This place is a diamond in the rough. When I moved from Uptown to Oak Cliff, I pegged Fantasy Nails as 1 of the 2 or 3 salons I wanted to check out. Some of the Yelp photos & comments were old (the photos with the purple walls). I wasn't completely sure if it would be the right fit, so I didn't check it out right away. Meanwhile, my girlfriend Julie kept posting photos & stories about her nail tech Mary. She mentioned it was worth the drive from Irving to Camp Wisdom Rd. I made the connection, confirmed it was the same place and off I went in search of Mary at Fantasy Nails. If you want a boushie, quiet, spa-like atmosphere....keep moving. If you want on-point, unique, P I M P nails that last...this is your spot. And they still do acrylics! Yaaasssss As a matter of fact, I haven't seen a dip being done at all. The wait was BONKERS! My nails didn't last 4 days 40 dollars down the drain that could have filled my gas tank. i wasn't rude or loud until she refused to fix my nails. She wanted to charge me more money for something that obviously was her fault! There was no policy stating anything it was all word of mouth....I can't stand it when people try to get over on you. I personally don't like this place. The first time I went the technicians were very rude, the second time I went I was robbed of my cell phone RIGHT infront of the place. Visited Dallas this past weekend and it is my hometown. I honestly forgot how affordable it is to get quality service. It was a fun experience all in all. The customers who were there, were great and seemed to really know the staff. They convinced me and my friend to stay the wait. I got solar nails in an almond shape and I absolutely love it!!! Yes, you are going to wait but the quality is amazing! I decided to get my eyebrows done and was quite hesitant because no one even where I reside (Austin) has been able to give me results that make me say YAASSS! Justin proceeded to tell me to sit down and I looked at him sideways, like what are you doing. I've never had a guy give me an eyebrow wax. Another customer assured me that he was great at what he does so I became at ease! During the process, I could feel the shape of how he put the wax on my eyebrow and it gave me joy because it felt like it was going to look good! Let me just say, YAASSS! He did an excellent job! Honestly the worst nail shop I have ever visited. I don't mind dropping $$$ on my nails but they had such terrible service. The way the man was handling me nails was EXTREMELY rough. I was bleeding and everything. My nails weren't even all the same length. My pinky nail was short af compared to the rest of my nails. He was being very disrespectful with the way he spoke to us. I am seriously jaded with the nail salon 'industry'! I came to Fantasy Nails today after receiving a good review of the services provided. Unfortunately, I will not return. My pedicure was rushed and a bit painful, the nail tech providing the service never spoke to me while completing the procedure and upon completion, my cuticles had as much polish on.them as my nail beds. During the entire process, I had to listen to a language foreign to me not knowing if I am the topic or conversation or the weather and that bothers me. There are dozens of pictures of designs on the wall, that are quite beautiful, but I'll never get the chance to experience their beauty, because once I sat down after telling the tech which design I liked, he went on to tell me how much it was in a tone as if to discourage me from choosing that particular design. He went so far as to let me know the desired design would not remain on my toes for long. It's really sad that customer service is so lacking in some neighborhoods and that some businesses feel like the sub-par attention and care shown to customers in some areas is ok. I sure hate todays experience went the way it did, I was looking forward to FINALLY finding a nail shop that didn't prejudge me to be some hoodrat with an attitude and as a result treat me as such. This shop is DIRTY. Nail dust clippings all over and don't expect them to clean it up. They use the same file on me as the person before me. Every inch of the place is covered in nail dust. Prices go up magically and nail techs are lazy will charge you ridiculous amounts if they don't feel like doing something, so you'll say no. And you would think their work would at least look good. I have dip powder all around my skin and thick underneath my nail. Shitty job to say the least. Mary should be ashamed. GET IT TOGETHER!!!! read more

Let me just cut to the chase...they should just name this place NIGHTMARE Nails. The wait was horrific, 2 unnecessary hours and very poor communication and POOR customer service. Long wait not because they are popular but because they are short staffed and very unprofessional and took their time gossiping out loud about other customers and about their personal inappropriate business In front of not only customers but also in front of under age children!!! The business is ran poorly and RUN DOWN!!!! place is unsanitary - very dirty and the only reason I waited that long is because I was in shock - like is this really happening?! None of them are worth 2 hour wait. The hype behind Mary Berry or whatever her name is... should be Mary Berry Unprofessional loud mouth and over priced and dirty. They seriously are not the only talent in Dallas. I will NEVER ever spend another minute or dime in that junky unprofessional unsanitary establishment. They never once checked on their customers or apologized about the wait, at that, even inform of the approximate wait. I called prior to arriving and they told me what time to come, so there wouldn't be a wait... I did as they instructed over the phone but once I arrived, I sat there and waited and waited and WAITED while listening to the "owner" Mary Berry bash other customers that weren't there and poke fun of the people that were arriving at 3:30 or after because they close at 3:30 yet their door was still unlocked & open and their open sign was on..!
