My experience today. Waited 2 hours past my appointment time for a 2 minutes consultation, one minute answering the doctor's question (of how I was) that I was furious about the long wait without any acknowledgement or apology from him or anyone else (after an uncomfortable silent moment he said, "I am doing the best I can") and the other 1 minute telling me that I passed the test! For this, my insurance will pay whatever they get charged from their agreement (likely several hundred dollars) plus my $50+ copayment. The doctor may or may not be a good doctor, but the overall experience was an F- from the time of booking the test/appointment to the time of checking-out where it was clear to me that this was a common occurrence. read more

Dr. Narala is very good, but he needs to get either more staff or better staff to answer the phone. When you wait on the phone to cancel appointment and then you hang up and then you call back a little later and they ask you to hold again. They're billing office is terrible. They don't verify co-pays. I was a tier one with UHS there was no co-pay they asked for $55 co-pay and Jeri stated me that's billing office said I owed on $250 cash payment so they never verified the contracted amount nor that I was a tier one that had no co-pay. You could have the best in the world, but if your staff is uneducated and will not admit that they are not what the estimated co-pay would be they hit you a amount JerI was very unprofessional on how she handled it while she yelled at me while I was being very calm she stated she did not the other patients in the waiting room. You can have the best doctor and have a staff that somewhat incompetent and the doctor suffers and vice versa if I were you, I would stay away from desert cardiologist and vascular center. Dr Chandra Narala and his son Dr K are just amazing. My mom has Afib and some coronary issues. She is 88 years old. She had a valve replacement 2 years ago. I have been taking mom to Dr Narala since 2012. Dr K Narla and his team worked on both my legs. I could barely walk before. He went in and cleaned out my veins and put in stents. And my stomach was also blocked he fixed that one also. I can walk again! I don't need a cane or anything to walk. I can not thank Dr K Narla and his team enough. I highly recommend him. I also go to his Dad for my cardiologist. I was scheduled for a stress test here. I was only advised not to drink caffeine 24 hours before my test and to not eat that morning. When I arrived, I was told that I would be injected with radioactive material through an IV that supposedly would take pictures inside me. I refused to be injected by the foreign substance. This asshole that works there, Tony, printed a copy of a document to show me my signature, was argumentative, told me that it was already explained to me and asked me if I knew how to read. I advised Tony that nobody told me and I had no understanding that radioactive materials would be injected into my body and how could he know it was explained to me when he wasn't there? I cannot stand when these hacks try to turn fiction into fact when they have no personal knowledge. Tony threatened me with fines/fees to the tune of $300 if I did not permit him to proceed. I declined. I was then ridiculed by the front desk who told me that I "was an adult" in reference to not understanding the signed document. In my personal opinion, this place is a hack shop more concerned about profit rather than the health of patients. read more

I and my husband are patients of Naralas. They are extremely busy and I agree that it's hard to see them. But they are very PROFESSIONAL and very CARING! I and my husband have great respect for them. My wife and I have been using Desert Cardiology and Vascular for 13 years. Our doctors, both Dr. C Narala and his son Dr. K Narala are excellent cardiologist and surgeons. Dr. C saved my wife's life in 2015 and Dr K saved me in 2023. They both take their time with you as well as both communicate with my GP and my pulmonary doctors to assist in our health issues. One of those clinics that is fine wasting your time, and therefore overbooks to the point of chaos. The waiting room is completely full and people waiting 1.5 hrs after their appointment time. How do they expect people to coordinate their days or take off work for a quick appointment? We were seeing Dr. Narala at Desert Cardiology, even though they were out of our coverage, because he's a good cardiologist, however his front office is inefficient, unprofessional, inconsiderate & oblivious to how to appropriately function. Dr. Narala has been informed of such & has a new office manager, Greta. Little change has been noticed except for asking Greta to follow through on duties that the front office should be able to do. Our PCP called (via physician/hospital line) directly to request my husband's cardiology records & was hung up on several times. It is extremely frustrating to call even for an appointment, you're placed on hold for more than 30-40 minutes minimum when you're not hung up on. My husband often has to drive to the office (a little over 20 min.) in order to communicate with anyone. It has been a 2 year nightmare. After our PCP's experience, he referred us to a cardiology group that is now within our medical coverage. If you can find a good cardiologist within your network choose them & skip this office! P.S. We originally saw Dr.Narala & his son while we were in the hospital & liked them which is why we stuck with them, but now we can't take the stress of the front office. read more

Ive been going to his office for more than 6 years and have never, not even once, had a bad experience there. His PA's are very knowledgeable and take their time with me to be sure I understand. In July 9th 2019 my 88 year old father had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. Dr. Narala put five stents in his heart and helped getting him through heart failure after his surgeries. I believe my father now 92 would not be here without Dr Narala. We have been seeing Dr. Narala since his heart attack and he's always so helpful and attentive to my fathers care and needs. What a complete joke of a "doctors office". Just spent almost 2 hours waiting for a simple monitor to take home in which they couldn't even figure out how to program it and kept blaming the computer crashing. There is 0 communication while you sit here waiting for hours in a crowded room full of people waiting to be seen or updated and the staff (aside from the front desk check in clerk) are all rude and dry. Never would I ever recommend anyone to this place and the sad part is that people come here to check on a potentially serious medical issue yet the staff could give 2 craps about anyone's well being. Patient for approximately 2 years... Very Good, Comforting, and seemingly Professional Doctor who does his job with some pride. The office staff is inept, rude, and possibly mentally defective. Enough was enough!! They schedule procedures well in advance and cancel within MINUTES of your arrival time BUT "never know exactly why(?)" and find a number of excuses that are never their fault. The "office manager" (whichever person is elected at that moment to lie to you) is always from the same select few whom are never the ACTUAL manager (like Rich... lie, lie, be rude, say something stupid, hang up)... Okie Dokie. Too bad, too. If WE cancel the appointment with INSUFFICIENT notice, WE have to pay a fee. When YOU cancel a medical PROCEDURE, not test or visit, but a PROCEDURE that required a day off of work and coordinating drop off/pick up and YOU cancel with less than an HOUR before start time, with no reason other than "I don't think we sent out for an approval" or "I guess the tech couldn't stay late" @ 1pm in the afternoon for a 2pm appointment.... and YOU give ME attitude and ineptitude... that only reflects on you. read more

I've been bringing my dad to see Dr. Narala for about 5 years now. We when first started coming to see him there were no issues with the wait time. In the past year it has been ridiculous. I don't know if it's because he has picked up a lot more new patients or something else. I believe it starts with the schedulers. The waiting room now is standing room only. I firmly believe they over book every single time. On 3 separate occasions I had to wind up researching because I believe an hour was long enough to wait. I'm here today and so far our wait is at 30 minutes. I will give it another 30 minutes and then we are out. My dad is 93 years old and this long wait time is not conducive to his health. I'm also considering to look for a different cardiologist. No one should have to wait hours to be seen by any doctor unless he was called out for an emergency. Just had my first appt with Dr. Narala and his PA, Jasmine Kim and I couldn't be more impressed! I am originally from Seattle where I worked in clinics and Seattle Children's Hospital. My experience gave me insights to how clinics should work. I know how careful you have to be in choosing doctors down here and the clinic I just left was horrible. It was so easy to call and make an appt at Desert Cardiology-no waiting in a queue at #25 and being booked weeks out. Everyone in the clinic was friendly, personable and actually knew what they were doing. Jasmine spent over 20 minutes getting my cardiac and medical history and Dr. Narala spent the same amount of time explaining what comes next. He ordered two more noninvasive tests after noticing my varicose veins and discussed any questions I had. He and Jasmine are friendly, knowledgeable and made me feel like I had finally found the cardiologist I needed and felt comfortable with! I was referred to Dr. Narala so I could get potential sleep disorders diagnosed. Dr. Narala himself is very nice and helpful in answering any questions that you'd have, but his office staff on the other hand can sometimes be a pain to deal with, especially on the phone because they don't always remember to follow-up with you on things like test results and insurance billing questions. These things may not seem important enough to them to prioritize but to a patient it can be very stressful not knowing. Usually if I don't hear back for a few days, I'll give the office a call and follow-up myself. I've been told by his office staff before that they either were too busy to call me or that they had called and left a voicemail when I don't even have a missed call or voicemail. I've also been early or on time to appointments here and then still had to wait almost an hour...What?! Overall I've gotten what I needed out Desert Cardiology, just sometimes the process drags on longer than it has to! read more

I'm giving this business a two because I actually love the cardiologist Dr. Narala. It's his staff/technical testing support that is an absolute shit show! Otherwise I would give them a zero if possible! My elderly father, 82 years old, was sent to Dr Narala for possible congestive heart failure. Dr. Narala recommended testing, Specifically a cardiac ultrasound and a chemical stress test. Our first cardiac ultrasound was scheduled for July 21 at 1:30 PM. On July 20 my mom got a call that they needed to rescheduled us to 10 AM because the technician needed to go home early. I called them and said hey that's not OK I work for a living and I had to make special arrangements to get this time off to take him to this test and you can't just reschedule my father without letting me know since I am their primary caregiver. They told me there's nothing they could do about it because the technician wanted to go home early. I was super pissed but agreed to reschedule the appointment to the 28th. The 28th appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM. At 10 AM that morning the technician called wanting to see if my dad could come in at noon. I was like are you kidding me! You guys did this to me last week because you wanted to go home early. I told her I don't care what you have planned or what you want to do, I made an appointment for 2:30 and again took time off work to accommodate this appointment . I said I will be there at 2:30 and you will be seeing my father. I think I scared her, so she did accommodate the scheduled time. I guess in her world if you just want to take an early out for the day its OK to inconvenience everybody you have scheduled for the day. WTF people work!!! So today August 12 we had the chemical stress test scheduled for 9 AM. We arrived at 8:45 AM. One of the office staff said oh hey, we made multiple attempts to contact you yesterday because we're not gonna be able to do his test today. I was like nobody called me so that's a lie. The guy then said well we'll just move you to Monday and I said no I work for a living and I don't have availability on Mondays I need a Friday, my day off. This is a 3 to 4 hour test. And he goes can't your parents just Uber? I was like my parents are 80 and 82, they don't drive, and my mother can barely use a phone to make a phone call so no you're not gonna force my elderly parents to be made to Uber to accommodate your schedule when we had an appointment that was on the books for over a month. So my dad did not get his chemical stress test, still needs a chemical stress test to determine if he's in congestive heart failure, and I'm left waiting for this shit show of an office staff to call me back to make arrangements. I'm sure it's gonna be another runaround. Apparently they only do this test once a month so we're likely going to be forced to wait until September. I'm curious if they will no-show no call that scheduled appointment since that seems to be the MO. If we weren't so far down the rabbit hole I would say screw it and get a different doctor. My advice to you is if you are referred to this shit show of a practice steer clear!!!! read more
