My wife Denise Tozier scheduled an appointment online a few days before. So she proceeds to what she thought was her scheduled appointment, she arrives 10 or 15 minutes early she walks through the door and the salon wasn't busy nobody waiting, so she says to the beautician, my name is Denise, I have a scheduled appointment in 15 minutes. The person looked on the scheduling and commences telling my wife, I'm sorry but we don't have you scheduled, my wife says well I went online and booked the appointment so I'm here for my appointment. Beautician says I'm sorry but we don't have you scheduled. Furthermore, nobody was waiting, one beautician was busy cutting hair. My point is they could have and should have taken my wife in anyway for the error in the system or whatever the reason was for her appointment not being in the system. As ligit customer service and I've worked in many jobs where the customer is or has been always right, an employee or employer does not and should not send a customer away especially if the business wants to be a respectful business. This hair salon did not fulfill that responsibility of taking care of a customer. Very unsatisfactory in customer service. Mane so, that their prices are low enough where sending a customer away out the door...... Very uncalled for! Sad thing is, my wife has been here before several times in the past with no issues up until now recently! I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE! They do not put customers first! I give one Star if that! Totally uncalled in the customer service area! Poor performance too on their part or you would have taken care of my wife for the issue which wasn't hers! Don't go here! I had an appoint with Angela at this location. This was the worst experience at a hair salon I have ever had in my life. I booked a cut/color/style and left feeling absolutely terrible. One of her hands was shaking uncontrollably so my hair is so uneven!! She did not brush my hair!! She used her fingers to try and pull apart the knots. Ripping my hair and causing pain/an uncomfortable experience the whole time! She left bleach on my hair for over an hour and my hair was fried by one repair- she cut bangs (terribly) so the ends that were fried are gone for the most part. I do have two uneven streaks that I'm sure are damaged. The top is an orange and the bottom is black. She did not tone it after (probably because she saw it was so damaged.) She globbed black dye over my tangled hair disbursing it unevenly. I had black dye all over my face, ears, hands from unknowingly touching the cape, and legs from the splatter. She was shaking the whole time putting on the bleach, dye, and cutting my hair. One side of my hair is longer than the other- now I have to chop off more to make it even!! The bangs are terrible and not blended at all. I went in to boost confidence and left feeling horrible. read more

I have so far had Marilyn for a haircut and Maja for my perm and haircut. I have been pleased both times and from being on the phone with other stylists as well. The ladies that don't work directly on your hair are willing to contribute opinions to the stylist working on you. That shows they really care about maintaining professionalism across the board. Yes, so they take "call aheads" the week of and not appointments weeks/months in advance. That's how they work. Their prices are reasonable and the haircut Includes the wash. The perm includes the wash, cut and style!!! I did not have the same experience with my perm as the previous reviewer had mentioned. Maja did a great job and I will go back. I have been going to Fantastic Sams for years to have my hair colored by Barbara. I love how she listens to what I want, and always gently lets me know what is realistic and what isn't considering I have naturally dark hair. We have done reds, purple and now caramel/chocolate bolyage and she slays it every time! The other stylists are always smiling as well, and they are always attentive to greeting people coming in and answering the phones. read more

Carly is the very , very best ! I've been going to her since right after she came to the Salon. She is always so pleasant. She takes the time to listen to what you have in mind. If she has a concern she will always ask her coworker Racheal for her opinion. The two of them are what makes the salon. They are the cornerstones of this salon. I love going in to see them. Only downside is I've noticed the other stylists seem to come and go. Makes me wonder what happens behind the scenes. read more

I visited the Largo Fantastic Sams on Ulmerton on the advice from a friend who had a great experience there. Melanie was my hair stylist. She was very nice and took time to ask me what I wanted. She didn't rush through my haircut as some stylists seem to do. She did a great job and when she was finished my hair looked great. She also did a shampoo that got rid of all the hair off my neck. The only reason I gave this establishment one star, is because I have to. This salon recently opened and so, having recently lost my hairstylist due to her moving, I decided to try it. I called first, to ask if I needed an appointment. I was told "NO, we don't make appointments. It's basically first come, first served." Okay. I got there and there were two people ahead of me on line, at the reception desk, and four people seated. The two ladies ahead of me were told "NO appointments" The wait time for a certain stylist would be two hours, so they would have to come back. The ladies were disgruntled, but they agreed. I was told my wait time would be about 45 minutes, as there were only two stylists available and a third was on the way. I agreed to the wait, grabbed some magazines and sat down. Several more people came in and were told "NO APPOINTMENTS" and the wait time would be after 2PM that afternoon, if they wanted to come back. Listening to the people sitting next to me, I gathered they had already waited about 1/2 hour. The lady for a cut and her husband for a trim. Across from us sat an elderly woman, in her 80's, and her caretaker. They had also already waited over 1/2 hour. After another half hour passed, the elder lady asked how much longer she would have to wait. She had been told to be there at 11:00 and it was five after. The receptionist told her the stylist was on the way. The lady was upset, as she was told she had an 11:00 appointment. "WE DON'T MAKE APPOINTMENTS" repeated the receptionist. She told the lady the stylist would take her, as soon as she arrived. A "twenty something" then walked in and announced she had an appointment for a wax with the stylist who was "on her way". When told the stylist hadn't arrived yet, the girl said "Well, I'm her best friend and I know she's here around 11:00 and she told me to come in for my wax!" She was told to take a seat. Five minutes later, the stylist comes breezing in and rushes to the back. Then she comes up to the receptionist and said she would take her friend first, then start on the next person. Her friend, who had waited all of five minutes, jumped up to get waxed. Everyone seated, who had waited nearly an hour, was shocked. The old woman asked why the young girl got to go first, when she had waited longer and she was told "Because she HAD AN APPOINTMENT." The old woman was then told she would have to wait about another half hour. Let me tell you, that pissed me off!!! I got up and said "You're taking that girl first, because she's the stylist's best friend and you're making the old woman wait another half hour? That's disgusting!" The receptionist then tried to tell me the girl wasn't the stylist's friend and the guy next to me got angry and said "Yes she is, she said so when she came in!" But, the receptionist tried to tell me, the girl "HAD AN APPOINTMENT." "NO" I said "You don't make appointments, remember!?! Then everybody started to complain and the receptionist was just standing there, trying to make excuses.... I walked out and I will never go back there again. Poorly run, poor customer service, disrespectful to the elderly, they lie to your face and they're rude!!!! If you want a reasonably priced cut - try West Bay Clippers, on West Bay Drive. Went in to make an appt. Showed girl video of what i wanted. She said no problem and made an appt for me. She cut way too much hair off and color was blonde\yellow not silver like she said she could do no problem. Said she would fix it and make it right. HA....did not happen. Her and her manager both kept feeding me lines. Said it was a 2 to 3 step process...never told to me before she ruined my hair. So i would never go back not even to have simple shampoo only. They lie and do not know their stuff. They all need to be retrained on the new colors and proper way to strip and color hair. i went in not too long ago to see a stylist named kayla who that i heard did good hair. not sure if she was having a bad day but to me she seemed like a sweet girl at first but that turned into her speaking poorly about her other clients. as she is speaking about her clients she is taking away time from actually paying attention to my hair color. she proceeds to then speak about "caitlyn jenner" and if anyone knew about this public figure its a sensitive subject, i really felt uncomfortable. im sitting here thinking is my color going to come out ok? and is this girl going to be speaking about me to other people when i leave her chair? at the end of it all, the color ended up irritating my scalp and she seemed to have missed a few grey areas. i dont think i will be returning to fantastic sams and wouldnt recommend anyone going to this salon. cheap price cheap service read more

I have been at this fantastic sams before and got good sevice. I made an appointment and sat there for 15 minutes. None of the beauticians were going to be ready anytime soon. If the girl had said she was full but could book me at another time. I would have come at that time. I have only one day off and that is why I make an appointment. Before this, the beautician was always waiting for me. I don't know if I will go back even though I work in the same plaza. horrible ! not only are their prices and service the absolute worse they do not know how to cut and style! went in for a trim and layering..the manager was the "stylist" rachael...totally butchered my hair ! i knew it wasnt right when it was done but i left being assured it is all good. less than 30 minutes later i called bk stating it is worse now than when i cam e in for a style and i wanted to come back..was told "oh no im so sorry i am booked all day but i will make room for you at 3pm" i wasnt happy since i was there at 930ish and there wasnt a soul in the place but now booked? ok ..so i arrive at 230..to see HER being styled and colored !! snd again not a soul in the shop !! asked to have my hair corrected fixed..said it looked awful..she trimmed more off,textured and thinned. my hair is a mess. looks so bad! i paid this inept person 20.00 to ruin my hair!
