For more selection on athletic shoes, go to Dick's Sporting Goods. Their casual and dress shoe selection is pretty impressive. I love the whole 90s grunge look that is coming back and they have plenty of this in stock. In the front, towards the cash registers and near the window, they have cool shoes that you don't notice until you're ready to check out. Missed out on those ones. Prices are "OK" but for a shoe store, I'd expect a better deal. Running shoes are on better sale as sporting goods. They have clearance racks, but they are usually picked over pretty thoroughly, unless you have size 11+ feet. A quick stop, in and out. It's a shoe store, not brain surgery. read more

Famous Footwear has had many items stolen. That is why they watch their merchandise so closely. I don't blame them. They are very nice and helpful. I shopped there recently and I am going again today. I love their Berkinstocks. I have a foot problem, and the Berkinstocks help me walk. So if you are unhappy Tammie, try to understand their position. It is the only store I go to for shoes. They have a right to protect their merchandise. They are always very helpful to me. You'll never do any business when you don't say hi/greet the customers or give any kind of acknowledgement. Two employees standing around not helping anyone at the front can't even say hi to their customers as they walk in or offer advice or help with their shopping needs . I used to love this Famous Footwear however the last several times I was in there I was followed around the store and stared at the whole time as if I were getting ready to steal at any moment. One evening I was in there and the two females working were horribly rude. One is a younger female who is not friendly and just stares at you like you're annoying her and the older female basically let me know that they were ready to close and there was still 10 minutes before closing and I wanted to purchase a pair of boots I needed for work. Well, they made me feel so uncomfortable I just let them know I got the hint and I left and was visibly upset because of the poor treatment I got. The lady was all concerned once she saw my friends come and ask me what happened and she just didn't know why I was upset. The next time the tall gentleman that was working with the rude younger girl followed me the WHOLE TIME I was in the store. I was speaking to another customer and having fun looking at boots with her and he stood there and was in on the conversation the whole time and I just left again. I won't be going back to that store even though I live in a small town and it's the closest one to me. I would rather pay $100.00 more in gas to go to a different one than go get treated like a criminal at this poorly staffed one. read more

I stopped in to this Famous Footwear store in Surprise Town Center on 6/24/19 in the am. There were two people working behind the counter, a woman working on paper work and a young guy just standing. Neither said hello, only the woman made eye contact and smiled. There was one customer already in the store when I walked in and shortly after the guy behind the counter asked the other customer if he needed help finding anything. I looked around for a bit and made eye contact with the woman thinking she would ask if I needed help but she just looked at me and smiled, three times! When the young man was finished with the other customer I assumed he would approach me to ask if I needed help but instead he walked to the opposite side of the store and began putting boxes away. I was there to make a purchase of there best comfort shoe regardless of the price but ended up leaving after no one offered me any assistance!! I will Never return!! Btw, I ended up down the street at the RedWing store where I spent $250 on shoes. I can't even say this was the worst service ever because I never received any!!!! read more

Unfortunately, we had an experience similar to Tammie L. We were followed around as if we were thiefs. The boxes of shoes were a mess and my daughter who is 7 was pushing them in nicely in an effort to help. We were making the final decision on our 2nd pair of shoes when a female employee comes down our aisle and says hatefully "so you're the culprit" as she turned down the next aisle she says " don't do that. Don't push those boxes!" Her tone was so rude and devastated my daughter. She looked to the ground trying not to cry. I addressed this with the woman and she made excuses and only after she realized this whole situation was completely petty did she apologize. Bullying a 7 year old. Really?! Good job. Next time, be a professional and address me as the parent. My children are smart, respectful, kind human beings none of this was called for. Thanks for ruining our evening and the last night before school starts without their favorite shoes to wear tomorrow. I would not spend 1 single cent in this store. Do not shop Famous Footwear. This company utilizes a 3rd party to track returns via your Driver's License. It is called The Retail Equation(TRE). They receive your personal info via Famous Footwear, Best Buy and Home Depot. There are others but these are the ones I have read hundreds of online complaints about. They do not track purchases just returns. If you return, what they feel is too many, you get a notice that you can no longer make returns. Crazy?, yes, insane? you bet. I purchased 25 prs of shoes, boots and sandals at Famous Footwear online. In a year I returned 5 pair w/receipts in box perfect condition. It doesn't matter how much you buy but rather they track your returns. As far as I am concerned it is illegal and violates consumer rights. They should not be giving our personal info to a 3rd party. So my warning is NEVER give them your driver's license although they may demand it to process a return. All info is then sent to TRE which is a bunch of rude foreigners you can't understand. Yes very scary that your personal info is being passed around by Famous Footwear. Do your research on this company and you will see. I will no longer shop at FF because of this and I spent big $$$ there. It is not a good way to treat your customers. There are plenty of stores who do NOT utilize TRE services and who do not put your personal info in jeopardy. read more
