Hillbilly Golf was easily one of the most fun things we did in Gatlinburg! This definitely isn't your typical miniature golf course--the mountainside setting and ride up to the courses make the experience memorable before you even hit your first ball. There are two different courses, and we started by playing the first one during the day. We had such a great time that instead of considering Hillbilly Golf checked off our Gatlinburg list, we decided we needed to come back and play the second course at night! I'm so glad we did. Playing during the day gave us a chance to really take in all the quirky Appalachian details and mountain setting, while returning after dark gave the experience a completely different atmosphere. It almost felt like getting two attractions in one. The courses are fun without taking themselves too seriously, and there are plenty of wonderfully unusual details along the way. It's the kind of attraction that reminds me why I enjoy traveling--sometimes the places that make you laugh and say, "We have to do that again!" become some of the best memories of the trip. If you're visiting Gatlinburg, put Hillbilly Golf on your list. And if you have the time, play both courses--one during the day and one at night! read more

What a cool putt-putt course!! Most mini-golf courses are basic hole after basic hole. But at Hillbilly Golf, you first have to ride an... inclined rail trolley thing to the top of a very eclectic, well designed mini-golf course built into the side of a mountain. But we never felt cooped up, unsafe or too on-the-edge. These guys had fun, positive attitudes and worked hard to make sure we had a good time. So fun! We love mini golf and this spot offers not only a fun course, but you take a ride up the mountain first. What a fun addition to an already good time. They're located right on the main parkway just a bit north of the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg. They have a parking lot which is handy. We parked, paid, took our ride up the mountain and then golfed 18 holes of mini golf. The course was well maintained with quirky decor and just plain fun. We loved golfing here. It was 2 adults with 4 boys under 10. They all had a blast. The cost wasn't extravagant and we enjoyed the ride to the top where you start the first hole. The course was challenging enough for the adults and older kids and easy enough for the younger ones. I don't really enjoy mini golfing, but I'd definitely go back to Hillbilly. This place is so much fun!!! Highly recommend it. They have two parking lots, one is free and I'm not sure about the other one. Price to play golf is reasonable. The employees are super friendly. After you pay you pick your club and ball out. When we went there was a line to go to the top of the mountain. The employees do a great job spacing the crowd out so you'renot crowdedat the top. After you get on the tram they give you a brief intro and you ride the tram to the top of the mountain. It is located on a side of a mountain with a hillbilly theme. Several pieces of farm equipment is used for the various holes. So much fun! It is shaded which is really nice. They have two sides to choose from: A and B. One side is a steeper than the other side. When you are done you ride the tram back down the hill. We did get several hole in ones!! This is definitely a must do in Pigeon Forge! read more

A must do in Gatlinburg, TN! It's located right before the main strip on the Parkway, but it's easily walkable and safe. They also offer a trolley but we went later at night and didn't see any trolleys. There are two parking lots for the experience, I think one is free and the other is paid. Beware, leave your ticket in your car. We almost got a ticket when we were leaving the attraction since I took my ticket with me! There is a small window where you pay - $12.50 for adults and $10.50 for kids 12 and under. The bonus is if you come back to play again within 3 days you pay only $6.50! After you pay, you pick a club and ball and then wait for the tram up the mountain. It only takes a few minutes and is a super fun experience, especially for the kiddos. The front row is the best seat! They provide brief instructions and then you are sent up the mountain - it's a pretty steep incline up about 300 feet. Then you embark on side A or B. A is a shorter course and B is a longer one, we got a few holes in one on both sides but the kids liked side A better. At night the golf is brightly lit throughout the course. You basically play "hillbilly" themed holes down the mountain - lots of obstacles. Some look easy but they are harder than they look. Experience 10/10! Employees are friendly and the attraction was one of the best mini golf experiences we have had. A must do in Gatlinburg! read more

Best minigolf experience I've had. The course is interesting, challenging and unique all at the same time. It's a lot of fun for the whole family and the queue is not too bad at all. We went around dinner hour so there was less people and so had a leisurely 18 holes. The short ride up is also fun for the kids! Wow, what a unique and fun experience! To start the course, you ride a little incline up a track higher up the mountain, and then pick if you want to do the A side or B side. Each hole was a unique challenge, and I'd recommend keeping your eyes peeled for helpful tricks hidden in the decor! It can be frustrating if you are behind a slow group though. For the last 9 holes, we were stuck behind a very slow group just fooling around and taking forever - there were like 7 or 8 groups stuck behind this one group of slow pokes. As a result, the incline back down the hill was super backed up and took a while to get everyone down the hill after that slow group finally finished and the rest of us could finish too. Overall though, this was a fun time and I'd do it again, but wish there was some staff to help move slow groups along. read more

We spent 4 hours here on the 4th of July enjoying both 18 hole sides. Great fun for the whole family. While there's lots of people playing, we never had to wait long to play each hole. We arrived about 10 AM. It took about 30 minutes in the queue to pay and ride the tram to the top. One hour, roughly, to play. Since it's only $6.50, plus tax, to play again (within 3 days), we decided to do the other 18. Unfortunately, the queue was now about an hour. Still, we were glad to have done it. BTW, parking in the municipal lot is not free. Small lot, with restrooms, that costs $1/hour. Credit/debit only. Law enforcement routinely checks and tickets those that didn't pay. read more

You can choose between two golf courses, after you take a pulley cart up to the top of the mountain. From there, you wind yourself down the mountain through 18 holes of wacky fun. This was a cool experience, but I wish they were more transparent about the amount of stairs here. I get that its a mountainside, but we had someone with a bum knee in our party that really struggled with getting around the holes. We knew there was stairs, but there is ALOT of stairs here. Excellent mini golf course with a really unique incline rail car that takes you to the top. I thought each hole was very well designed and fun for any age. They also had some cool displays about old farm equipment, trees, and wildlife. Funny signs throughout as well. It's no wonder they've been in business 40+ years and stood the test of time. We'd read that this was the best mini golf in Gatlinburg and while this was the only one we played, we had a blast and it was great! From what we saw of other mini golf in town, this definitely looked like the best and most interesting. The price was reasonable and there was free parking right next to the entrance. You take a little tram thing up the hill and pick from 2 different 18-hole courses. The holes were interesting and challenging and well decorated with fun random stuff and some interesting facts and info. There are a handful of stesp between each hole, but the inclines aren't too steep or anything. The end of the course is about halfway down the hill so you take the tram back down to where you started. read more

Hillbilly Golf course is located in Gatlinburg on the Parkway and while it has a pay parking lot next door is walkable from most of the downtown hotels. Cost is $14 for adults to play one of their two courses. The receipt let's you return within 3 days to play the other course for 1/2 price. This mini golf course is unique in that it is built into a hillside above the ticket booth and both courses are accessed by a funicular that takes the patron up the hillside to each of the courses No. 1 tee box. The people who staff the course were very friendly and helpful. Being on the hillside the staff warn you about the squirrels and chipmunks that live near the course and occasionally steal your ball. Also, bears sometime frequent the course after closing at night. This is common all over Gatlinburg as it borders the National Park. The courses have trees all around them and that means leaves are common on the putting surface. The uniqueness of playing mini golf on a hillside is overshadowed by the goofiness of some of the holes that could also be in better shape. I thought playing the course I chose was ok but not enough to come back to take advantage of their 1/2 price offer. I give 3 stars because playing here is about average from what I expect from most mini golf courses. read more

We had an absolute blast at Hillbilly Golf! We played one of the courses during the day and had so much fun that we couldn't resist coming back later that night to play the second one. The ride up the mountain on the incline tram is such a cool way to start the experience, and the mountain-themed obstacles are quirky and fun. Really fun activity in Gatlinburg. My husband and I are always up here so we run out of things to do. We decided to try HillBilly Golf and it did not disappoint. There's two different courses that you can play. It can get a little backed up during the weekends with a lot of people coming to play, but during the week, you don't end up bumping into people and waiting. You might also see a bear! (We saw one) The lady up front was really nice as well. She saw I had a Dolly shirt on and she told us about her son interviewing Dolly Parton and showed us a picture. It was real cute. I have never played mini golf on a course like this, and I mean that in the best way possible! After purchasing tickets, you grab your ball and club and take a lift up the side of the mountain. From there you choose a course to the right or left and each hole moves you slowly downhill until you finish the course, and then take the lift back down to ground level. A lot of the holes were pretty standard, but the decorations were cute and it was just so gosh darn pretty being among the trees! We loved the "plinko" hole and cracked up at the last hole that takes your ball into an outhouse. Good family fun! Depending on time of year you may have to wait a while to get in, but it seems like people cycled through pretty consistently (it helps to have two courses!). And, as a bonus, you can get your scorecard stamped to get a discounted round if you come back in the next couple days. read more

Before visiting the area, I watched tons of videos of what to do and see in the area, and this was on the list. It's been in Gatlinburg forever and in the past there was a concern of it having burned down due to the fires in 2016. Thankfully that was not the case. We chose to check this out and ride a mountain tram up to mini golf. After all, I sure can't do that at home. It was only $13.50 for an adult round of mini golf and 5.99 each for a second game within three days. We went up the tram which takes about 12 people up max and u glide up to the mountain. They say their last time a bear was spotted was a few weeks ago so it can be possible to see them since u r playing golf right in the mountain amongst the trees. The first hole was terrible. My ball went backwards and I lost my ball right away u see the tram tracks. I called to the phone line and they directed me to extra golf balls. We both needed them . After that it was smooth sailing. It was fun, but an extra humid experience. I really thought we would be getting cool air on the top. Nope, I was wrong. We finished our 18 holes, and waited for the tram to come and bring us down. I'd say total time it took us btw waiting in line to finishing the game was about 3 hours and that was in the evening around 8 pm when they say it's less busy on. There were families and big sized groups, so when they finished,'you would be able to go. Glad that we did it, but we definitely need more practice. read more
