I would give this salon zero stars if I could. Maritza is the owner who does not care about the quality of service her beauticians deliver. I went in to get a black and red peek-a-boo. Black on top with red underneath. Pedro Trujillo, Maritza's brother, was the beautician who told me he could preform the hair color trend. When I arrived he took 20 minutes to eat his lunch. When I was in the chair he went next door to Walgreens's and got Splat semi permanent BOX HAIR DYE. That obviously didn't work so he went to Sally Beauty and purchased another semi permanent hair dye, which he told me to APPLY MORE EVERY TWO WEEKS!!! I asked for permanent so I didn't have to do my own hair. Hence the reason I went to a salon. He should've had all the products needed in his salon. He took 5 hours to do a service that should've taken an hour and a half max. He did not wear gloves, use a brush to apply color, or wrap individual pieces with foil. He grabbed, pulled, and scrunched my hair to apply the color. I had dye on my neck, forehead, and ears. He gave a walk-in haircut and made me sit and wait. I had an appointment. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in my 51 years. The color lasted two weeks. I asked for a permanent hair color trend. A simple task that any licensed professional beautician should be able to perform. I called Maritza and she apologized at first m, then when I asked for a refund, it ended in her threatening me with religious prosecution! This was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional as a business owner. Pedro Trujillo Sanchez also was yelling at me in front of clients when I went back in for the receipt I wasn't given the day of service. Also unacceptable and unprofessional. This Salon is called "A New Look Salon." BUT they do not have their business name on the business. It's MB Salon. Maritza has changed the name of her business a few times...they do not offer receipts. Dealing with a lot of cash, hmmm I wonder if it's being reported properly? DO NOT GO TO THIS BEAUTY SALON. Una tarea sencilla que cualquier esteticista profesional con licencia debería poder realizar. Llamé a Maritza y ella se disculpó al principio, luego, cuando pedí un reembolso, ¡terminó en que me amenazó con enjuiciamiento religioso! On July14th, my husband and grandson, said what happened to my hair, that Pedro cut, here in Salinas? My husband took a picture, of the nape of my neck, and sides. My hair all over, was cut uneven. I was so upset at home. Next day we left for our cruise. So exactly one week later, onboard the ship, on our anniversary July 21st, my ship beautician, wanted to know, if the person, who cut my hair, had any experience? It took her an hour, to correct my hair, for our anniversary renewal pictures. She trimmed the best she could, to make it even. She could also tell, my hair in back, was thinned by a razor. The owner who has done my hair, VERY GOOD, however her brother Pedro, was not good. He was nervous, which in turn, made me nervous. Just kept saying, "I know what I'm doing", relax, don't worry". My shipboard stylist, just told me, to let my hair grow, and also, tell a stylist to follow the lines of the cut. I watched as she sectioned areas, and told me what's she doing. I trusted her completely. Like mentioned above I would like a refund for my haircut, style and blow dry. I will pay for the color. Please get back to me BEFORE MONDAY. I just wanted a straight trim without layers, nothing fancy. Carlos starts talking about how great my hair looks and how well maintained it is and sat me in his chair, didn't part my hair, didn't wet my hair, barely brushed it and in a matter of 10 minutes or less my haircut was "finished". He left the back of my hair straight but did not bother to see how it looked from the frontal area. My hair is now in a minimum of four layers cut unevenly in a somewhat inward v shape. After crying I decided to go back and ask for a refund. A wonderful man helped me and called Carlos. Upon telling him he had an unhappy customer, without hesitation Carlos said " Which one? The one with the long hair? " This wonderful man examined my hair and in fact told me it was an uneven badly done haircut! I am very grateful for Maritza reaching out to me for a free haircut, but this was unforgivable. This man took advantage of me being young and inexperienced. I put my trust in Carlos and in a matter of minutes he demolished three years of hard work and maintenance. Please be careful ladies and gentlemen and always follow your instincts! Secondly, when I finally got a hold of them, I asked if they had availability for a haircut, and she told me yes. I scheduled an appointment and I went, there was one guy there with someone already getting their hair done, and he told me I would have to wait about an hour to get my hair cut even though I MADE AN APPOINTMENT, I will not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

Maritza added highlights to my hair and I love them! They were ashy/natural looking. I can't wait to go back and get more highlights to achieve the complete natural look. Also, Maritza is so friendly and sweet! She takes her time and does everything carefully and doesn't let your hair just fry. Horrible experience! Went in to get my hair dyed a lighter brown with blonde and it ended up looking orange. This was the male stylist, I don't recommend at all. I asked, after I saw my results, to add more blonde and he said he was tired because he had a long day. He changed it a bit but made it look even more orange/gold. Rather than drive all the way to another city where we normally go, we decided to give this place a chance considering we heard a few good words...Boy were we WRONG. The woman who cut my husband's hair probably should go back to beauty school. His hair was a complete wreck. Asked the girl for a comb over and this girl did NOT know what she was doing, messed up my sons hair (he is 3) was very upset that i started crying. Uneven hair, no lineup, choppy.
