So when I called the other vet at 8:02 am Monday morning and they told me that we wouldn't get in, they would call me later with a DATE! I hung up and tried doc Jerri. They asked if I was a client already and I said no. Before I could even explain my sad situation and how much pain my baby girl was in, they asked if 12:30 would work for me? As hard as it was to make this decision, I was so happy that I had finally found the perfect vet!!! Doc Jerri was so wonderful, they had someone come out and help carry her in for me. Had a comforter spread out on the floor for her and the vet techs and whole staff were so understanding and compassionate, I knew that we had come to the right place. Doc Jerri will be my vet when I am ready to get my new fur baby. I highly recommend them. They truly care about the animals and their families here!!! I live in Lakeport, but will gladly drive to Clearlake to see these wonderful people!!!

A little cleanup so we could see her eyes again, face, feet and fanny trim, along with a "peticure". What we really like is that they did just the right amount of grooming, and didn't go overboard. Our terrier mix is, shall we say, quite "active", and her first visit (to Debbie's, or anywhere for that matter) required a second set of hands, and I suspect that there was some minor groomer "casualties" from that visit. This time around was reportedly much easier (on the groomer and our pet). In both cases, however, they said she was "wonderful" (but "much better" on the second visit). This is all to say that it's worth the drive to Cloverdale for a first-rate grooming from a caring and competent business.

The doctors take time to discuss the pets' issues and needs. They both listen to my concerns and my observations, and they take plenty of time talking about our options and explaining things when I have questions. They allow for discussion and have often treated me as an equal partner in determining the best course of action for my pet. I so appreciate this! Though this is a thriving business, I've been able to get appointments within days of calling. And though they always have patients in the waiting room, our wait has never been more than twenty minutes, often less. Today we had my crippled dog in. The vet techs so kindly carried him in his bed from my car. They always are so kind to my animals, giving them lots of love and compliments. They allow me to be in the exam room the whole time. My pets feel comforted and less stressed. We get excellent medical care here too. Majid, my dog, had recurring UTI's. We were with another vet, who didn't have time, and prescribed the same antibiotic that wasn't working, for four rounds!!! Finally I brought Majid to Middletown. They tested him again and Dr. Shackleton identified the bacteria and a different antibiotic to treat it. That worked! It finally resolved his UTI!!! We were so relieved. This vet is also very considerate with the costs of care. They give you a written estimate to approve before doing any treatments. I really appreciate how they listen to my concerns and respond. Since the human caretaker of the pet is the largest component of the pet care over time, it helps that the vets and techs are so respectful and work as a team with you. We've used many vets in the area and Middletown, though it's an hour drive for us, is by far the best. Sometimes it's hard to get the desk on the phone on the first try. But once you do reach someone, they are kind and professional and get what you need taken care of. May all your pets be healthy! And happy. And if you need a vet, I recommend Middletown Animal Hospital.

They also vaccinate the feral cats & tip the ear to be able to ID in the field. Maximum 3 cats per clinic, transported in an appropriate trap. The appts are filled quickly & they accomodate a maximum of 50 cats per clinic. The staff are helpful & professional & the process in early a.m's are efficient & quick. They deserve 5 stars plus & I appreciate all they do for the overwhelming feral community in Lake County.

We called Lake Co AC when these dangerous dogs were once again in our pasture attempting to kill our sheep. The officer went above and beyond-even crawled into a culvert to pull out an injured sheep who had attempted to shelter there! Sadly that ewe died from her injuries, but we are working with AC to hold these terrible dog owners legally accountable for our losses!
