This review is for the Brandon Store In June 2025 my 8 year old GE French Door fridge crapped out bad condenser. Lost some frozen and fresh food due to the issue. While I love using Abt Electronics out of Chicago - due to the rush circumstances I had to rush the order and decided on F Tate (insert any F word you want)... Within a few days I received the replacement I ordered and within the day, it stopped working! More food gone bad! Called Ken Gough and emailed... Ken indicated he had no ability to provide a prompt a quick turnaround for a replacement. A new order was placed...That fridge did not last even 8 hours and it was not cooling! Yes - more food was spoiled and tossed out. 3rd try... I finally got a GE Fridge that worked! I have had conversations with Ken, by phone as well email. He is ineffective at any level of customer empathy, or responding in a Service minded manner! Takes an order acts rushed most of the time... he is selling only to help Ken Gough make a buck! I have asked for some consideration due to their reseller relationship with GE - that I would be provided any form of remuneration for the amount of food loss and time invested in a final resolution. NOTHING offered! This is the last time I will buy anything from F Tate Appliance... and I will be proactive to insert bad reviews to folks I know as well on the Nextdoor app for my community and Facebook too! read more

We get all our major appliances from Famous Tate. The service is always great. The sales professionals are ready to answer any questions you may have. They have great rebates and discounts, as well as great warranties. Their installation and delivery teams are also great. Our most recent visit was to get a newer Tempur-Pedic mattress to replace our 15 year old one. The one we had was still wonderful. It probably would have lasted another 5 more years, but we wanted the latest LUXEbreeze technology with the cooling properties. I think the biggest decision we had was whether to get a soft or firm mattress. Bobby was super helpful through the entire process. He pointed out that there is a 60 night sleep satisfaction comfort guarantee. We could always exchange the mattress if we found the bed to be too firm or soft (or for whatever reason). We also timed everything right with the rebate and President's Day Sale. Yes, they're expensive. All I can say is it's well worth the cost when it comes to comfort and a good night's sleep. No buyer's remorse whatsoever. We would do it again in a heartbeat. We love our new mattress! Also, I have to agree with other reviewers. DO get that 5 year warranty on major appliances! It's really a small price to pay. We recently had a dryer and a dishwasher that needed repair. We purchased them back in 2020. The LG dryer would have been a costly repair. They initially replaced the rollers, belt, and some other doohickey. It was still making a horrible sound when turning. They ended up replacing the drum. Thankfully it was under warranty. The plastic detergent dispenser on the Frigidaire dishwasher broke. They sent the part in the mail within 2 days and the repair was done within 5 days of calling it into the warranty department. This review is for the Lutz/ Land O Lakes Store This for the CEO/President of Famous Tate Tampa Fl JOHN HORST I spent 20 minutes on Saturday May 24 (around 1230 PM to 1PM )Looking for a Bosch replacement dishwasher for my sons family as a gift due to the flood damage from the most recent hurricanes affecting Tampa. They are finally able to put there home together. As I walked in the older lady at the front desk never looked up or acknowledged that i was their., she was way too busy at her computer. Their were 7 sales people that appeared to be available, 2 helping customers ( the only two customers in the store besides me) , 1 wondering around that walked past me , making eye contact but not engaging me, and 4 seating at their desks one on which was on the phone part of the time . Each made eye contact with me as I walked in and then went back their staring at their desks or computers one just leaning back and putting his hands on the back of his head, i guess taking a rest for being over worked. I viewed every dish washer using my phone for the model they wanted at least 3 times walking though all the areas of the store that had dish washers displayed. I looked at each sales person without a customer and headed to the door , again the lady at the front dest by the door never looked up till at commented to her that " I guess your sales people are too busy to help me ) and i left . Customer service has went to helI, constantly since the end of last year, I feel I have to beg people to take my money to make a purchase. I refuse to deal with sales people/ stores that treat people in this manner. It is obvious this attitude comes from their manage I have spent a life time in Customer Care watching it go up and down and this store is on a down spiral. I left and drove to the Armenia Store. We had an amazing experience with Famous Tate. We walked in and headed straight to the section we were interested in. We already had done our research and knew exactly what we wanted. Steve, our salesperson approached us and we told him what we were looking for. A complete new kitchen package. He showed us exactly what we wanted. He didnt try to upsell us or give us a problem when we told him we were on a budget. I needed a new dishwasher and I wanted a Bosch. Well it's 2021 and the Bosch dishwashers are backordered a year. The kitchenaid I have had for 5 years is the worst dishwasher I have ever used, I bought it from Lowe's and the installer left it loose in the cabinet, and the machine needed several service calls where nothing was fixed, and we regularly had to wash entire loads 2x and still didn't have clean dishes. So I saved money and was ready to buy my Bosch and then found out they were backordered. Well, I only wanted a Bosch. Or a Miele. My salesman, I think his name was bob, he has a springy ball that holds pens on his desk. He was awesome. He pulled up the a list of the dishwashers they could deliver this week, and there was only two. I didn't want them. Then he pulled up scratch and dent ones and we looked and those and I didn't want them. The ones I could get were either out of my price range or not a brand I wanted. I was about to leave, then asked how many famous Tate's could deliver to my house, and he said ELEVEN! So I asked if we could look at the list of all their scratch and dents and see if there was a stainless steel Bosch. Well GUESS WHAT, there was a scratch and dent Bosch 500 in another location and I asked if I had to drive it to see it. He said I could just pay a 25% deposit and they'd bring it to my store and I could look at it. If I didn't like it, it was fully refundable. So we did that, and these pictures are my first look at this perfect dishwasher. We couldn't even find a scratch or dent on it. And I got it discounted! The installation men were amazing, and my yorkie ran out the front door to greet them and they helped me catch her (she's crazy) and they installed the machine beautifully, and I'm never buying an appliance anywhere else. Famous Tate gets my business forever. And this dishwasher... I did a normal load with dishes that went through two cycles in the old kitchen aid. One spoon had crusty dried on bits I couldn't even scrape off. In one load it came out crystal clean. I bet I could put peanut butter jar in it and it would come out clean! I love this dishwasher. So much! I also bought a fridge a few years ago with the same salesman and it's never had a single issue. I couldn't be happier with this store. Love love love! read more

I used to like this retail place, but after the service I have received, I will only go with the majors - Home Depot and Lowes. I purchased a dishwasher around Christmas time. Everything seemed ok. 4 months after buying the dishwasher; the front panel had a crack where the digital setting panel was located. The repair people they had me contact, RR Appliances, have rescheduled eight times on me. I've had to take eight days off work to accommodate their schedule. Four weeks ago, the dishwasher had an error message and stopped working. I had to hand-drain the dishwasher as it would not turn on, and it still will not turn on. I called the store to see if there was another option, and the manager was unavailable. However, the person answering the phone said he would call me back, but I have never received a call back from the store. I don't know what my next steps should be. My dishwasher has not worked in 4 weeks. I paid over $500 for the dishwasher and I can't get help from Famous Tates or the Service Company. read more

This is a review about the delivery company that Famous Tate in Brandon uses. In Sept 2021, I bought a Speed Queen washer and dryer model 7. Only the washer was delivered that month because the dryer was on back order. Still I remember the delivery crew couldn't wait to get in and get out! Early Oct 2021, the Speed Queen Dryer was delivered. Again the crew seemed like they were in a big hurry. I tried to vacuum behind the old dryer once they moved it out. They had the new one in the garage ready to go. The look on their faces along with the hands on their hips was like, "Really, you're slowing us up." It took me all but 1-2 minutes because I had everything ready to go to vacuum. They hooked up the gas line and plugged in the electrical cord and turned it on. They let it run for about a minute, turned it off and said, "We don't smell any gas leaks. Speed Queen is a real work horse. You bought a good one." and out the door they went. My wife and I started noticing an occasional possible gas leak in our laundry room in early 2023. At the time, it would quickly dissipate. But over time it slowly got worse and worse. By November 2023, anytime we ran the gas dryer we both could smell the lingering gas in the laundry room. I finally called a plumber who was qualified to deal with possible gas leaks. He found the gas leak at the connection from the house line to the dryer gas fitting. I asked the plumber why this happened. "It happened for a couple of reasons. Even though the person who installed the gas dryer had tightened the joint very very tight, he didn't use any "Pipe Dope or Pipe Thread Sealer. You have to use some kind of sealant on the threads of a gas line. Otherwise over time it's going to leak gas due to the vibration of the dryer." The plumber charged me $200.00 to find the leak and to seal the gas line leak. Also we bought the Speed Queen 7 which is suppose to have a "Steam Feature" to help take out wrinkles. The water-line was never hooked-up to the dryer at the time of delivery. Again, I guess they were in a big big hurry. It still hasn't been hooked up. I spoke with the manager at Brandon Famous Tate at the end of December 2023, he only said, "I'll speak to the owner of the Delivery company. I'm sorry this happened to you." read more

While I wanted to give this place a 5 star rating, I feel that would be misleading. I will explain below in a two part rating instead. I will give this business a 5 star rating for showroom appearance, availability of sales persons, and the level of knowledge of sales reps. I also want to say that the sales reps are attentive , but not annoying. They will step away for some time to give you time to explore options. I purchased a brand new washer and dryer. The sale rep knew them inside and out. This was a fabulous experience. Left happy with what I had purchased, and the available delivery times were as expected. You will need someone there to receive the items. I also want to say that my rep also priced checked the washer Dryer while I sat there and showed me that they were the best price for these items. Impressive. This is where it goes downhill. Three day's of using my brand new dryer, and it started making a very loud tick sound like something was hitting on the inside. I called famous Tate and spoke to my original sales rep. He was very helpful in that he scheduled my service with the warranty company. He explained the this is common and could be fixed right away. He also said if I was not happy with that he would arrange for a new one to be delivered. I agreed to have the manufacturer look at it, but make sure that he went over the entire dryer before he left this time. The evening before my scheduled time, the warranty tech called to say that this dryer was not I. Warranty and that I would pay $150 for the visit. At this time I couldn't find my receipt for the purchase so I cancelled the visit in a panic. After I cancelled the appt I located my receipt and called back famous Tate to schedule them again. When I explained what had happened he said "Well Ma'am a normal conversation goes something like this....we are calling from the warranty company... and proceeded to tell me what to say. Had he scheduled me properly, they would never had asked me about warranty in my opinion. I could have done without the snide remarks and the condescending attitude. The tech came out and fixed the dryer. It was a loose screw. He assured me that it was not stripped and joked that this dryer must have been assembled at 4p on Friday for them to miss that in the factory. We both laughed. Famous Tate's handling of my second call gets a 3 star for condescending remarks, so averaging the 5 for purchase and the 3 for service I give it a 4. read more

In the market for a new fridge as my old one was ready to die. Our salesman, Brian, was very knowledgeable and helped us with our selection. He was able to expedite delivery. Our only issue had to do with the on line tracking. We had our cooler ready to go with ice and waited for tracking to say it was in transit. We needed a dishwasher and strolled in the clearance section, and within 5 mins purchased the Bosch model we were looking for. Store manager happened to walk by and he quickly helped us. The closing agent Christian was friendly and processed invoice and delivery. Later we also looked at mattresses and Christian addressed our questions. Very disappointed in my GE front loader washer that is not even two years old. We went into Famous Tate's to purchase a top loader and we're pushed by the sales rep to buy front loaders, big mistake. On February 16,2018 I called into my extended warranty department to inform them that my washer is not doing the spin cycle anymore and when I opened the washer to get the clothes out, there was a burned rubber smell coming from the washer. A few days later, A technician came out and said that he only needed to clean the filter. He got the washer to spin, but with so much noise and vibration that the floors were shaking. The technician told me that it's because "it's wear and tear" and left. 3 days after he left, the washer stopped working. I looked in the filter to see if it was clogged and found plastics pieces in the filter. I called back and this time I couldn't get a technician to come out until over a week later. This time, the new technician told me that the drum was out of the hinges and hitting the rubber ring near the door. That was why there was burned rubber smell, plastic in the filter and I'm lucky that the drum didn't completely fly out of the washer. He told me he had to order new parts for the washer. Then told me that the parts are on back order. Fast forward to now, I just got all the parts delivered to my house weeks later. I called and made an appointment, got an appointment for Tuesday April 19th between 12-5pm, over a week after parts arriv. I asked the representative to please have the technician call my phone instead of my husband's phone Because he's traveling from California to Florida and have very little cell service. Then at 4:00pm my husband forward me a voicemail from GE service saying we need to reschedule our appointment because the technician couldn't reach my husband. I called the technician back and now we possibly have an appointment for next Tuesday. Are you kidding me???? Why didn't you call my phone like I requested. The problem was initiated on Feb the 16th and now it's going to be maybe April 24th that I can get my washer fix!!!! During all this time I'm paying for a rental washer that is costing me over $50 a week!!!! Not to mention I had to take my clothes to the laundry mat for a couple of week before the second technician came out. At this point I could have brought a new washer!!!! I was never offer any reimbursement for any of this inconvenience and expense. I'm so angry with GE right now. I don't think I can buy another GE product ever again. Update: 4/24/18, GE shows up, missing a part, blamed us for loosing the box then found out it was shipped to a GE repair person, not us. We've now rented a washer for the last 6-8 weeks at $60 per week. At this point we'd really like to toss these in the garbage but we spent way too much on these to do it. The reason we're dinging Famous Tate's here is that once you start dealing with extended warranties their not involved. That said they sold us the appliances and should better support us knowing this situation is stressing everyone out. Waiting 4-6 weeks for parts should be unacceptable to them! Update 4/28: additional parts are now on back order again, they were not able to expedite them. At this point the machine should have been fully replaces, we have two piles of replacement parts in our garage, GE is pretty much owning up to the entire guys of the machine being replaced. 2 months @$50 per week for machine rental, the first two weeks my wife was dragging laundry around to clean at friends houses or laundromats. We expected better for this type of investment Update: Famous Tate had one of their reps jump in to assist us. GE services finally did the right thing and credited the warranty back towards a different-washer model, my wife choose a top loader. This was super aggravating and did cost us money being without the washer for over two months, however, in the end we got rid of the faulty GE front loader and Famous Tate got us a portion of what we spent on a rental washer back, as well as brought in a loner the last week or two we were dealing with this. read more

My experience with Vick was great!! He was able to special order a GE Cafe induction oven for me and beat everyone else's price. They also had a model of this oven on the floor for me to look at, but none of the big box stores had a model to look at. Due to COVID-19 there was a wait for the order, but he kept in constant contact to let me know what the status was. hOnce the oven came into the warehouse, they were able to deliver it within 4 days, not the weeks I have had to wait from other companies. We were pretty desperate when our refrigerator compressor failed three days before Christmas. Our best decision was to go to Famous Tate. Jason found one acceptable sale model in stock that was available for quick delivery and made an exceptional effort (with the support staff) to make that happen the next day.
