But there I was, camping nearby with my girlfriend, her twin girls and son at Cataloochie and down comes the rain. With nothing much to do locally in or about Waynesville, we came to Maggie Valley for something "different". This was it! Not only was it fun, but challenging! Give it a try. The front nine is relatively flat and is in the "valley" but then the back line goes up and down the mountain a bit. The holes are a little wonky sometimes but are usually very fair. The greens on the back nine can get a little crazy , it helps to play with someone that has played the course before. When I played the course, it was in pretty good condition. Comparatively speaking it's in much better condition than the other public tracks in the area that I have played. There were a few brown spots on the fairway, but nothing major. The greens rolled very true. My only real complaint was that the expectation of how fast you should play is pretty unrealistic... I think they have teetimes every 10 minutes and there's a lot of older golfers. There's also a lot of groups that have both males and females in them... None of this is a bad thing, but it slows the round down because people are teeing off and different places. There's also a couple holes that are cartpath only that really Can slow down your round. The price felt a little high, but it was in much better condition than courses that were only a little bit cheaper and so I'll take the higher price and the better conditions any day There wasn't a lot of water on the course... And buy that what I mean is jugs of water to drink... So it's not a bad idea to grab a water bottle in the clubhouse for you come out. The only other thing of node is that the driving range is nowhere near the clubhouse. I got lost taking my golf cart there! Twice! And longer hitters won't be able to use driver on the range. Beautiful course. Wonderful round. Worth the drive. Beautiful views!

We stayed at the Maggie Valley Resort & Clubhouse for two nights on recommendation from our family…read more We arrived after spending a week in a cabin sharing with 4 other people, so we were really pleased with this place. We didn't use the amenities, but at check-in, it was made clear that we could use the pool, schedule golfing, and that the restaurant at the club was fantastic. Our favorite parts were the views, how homey the condo was, and the proximity to places we wanted to go. It isn't far from Biltmore Estate, Waynesville, downtown Asheville, or the Blue Ridge Parkway. There are local restaurants around, some shops, and grocery stores nearby. The complex was also very quiet. I would highly recommend staying here for any trip.

From the…read moremoment we launched, he kept us entertained with his hilarious (and wonderfully corny) jokes while also sharing so many interesting facts and local history about the Nantahala River and surrounding area. His knowledge of the river was impressive, and you could tell he genuinely loves what he does. Trevor proudly introduced himself as the "Okie of the Smokies" since he's from Oklahoma, and his personality made the trip even more fun. He struck the perfect balance of making us laugh, keeping us safe, and making sure everyone in our raft had a great time. If you're lucky enough to get Trevor as your guide, you're in for the best trip on the river. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would request him again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Trevor, for making our family's day so memorable! Five stars all the way!

His customer service was amazing. He made the entire experience fun from start to finish. We laughed the whole way down the river, learned so many interesting facts about the area, and always felt safe. If you're visiting with young kids, this is an amazing family adventure, and Carter made it even more memorable. After rafting, we went zip-lining, and the experience was just as enjoyable. Cole and his crew were fantastic--patient, professional, encouraging, and accommodating. They made everyone feel comfortable, whether it was their first time or not. We 100% recommend Nantahala Outdoor Center for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fun day outdoors. The staff truly made the experience exceptional. Our only suggestion would be to make tipping easier. Currently, guides can only be tipped with cash, and many people don't carry cash anymore. It would be great if the guides had a Cash App, Venmo, or QR code so guests could tip digitally using their phones. They absolutely deserve it! Overall, an unforgettable experience that we'll be recommending to everyone. Thank you, Carter, Cole, and the entire team for making our day so special!

The class II and III rapids were the perfect size for us. It was slightly challenging in a few places but nothing terribly difficult. It was absolutely exhilarating! Our guide Eric was incredible! He was super knowledgeable and really seemed to know the river very well. We all felt really lucky to have him as a guide. After watching a few other color rafts/companies get stuck continuously, we knew we chose the right people for this adventure. 10/10 will definitely be back again. Things we were glad to have... glasses chords.

We had so much fun ebiking in Banff last summer that i thought it would be fun to do in Asheville…read moretoo. I booked the easy ebike ride which was a 12 mile bike ride into Tennessee. We had a 2pm start (1:30pm arrival) and were the only people registered so private ebike tour for us. TJ was our guide and he was training someone so we ended up with 2 guides, which was great. Both of them were very knowledgable about Asheville, nature (i learned what poison ivy looks like) and biking. It took me a few minutes to get my ebike bearings, but then were off. The first part of the ride was on gravel, which was a little tricky, but it was all good when we hit the road. It also started raining and we got pretty wet...i couldn't decide if the rain made the ride miserable or more fun. Maybe both! The biking itself wasn't too hard and honestly we probably could have done it on regular bikes and gotten a workout, but i do find ebiking super fun. We stopped a few times, which helped with our sore butts and learned about the area. A few hours later we said goodbye to our new friends and headed back to Asheville (about an hour away). They also offer many other activities like white water rafting so recommended if you're looking for a little adventure.
