We found Vanessa the owner of Studio Nine through one of her stylists Josh. Josh cuts my husband's hair at Furey's Old Town Barbershop and got us in contact with her. We setup an appointment and were not disappointed with her salon. Her salon has a high glam aesthetic that you cannot find in Salinas. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she is so kind and welcoming. The day of the wedding we had some minor hiccups with our ladies but mostly because of lack of communication on the ladies parts. One of them did not communicate the exact look she wanted so it was redone and another did not realize that the price they were quoted was the base amount and goes up depending on difficulty and length. So make sure that you communicate to your parties the prices are a base and to over communicate the looks they want. Overall however our ladies loved them! We heard raving reviews from all the ladies at the wedding venue when they arrived and they all looked absolutely phenomenal. The prices were reasonable and the location is a gem. I would use them again in a heartbeat for an event.

The third time I went in to get a haircut and she did an amazing job helping me achieve something that framed my face well. Black on top with red underneath. Pedro Trujillo, Maritza's brother, was the beautician who told me he could preform the hair color trend. When I arrived he took 20 minutes to eat his lunch. When I was in the chair he went next door to Walgreens's and got Splat semi permanent BOX HAIR DYE. That obviously didn't work so he went to Sally Beauty and purchased another semi permanent hair dye, which he told me to APPLY MORE EVERY TWO WEEKS!!! I asked for permanent so I didn't have to do my own hair. Hence the reason I went to a salon. He should've had all the products needed in his salon. He took 5 hours to do a service that should've taken an hour and a half max. He did not wear gloves, use a brush to apply color, or wrap individual pieces with foil. He grabbed, pulled, and scrunched my hair to apply the color. I had dye on my neck, forehead, and ears. He gave a walk-in haircut and made me sit and wait. I had an appointment. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in my 51 years. The color lasted two weeks. I asked for a permanent hair color trend. A simple task that any licensed professional beautician should be able to perform. I called Maritza and she apologized at first m, then when I asked for a refund, it ended in her threatening me with religious prosecution! This was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional as a business owner. Pedro Trujillo Sanchez also was yelling at me in front of clients when I went back in for the receipt I wasn't given the day of service. Also unacceptable and unprofessional. This Salon is called "A New Look Salon." BUT they do not have their business name on the business. It's MB Salon. Una tarea sencilla que cualquier esteticista profesional con licencia debería poder realizar. Llamé a Maritza y ella se disculpó al principio, luego, cuando pedí un reembolso, ¡terminó en que me amenazó con enjuiciamiento religioso! Esto fue absolutamente inaceptable y poco profesional como propietario de un negocio. Pedro Trujillo Sánchez también me estaba gritando delante de los clientes cuando volví por el recibo que no me dieron el día del servicio. También es inaceptable y poco profesional. Este salón se llama "A New Look Salon". PERO no tienen el nombre de su negocio en el negocio. Es MB Salon. Maritza ha cambiado el nombre de su negocio varias veces... no ofrecen recibos.
