I tend to come here every time I'm in town because we don't have Fannie May out in Nevada and probably will continue to do so in the future. Every employee is so friendly, eager to help, and eager to help you find discounts/bundles. I will say the store is pretty huge for the small selection they have and I know that's not really their fault, it's just a bit weird. They used to have so much more variety and different candies/confectionaries but now it seems like they just have maybe like 5-6 products, each packaged differently. I'll also say that like most chocolate candy stores these days, the items were pretty pricey but when I get these maybe once every two years or so, I'll pay. read more

OK, so last review taken down, let's try again. First, when they were newly opened, they were worth the drive to get good deals on their candy. That is, if you checked regularly & kept good tabs. Here's the news.....that is ALL over. This store literally isn't worth walking to the corner to stop in, if you are close enough to do so. Fortunately those of us far no longer care. I have NO idea why people are milling around but sadly, they apparently aren't wise shoppers. Or else really need some immediate candy fix & price is no object. . Not worth the drive..I used to hit the other Outlet Store in Melrose Park and it was great. This place is just a tad cheaper than standard prices. For Example- they offered Trinidads, 1 pound box for $20. Standard price is $26.00. And the boxes were 3 months old.. so is it worth it to buy Xmas candy in March to save $6 ?? Not for me. read more

I don't really like chocolate, but I'll make an exception for Mint Meltaways. When my sister and I were driving down Harlem and saw a Fannie Mae Outlet, we knew we'd have to turn the car around. I wasn't expecting much from the outside, but once you made it inside, it was a mecca of all of their best chocolates. Since we were here in the middle of August, there was some leftover Easter chocolate as well as just some overstock items. I think the selection will vary based on when you visit. If you come after Christmas, you may have even more choices available to you. The biggest and coolest item for sale here was an entire tray of Mint Meltaways for $19. The sign said it was valued at $99. If I had anyone to share it with, I would have bought it. I decided to skip it though so I didn't eat 10 million calories in one sitting. I did, however, walk out with a bunch of great deals. I spent about $20 and walked out with an entire shopping bag full of goodies. The girl working here was really friendly too. My sister has a disability and tends to repeat herself, but the girl just kept smiling and chatting with her. read more

No reason to travel there. Used to be, but no more. I once made trips there, for hostess gifts & other presents 1-2 times a month. If busy social time, sometimes weekly. But that was then, NOW in the past 4-5 mths, I will no longer even stop, there's literally NO reason to, they've made such clear. Absolutely NO savings & lots of undesirable throw-aways. Truly, why do they even exist? You get better deals when sales are on with the actual stores. But even there, I dunno....not at all what it used to be. overpriced, overrated. Period. Competition has blown them away while FM stays still. Also if you read about their company, NOTHING to champion there either...they outsource, have tossed all their American workers aside & appear shamelessly about profit over people. Truly, check yourself. Few years back, they put more workers on the unemployment line AND were as disgraceful in their employment practices to rival Walmart. That's saying a LOT & hard LOW to hit. But that's really an aside. I'll take my Lindt truffles instead when I bump into a great deal. I happened to stumble by them at front of store at Menards recently at sweet price. FLEW off the shelves. now those MELT in your mouth & nothing FM can compete. . Sorry FM, you LOST it. read more

WATCH YOUR RECEIPT WHEN YOU CHECK OUT- I love this outlet store, shop here often for gifts ( & myself!) But make sure u check your receipt BEFORE you pay....Almost every time I come here, they overcharge me & I always end up putting my own merchandise away & correcting their register...just left there about 5 min ago & they overcharged me $4.80-most people wouldn't even notice that, but when Im buying from an outlet store-for MULTIPLE client's Holiday gifts-I notice! That was almost 1lb. Worth of chocolates that they would have charged me extra for, that I didnt get....GREAT quality Candies, just watch your receipt before u check out. read more

I had the worst customer service experience here! I came in for a simple return because the 14 candy boxes I got had gelatin in it. The employee working there was probably the most racist employee ever. I usually never have problems at stores but this employee disrespected my religion, my morals, my culture, and me. She refused to give refund because she said she didn't care if gelatin was bad for me or not. She showed me attitude like she was the owner of the place while she was probably a very new employee who didn't even know the rule and regulations of the place. She kept saying this is not my problem and I will call the cops if you don't leave. What kind of employee says that to a customer. I also said if you find anything in the store without gelatin or alcohol I will take it but she said she won't waste her time looking at each and every box. She refused to show me the return policy written because she couldn't find it. What kind of store doesn't have return policy written on their receipts or somewhere in the store. The one star is only for the manager who agreed to give the refund at the end after 40 mins. She didn't even apologize at the end ..in fact I apologized for doing this. The employee shouldn't be allowed to work there because of her attitude and her racist nature. It's safe to say that I will never buy a Fannie May product ever and I will ask my family and friends to ban the use of this product also. read more

This is by far the best candy available. When I was a little girl away at camp in Estes Park, CO because as a little girl I was horse crazy and we could ride each day so a friend and I left for horse country. My dad knew I was homesick in spite of the horses so he would send huge boxes of FANNIE MAY Turtles. We always had a box of FM around growing however my mom and dad liked dark chocolate so for awhile I lost interest. But today interested once again. Although pricey, can't stay away from marsh bars and light Carmel's with nuts, also love van creams. I hope you never go away FM. read more

This is an outlet, so the prices of your favorite Fannie May candies are a steal! My personal favorite are the mint meltaways and I also enjoy the pixies. I've been addicted to this candy - the meltaways in particular - since I was a child. I do wish the online experience was better with reasonable shipping costs so I could send gifts to family. In my opinion, this is the best chocolate ever and part of the Chicago experience, a true Chicago icon. read more
