I can't enough wonderful things about Crystal. I have been going to her for years. After Covid my roots had grown out quite a bit, pure white against my natural dark color. I have warn people about the lack of care this salon has. 1st time I drove to the salon, spoke with the receptionist told her I have VERY THICK CURLY HAIR. she called over a stylist I spoke with her about full highlights, she agreed I needed extra time I booked the appointment for 3 week later (1 day before my husband retirement party) I show out for my appointment and they had 2 hours (not the 4.5 hours know it tales from having my hair done for over 30 years at Aveda's all over the country) the stylist greets me and says there is no way she can do my hair in that time .. sorry.. walks away. I flip demand to speak to a manager. Manager says they are all booked but is willing to take me the next day at 3pm (two hours after the party I am prepping for) I ask if they can stay late or do tin the morning and she says they are fully booked. So I go to my husband retirement party with 3 inch roots ..... thanks swear to never use the place again. fast forward 3 years, my stylist moves, and I a on a hunt for a new salon. I loved and was loyal to Aveda for 20+ years so I decide to give them anything change. go in talk to front desk again they call up a stylist that is an expert in curly hair. we set up an appointment , I request extra time. I show up and they have me blocked off for 2 hours again. I sit down tell her I want tights and a dusting for a trim I am growing my hair out. she cutes my hai to my shoulders cutting 10 inches (for those of you that don't have curly hair 7 inches of length on my hair springs up to 3-4 inches in length . so I now have a 1980's chopped bell cute that is right below my ears and 4 inches wide on each side all one length no layers and my hair is 4 different colors of chick yellow. After I insist on a toner . I leave and swearing never to return. They might have "Aveda franchise but it is a "Super Cuts" in disguise. read more

I recently had my first visit at this location. I needed a bang trim and a haircut and arranged an appointment with Amber. The space was luxurious and the process itself was very comfortable, but my cut was pretty rugged. I hadn't realized how bad it was until I started styling my hair a week or so after the cut. My bangs looked fine in the low-light salon, but the next day, I noticed she missed many little pieces in my bangs, which is quite noticeable considering I asked for a very blunt bang. So there are longer pieces jutting out, making it look like a messy, unprofessional trim. To add to that, they're also very uneven. I asked for the bangs to hit just above my eyebrow, but only the right half of my bangs actually landed in that area. The other half falls below my eyebrow, and it's been an absolute pain to style them to hide the unevenness. On top of the uneven bangs, it looks like she used thinning shears on the top layer of my hair, so there's incredibly short pieces of hair that I cannot style to hide. The short pieces are about as long as my bangs, and my hair is just past my shoulders, so it's very noticeable. I didn't ask for any layers, so I don't think that's what the short pieces of hair are supposed to be. I wanted a blunt cut and a blunt bang, and both of these requests were botched. They do offer a timeframe in which I can return for correction, but the cut is so bad that I simply don't trust returning for correction. read more

Carolyn is my hero! I had another stylist at a different salon color my hair. It was awful- like shame to go out in public awful. When I asked the original stylist to fix it.. she said if she attempted to fix it there was a HIGH chance my roots ( the top 2 inches of root she added via dye) would be brassy and orange. No thank you! Without hesitation Carolyn said she could fix my issue. And she did - no orange - thank goodness! She is a magician! I felt this information needed to be known by any future customers or others who have experienced bad service from this salon and never spoke up about it. First, it should have been a red flag that there are only TWO "master stylists" at this location and I put that in quotes because neither of them are very good. Amber was my stylist for about a year and I was constantly disappointed with my haircut, but it wasn't devastating so I kept going. She then broke her ankle and had to be out of the salon and I got transferred to Crystal. Crystal was horrible at dying my hair but the haircut was good. After this interaction I wanted to go to Amber for dye (I will also note I gave her the EXACT color formula per my previous NYC Aveda hairdresser so she really shouldn't get credit for my amazing hair color) and then Crystal for cut. I had an existing appointment with Amber for cut and color so I just kept it and was disappointed with the cut again (she made me look like Lord Faarquad, as my hair is very thick and she didn't thin it out and create movement AT ALL) so I asked to have Crystal fix it. Amber also put some sort of add-on to my hair color that made it feel crunchy and I wasn't happy with that either (they are constantly trying to upsell product and services, they even send you up to the register with a basket of stuff they used. Tacky.). I came back a few days later and Crystal re-cut my hair and it was better, except she left some of the front pieces longer on one side (on purpose? I have no idea bc I didn't ask for it and I don't like it). I was pretty unhappy but decided to still give it a go, at least ONE more time (I guess I'm just loyal and this is apparently what I get for it) But when I returned for my dye appointment with Amber (that I had scheduled from my last appointment, 6 weeks before) I was told when I got to the salon that THEY HAD CANCELED ME AND SCHEDULED ANOTHER CLIENT! They NEVER called, left messages etc. COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME, and a 30 min drive! Amber claimed that she called and left messages but when I asked to see them she claimed she couldn't show them to me. Pretty convenient. I'm convinced that my appointment was canceled because Amber was upset I was going to a different stylist to get a haircut. Pretty much THEY messed up and then canceled ME. This is the most unprofessional salon. I never got a call from the manager or anything about my cancelled appointment. On a personal note, I should have judged the service by the way the stylists look. Both "master stylists" are a hot mess, their hair is never styled and Amber's in particular looks like a color-damaged birds nest. If you're not going to take care of your own hair how can I trust that you'll take care of mine? I will also note that I have been going to Aveda to get my hair done for over 10 years and my hair is blonde highlighted and very healthy. The ONLY thing good about this salon is that it uses Aveda products, the skill level is subpar. Bottom line: I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone who actually cares about what their hair looks like. read more

Jackie is really great! In case you don't know, they price their stylists based on experience or whatever so if you call and ask for just anyone chances are you will get a bill for anywhere between $34 and $70....I specifically asked for one of the lesser priced stylists because I feel like these girls give as great a haircut as anyone else. I was right! Jackie has apparently been doing hair for over four years and her dedication and attention to detail shows in her work. She was kind, funny, attentive, down to earth and she listened to me! So valuable in a stylist. If I lived here local full time I would go to her regularly...sadly, we travel full time so we are only here sporadically. I'm hoping to always time it to when I need a haircut from now on! Side note: not to be catty or unfair, the girls at the front desk are nice...but not very engaged. If it's the norm you can expect canned courtesy and a sort of vapid reluctance to pay attention to you when you speak. Not a deal breaker...just worth noting. read more

She transformed my dull mid brown hair into a golden mane! She is sweet and fun to chat with while working (or playing as she says) with my hair. Convenient location and very friendly counter staff. First time my stylist was Jadzia and second time Dana. The experience from start to finish was fantastic and I loved my hair! 5 stars! Today, unfortunatelly, different story with my wash/blow dry. Due to a last minute booking, I was scheduled with Crystal. It was a not so good experience. My scalp burned multiple times, she kept blow drying again and again, my hair feels dry and I ended up putting my hair in a bun. Dana gave me killer beach waves in 30min! My first time at Salon West Aveda, Seminole. I made an appointment on Wednesday evening and was offered two stylists. I chose Amanda, a Master Stylist. I was greeted promptly and warmly by the reception staff and offered water, coffee, tea, etc. She did a fabulous job setting the tone for my upcoming service. I was very pleased that Amanda performed a complete and thorough consultation. I came in with hair that had been in a ball cap after working out. I wanted her to see my curl pattern, even in it's current "wrecked" state. We discussed my likes, concerns, and dislikes about my hair. She offered constructive and appropriate suggestions. My shampoo service was thorough and enjoyable. She made it so. I was seated and we continued to have a fabulous conversation about my interests and her interests and her educational background and mine, as well. She is an excellent conversationalist. Amanda thoroughly blended my hair and the remains were swept up promptly so that I would not see my loss, only my gain! She restored my balance, and blended my layers and gave me that "life cut" that encouraged my curl snd removed any lag in my layers. I teach Cosmetology and Amanda did everything right. She gave me an excellent cut, provided a fab vibe throughout the service, and as excited as I was to get a professional hair service, a rarity for me due to my schedule and allowing students to learn from a very particular client, I was more excited with my result. I will return to Amanda for my future hair cuts. She is now my go to girl for hair sculpting services. read more

Salon West Aveda - Crystal saved the day!!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Seminole, Florida

So I walk in the night before and asked to have a consultation with a SENIOR stylist. Was told no problem. Sat with a girl my sons age...ok. Explained my hair history, disasters, repairs, wants, needs and SPECIFICALLY said no bleach. She doesn't even touch my hair just looks at it. I told her many times, you can touch it. Says my color is already close to what I want but can be freshened up and a cut (which I was willing to risk). Despite the few red flags I gave her the benefit. Next day she gets to work. Foils in and no "checking in" on me. I feel tingling and am internally freaking, she used bleach!! She comes back is taking foils out I ask how long she has been a stylist, a little over year!!!! I stay quiet and am horrified that she used bleach! She cuts my hair then said all done. I had to ask for the blow dry and flat iron. Why would I spend hundreds to have my hair just cut and highlighted?!?! She "blows out" my hair and then wants to give me "beach waves" I said no I don't like those. She continues on my damp hair with the flat iron unsuccessful at creating the curls I wanted and continued with the horrid beach waves! I am mortified. I didn't complain I just wanted out! I get home and my husband said I thought you were getting your hair done? EXACTLY!!! My damp hair in the FL humidity turned into a huge fluff ball! I was so scared to use more heat that I put my hair in a bun for a week!!!! With naturally curly hair I only wash once a week and style on special occasions. The "wash" and "olaplex(sp)" sold to me, (insisting it would be the best for my hair) only dried me out so bad that I had to get a deep conditioning treatment elsewhere! The icing....not even a week and the whole front hairline lost its color! I am a high anxiety person and avoid any confrontation. From the beginning I asked for a Senior stylist. Yes my fault for going thru it all but never again! This place is about the $$$ not the special attention to a customers wants. I got a text for my follow up and didn't go. This is my all time favorite salon. It all starts with a warm welcome from Ryan. Then an incredible hair cut and color with Lissett. While your hair is washed she massages your scalp. By the time I get out of there not only do I have great looking hair, but I also feel like a million bucks! They feature great products in the reception area and are always willing to help you decide what will work for your hair. I have used a lot of salons over the years, but this one is by far the best! So disgusted!!!!! Came in on June 6th for a consultation with Kennedy to get my hair dyed and to have extensions in before June 18. She dyed my hair and it came out nothing like the picture of myself when I had brown hair. She did some technique which she had an assistant do the left side of my head while she did my right. She didn't dry it so I didn't see the final look until the next day. My hair was dark brown on top and fade into blonde. There was no consistency to both sides of my head it was very uneven. There were lines with different color hair going vertically. Then I had a consultation with the extension stylist which she ended up Canceling on me because she had a migraine. Therefore never got my hair done right for my event I had to go to. So they rescheduled my consultation on the 29th of June and I had my extension appointment for July 2 which is today. They put me on the books at 5:30 and told me if I get out early from work I could just come right over my appointment was really at 5:45 I got there at 5:50 and she told me that they canceled my appointment because there wasn't enough time to do my extensions. Why book me at that time if there wasn't enough time. One of the stylists called me this afternoon and told me they only had 2 boxes of extensions and that we should do it another day. I told her I had a lot going on and I had to get them done today. I'm already in the hole for 175 for the first dye that came out bad and a 50 dollar tip. I tip the 2nd stylist 50 and paid 45 for my extension consultation. ALSO I purchased about 100 dollars worth of products. This is the worst experience I have ever had. read more

Salon is located in the new Seminole City Center. Very profesional staff, great customer service, and wonderful products. My first-ever visit to an Aveda salon, and I was impressed. My stylist, Lissett, listened to what I wanted, explained every procedure, and showed the cost of everything before proceeding. I normally go to Regis, but my haircolor, cut and style here was less expensive. And, my hair felt healthier AFTER the coloring. The massage chair at the washing station and Lissett's awesome scalp massage were an unexpected treat! They also have an automated appointment system that sends text reminders. May not be new for some, but I never had that at other salons. And since they use Aveda products, the salon smells fresh and clean. I highly recommend you give this place a visit! read more

This salon opened last summer and my hairdresser Daniel Stone moved there from another Salon West Salon. Everyone at the salon is very friendly and the atmosphere is very calming and comfortable. They always offer you something to drink - coffee, water, wine! I love the aveda product line. Now, the best part is my hairdresser Dan. I discovered him at the Aveda School in Clearwater several years ago and I have been following him around ever since! I live in Virginia for half the year and I have even flown down to have him cut and color my hair! He always reinvents me! This week alone I have had 5 compliments on my haircut and it was at my exercise class of all places! If you are in a rut and looking for a new style, Dan is your man!!! This is a new salon in the Seminole City Center. I walked into the salon on Wednesday after the hurricane hit and was taken in immediately. The salon is very upscale, reminds of my favorite New York salons. My hairdresser was Daniel Stone. Before touching my hair, we reviewed together what I wanted. Daniel took out his I-pad and showed me pictures of his interpretation of what I was asking. After agreeing on the cut that I wanted, I was walked back to the shampoo area. The chairs provide a very relaxing massage as your hair is being shampooed. Warm eye pads were placed over my eyes for relaxation with a touch of lavender for aroma therapy. Every step of the way, Daniel inquired as to my comfort. I walked out of the salon with the exact haircut that I wanted. I would definitely return to the salon and I would definitely ask for Daniel. The only reason I gave the salon a "4 star" is because of the price. Make certain that you ask about the charges before you begin. Fortunately, I did ask for the price of a simple haircut before agreeing to the service. I believe they offer gradient costs. Originally, I was quoted $57.00 for a simple haircut. When I did not agree to the cost and began to leave, I was told they have a person who could cut my hair $33.00. To that, I agreed.
