So I went though a battery of tests which showed absolutely no issues. I then asked why he would say I had a heart attack. The answer was "well, your heart could have repaired itself or it was so minor to not cause damage." When I asked him why the EKG would have shown a heart attack, he really had no answer. 4 doctors since then and none have stated I had a heart attack. His BS disagnosis has caused me to lose a primary care doctor when I objected to the heart attack garbage in my records. Stay away from this guy. I don't think he's a quality doctor.

Dr. Parilak truly takes time with each patient, and that is something you do not see very often anymore. When it is finally your turn, you do not feel rushed at all. He takes the time to explain what is going on, answers questions in plain language, and makes sure you actually understand your condition and the plan. He focuses on educating you, not just telling you what to do or handing you a prescription and moving on. I really appreciate that, because it makes you feel involved in your own care instead of just being processed through an appointment. He is confident in his answers, thoughtful in how he explains things, and very thorough. That confidence and clarity make it much easier to trust the decisions being made. I would much rather wait a little longer to see a doctor like this than see someone who rushes in, rushes out, and leaves you unsure about what is really going on. Overall, Dr. Parilak is exactly the kind of cardiologist you want if you value thoughtful care, clear explanations, and a doctor who actually takes the time to get it right.

However, since seeing him in his office and the last two visits with PA Steiner, my opinion has completely changed on these guys. First off I'll say, I will never go back here and I don't recommend them. As pulmonary doctors, having asthma, a PFT test should be done, but that's not the biggest issue. I have a history of pneumonia in my right lung along with other issues. The last time I saw PA Steiner, I was extremely sick with pneumonia and other issues. He did absolutely nothing for me. Didn't offer any medications, no advice, nothing. I fortunately decided to go to pulmonary at the VA. She immediately ran a boat load of blood tests, ordered a CT Scan and a PFT initially which after that one a more advanced one. So this is why I'm not recommending these guys.... The blood work came back showing issues, the CT of my lungs came back showing issues, I'm waiting for the second PFT. These guys are Intensive and Pulmonary and did absolutely nothing for me or made any attempt to diagnose me. Beware if you have serious pulmonary issues. I should not have to request or demand for them to do their job. I'll stick with the VA as these guys did not want to do anything to help me or earn my business or recommendation.

We saw very good reviews on Google Maps and were optimistic about seeing Dr. LaBuz, but he might…read morehave too many patients in his DPC practice or he might have something distracting his attention, because it was truly difficult to get him to give more than a few minutes of attention to us, even during scheduled appointments. I think he was significantly late to every appointment we ever had with him (like more than 20 minutes late to a 15-min appointment) and in many cases we had to contact the front desk to get him to respond, and they said he had forgotten or not marked the appointment on his calendar. He said that DPC is supposed to be good for complex medical situations, but in practice, he would only listen to us briefly before concluding what test we should get and then talking about that test a lot. He was not good at listening to us and it felt so difficult to get even a few sentences out around him. One time I even booked two appointments (one for me one for my husband) to TRY to have enough time for him to listen to something complicated that I felt was threatening my heart health, and still got shut down and not listened to and just told to rebook in a few weeks for more so-called "care." He was also not the best about refills, referrals, etc. often had to follow up a lot. I felt the doctor was failing to get an understanding of our health histories and was instead just listening barely long enough to suggest a test and then that's all he wanted to talk about. for example: my husband: I've been having fatigue dr.: (no questions about when it started or what it was like) you should get a sleep study! my husband: well, i'm not sure (not thinking sleep apnea was likely explanation, given the other details about the fatigue history) dr.: you can do a sleep study at home these days! Additionally, the nurse/phlebotomist seemed very inexperienced and severely injured me while doing the blood draw. She also mishandled the blood sample, so one of the tests we paid for was voided and had no result, because it had been exposed to too much light. I had constant low-grade pain in my arm for months after her blood draw, because she must have damaged my muscle or nerve with the needle and wouldn't take it out when I said it was more painful than any blood draw I'd ever had (she just said "you're overthinking it, just breathe."). I wish I had ripped the needle out, because I've had dozens of blood draws and I know what they normally feel like, even when they're a little painful, and this was not normal. I was hoping for better but this DPC did not turn out to be what we needed. We found someone better through recommendations on r/vegaslocals.

I have had many doctors throughout my life, some good, and some really bad (the first doctor I had…read morewhen I moved here was awful, and it takes me a lot to get to the point of saying that...). That being said, Dr. Hussain is the second doctor I chose, but by far the one I have been most comfortable with throughout my adult life. The first doctor I had ever chosen for myself as an adult, I chose because I had family members who went to him. He was a nice doctor, but things still felt a bit rushed. Through my insurance, there's a program called Dr. Tomorrow, in which you can get an almost immediate appointment for a medical issue if you're okay with not necessarily waiting for your own doctor. A few years ago, I was not feeling good for some reason or another (I honestly can't remember; it must have been a flu or something) but I was given an appointment at Health First Medical Center and I appreciated his compassion and straight-forwardness so much that I decided to get my records moved over to his office and I have been going ever since. Dr. Hussain, unlike a lot of doctors I have had in my life, will actually talk WITH you and not AT you regarding your symptoms. My worst doctor would say things with no bedside manner, look at me for 5 seconds, and send me out to get like 10 tests and never explain anything. Dr. Hussain will explain what is going on and make sure you comprehend (I have a leg up on some stuff since my mother is a nurse, but it is good to know that he will make sure that people understand what different aspects of blood labs mean, etc.), and he gives you a choice in how you are treated, at least in my experience. He has given me autonomy over whether I want a certain treatment or not, but of course, he will always give recommendations. The only downside at some points is the wait time for appointments (once in the office), but I have not deducted any stars, as there is a sign in the office that brings up a very good point. A lot of the patients here are elderly (I am not, but I do have chronic health issues, which is why I felt Dr. Hussain was a good match for me), and the sign points out that a lot of people who go there are either older or have chronic issues, and asks people to maintain proper courtesy regarding that, as that is probably what they would wish from other people if they were to someday be in that situation. I think it is a good reminder to have a little compassion and consider what other people are going through. All that being said, if you are on the market for a doctor, Dr. Hussain is one of the most competent, compassionate, and comprehensive doctors you can find. At least that's my two cents. :)
