Very upset that I drove across town & I called before I did to make sure that what I was looking for was in store however the associate failed to mention that their time on yelp is misleading! They do not stay open until 2 am. The rude lady allowed two men to enter but as soon as she saw me she told me they were closed and she wouldn't open the door as I watched her open the door for these two Caucasian men. How fkn rude. I'm a black woman. I don't wear a bag. I look like everyone else in their 20s in Montrose. Every time I come to this shop, the older gentleman watches me so intensely (shifting around every inch of the very long counter) that I am immensely physically uncomfortable. I would rather there be a cameras that get surveilled elsewhere than to feel like I'm being hunted. It's scary. * I'll mention that I let it slide without question on my first visit because I was wearing a purse. During this visit, the younger gentleman with long hair harassed me about a toy I was shopping for. I declined his help and he just kept going on and on about the toy and how great it feels. So embarrassing. It got so bad the older gentleman shot him multiple dirty looks. AWKWARD. What provoked me to write this review was that I set out to do last minute gift shopping and stopped in. This was the first time I came into the shop while another person was in there and I noticed that he wasn't following them AT ALL. We were of similar age. We spoke the same two languages. There was one other thing though. I asked the older gentleman if he wanted me to keep my item near him, in hopes that he would leave me alone so I could look without being watched. Didn't work. I was so horribly uncomfortable with being complicit in my profiling that I just left. read more

My go-to smoke shop for over 20 years now. Been coming here since I was in high school whenever I was in the area... back at the old location down the street. Now in my 30s, I've since moved to Montrose and have been living here the past decade or so. It's definitely the first place I'll hit up when looking for something specific. I'm not sure where all these passive-aggressive racist insinuations are coming from, Dalton and the crew have always been helpful and extremely friendly... and this is coming from a man of color who almost always comes in with my very black homeboy. We literally just got back home from there 20 mins ago, we went in for once specific item and ended up walking out with 4, as the selection is so diverse and interesting, but at the same time not overly expensive. I dunno, I suppose everyone has different perspectives and points of view regarding that sort of thing, but in my experience, I've never encountered anything even close to what some of these other reviewers have said. It low key just sounds like they are trying to get free products or a gift card or something in exchange for changing their 1 star review to a 5 star... which is just lame. read more

I LOVE this place! That is all. But no, really, I have been to my fair share of "fantasy" shops and this by far beats them all. The next best would be Bizarre Bizarre, but this one is right around the corner from me, which makes it extremely convenient. I agree with the other reviews about how down to earth the guy who works there is. Then again, he's probably seen it all and nothing surprises him anymore. Whatever your little heart desires, they will have it. From overly priced what-the-heck-are-those dildos to cheap incense and even shisha for the hookah, they will have it. I also just love the environment about the place. You don't get that feeling like someone is watching over you every second. Went to a hookah lounge and while sitting there I thought about how much money I'd be saving if I just had my own. Looked a place that was in the area and found this amazing shop right around the corner. The costumer service was amazing and the guy who took care of us had all the patience in the world and help with all the questions we had as first time hookah owners. This store is pretty cool. Yes, it is an adult store, but really has more than what alot of people would think! They have cool stuff here! I seen Buddha heads, nostalgic toys, incense, Ed Hardy candles, etc. Stopped in to just check it out since it is in the neighborhood. Walked in around 10pm and thought it was pretty darn cool. They have the adult stuff and glass pipes that are quite beautifully crafted and decorated. The guy working here is laid back. Lets you browse to your heart's content, even if you do not buy anything. I think this is a cool place to browse and for interesting gifts. For a place with dildos on the wall, the guy working there was really down to Earth and helpful. It's the only place in my neighborhood which has Satya Sai Baba incense (shame on you, Magick Cauldron!), and they have it for cheap. They even accept credit/debit cards without a minimum. Also they're open late (midnight during the week, 2am on weekends) which makes sense for a shop like this. Oh yeah, and you can buy condoms here without having someone get them out of a glass case and escort you to the front. I'm making this my regular head shop. read more

I grew up going to head shops. This one is a bit better than most because they have a fantastic array of supplies and fun things to look at. The cigarettes are fairly cheap and the staff is friendly. You could spend an hour looking at the blown glass pipes in here, great pieces of art. they have invested in getting some truly gifted people to display their work there. The sex toy department is ho hum, but large enough to cover any emergencies. The place is really full of unususal gifty type items and its a blast just meandering.... read more

I've passed this store a million times and never felt the compulsion to enter it, as my days of smoke shops ended over a decade ago in Austin with the mother of all smoke shops, Planet K. Luckily, we are in Houston where there are no zoning laws and the adult toy shops don't attract weekly vice raids demanding to hand over the dildos and inflatable sheep along with the "water pipes". My friend was looking for a pipe and they had an incredible array of art glass pipes, including local handmade ones in the $100-$250 range which were shaped into Yoda, pit bull dogs, a blue squirrel, a hot dog and a hamster complete with tiny pink nub tail and feets. Awwww, light up and pass the glass hamster on the left hand side, bra! While he was looking for whatever it was in particular (I don't smoke), I was looking at the deluxe adult toy case full of Lelo brand items, which are the gold standard in silicone toys. While none of the stores carrying Lelo price them as low as online retailers such as babeland.com, Fantasy has them at a good deal cheaper than Erotic Cabaret but the other items one finds at EC are certainly lacking, along with EC's great customer service. I can't really expect the half-stoned dude at Fantasy to give me an honest opinion on which Lelo product will best (blank) my (blank) when he's not a cute alterna lady like myself or the EC staff. Warning: if you cannot produce an ID in Fantasy, they will tell you to leave the store. My friend didn't have his and asked to buy some sort of herbal product, which sparked an interest from the clerk in suddenly proving his age or whether he was vice or something, which was odd considering that he & I have been in several 18+ places without such questioning. Friend slunk out of the store and the clerk asked if I still wanted the pipe, which was a bit ridiculous as I was NOT the one looking at the pipes in the first place, so that sort of meant that the clerk really didn't care about under aged persons using the product, just didn't want someone without ID in the store. Had he let my friend finish shopping, it would've been to his benefit as we simply went to another smoke shop to finish buying the accessories to the tune of another $100 or so. I do understand the importance of underage people not being in the shop but if a cop walked in, seems like the clerk could simply say that he hadn't had a chance to check IDs yet and my friend has enough facial piercings & tattoos to be mistaken for Pinhead so it could easily be overlooked as to age. I'm obviously a grizzled old hag thus no one asks for my ID anymore. Fantasy is wall to wall crammed full of smoke stuff, a "meh" collection of adult novelties outside of the Lelo items, lots of stoner toys like action figures of famous people (Poe, Shakespeare, some pope, etc), hula dolls and topless gals to stick on your dashboard, retro repros of signs, cards, etc, sort of like a Spencer's without all the Linkin Park stuff. Or maybe it was there, buried under the coconut bongs and Grateful Dead roach clips, I dunno. In conclusion, have ID when you go to pick out your "water pipe" that looks like Spongebob or a sea cucumber or an alien smoking a bowl. If you want a Lelo product *now* but don't want to wait to have it shipped, this is also a good choice though I caution you that many of the items are sold straight out of the display case, meaning you need to wash it thoroughly before use more so than if it were in a sealed package. Unless that's part of the thrill for you, honey. Lots of cig brands, again not a smoker of anything other than Djarum cloves on occasion so can't quote whether the prices are lower than Hollywood or any other surrounding shop. Not the friendliest service but at least he got his pipe. read more

I bought a vape 3 days later it turns into a bomb and heats up to the point the plastic pod starts burning a hole on the bed... 3 days, when I went back they said buy a new one. Came here with a friend as it was in his neighborhood, we got paid and he wanted to buy something he's been eyeing. The exterior is deceptively sleazy and creepy-looking: the interior is actually quite clean and has fun gag "slip a quarter-for-your-fortune" games and such, as well as a comprehensive selection of smoking/sex paraphernalia. No shame in those games here. My friend who rolls his own tobacco says they sell American Spirit a bit cheaper than at Hollywood, so yay! They also have those snarky 1950s magnets. All in all not a bad place to go for "stuff" in Westheimer and in the loop. read more

This place sells fake Aspire and Spinner products. Avoid for your ecig needs. I usually shop at another vendor for my ecig wares but enjoy the location close to home and later hours. I purchased a Vision spinner 2 battery there about two and a half weeks ago for 30 dollars and some oils. One of the oils was rather nice (maple cream) and the other tasted metallic (cowboy tobacco) and had to throw it out. Fast forward to now. Needed an Aspire BDC coil replacement. After getting home it fried my battery and tasted awful. The clerk seemed cool enough stating my older BDC tank was bad and offered to replace it or meet me half way with a discount on a newer Spinner 2. I chose the new "Aspire tank". Doing further research found out they sell fake Spinner and Aspire products. The Spinner battery was stainless steel with white lettering - according to the manufactures website those are frauds. Upon further research on the Aspire tank they gave me, that was a fake too. Aspire products (coils, etc) have serial numbers and the company logo printed on even the atomizers. This brand new one didn't even come with a serialized box and had a fake coil in it. All reputable dealers of Aspire products have the box upon sale with a scratch off serial number you can check on the website. It is one thing to get a clone for a lesser price, but to pay full price for cheap knock offs is highly unethical. Wasted 100 dollars on, cheap knock offs here. read more

I have been in this shop on 2 occasions. The first time I went in, I was impressed. Definitely hadnt seen a cool head shop in a minute. So slipknot was on and I knew the words (freak on a leash) and the owner proceeded to stare at me with a puzzled look his face as if a dog suddenly started talking to him in plain English. I didnt think much of it however when it was my turn to check out the owner was extremely unfriendly and was upset that I didnt not want a receipt for a pack of blunts (no paper trail right?) After that, I vowed to not go back in. Several weeks later I returned because a friend who was picking me up from work was in there so I figured I'd meet him. I got I'd even thought I was wearing my works uniform and I had seen the gentleman who I.D. ed me last time. I pulled out my ID, the owner snatched it, and when I inquired if he had seen my friend, He gave me this snarky answer. Basically, If you're skin color is light, you're alright....if you're a person of color, then go to another place that will be more welcoming of your skin color (as if it should even matter). This place would be cool if customer treatment wasn't based on race. read more
