At this point, I cannot comment on the doctor's treatment itself because no diagnosis has been made yet and treatment has not started. At my initial appointment, I only saw the doctor for about 2-3 minutes. I explained my symptoms, and he said he could not prescribe anything, including medication for anxiety, until the cause was determined. He ordered an MRI, blood work, and EMG testing, which I appreciate. However, a few days after the visit, my symptoms worsened. I decided I did not want to wait for insurance authorization and was willing to pay out of pocket for the MRI. I called the office multiple times and could not get through, so I eventually had to drive there in person. I requested that they send the referral to the imaging center, but I was told that a message would be sent to the doctor and that, because they have many patients, it would be handled whenever the doctor deemed appropriate. As a patient whose symptoms were getting worse, I felt there was very little urgency or concern. The lack of communication and the difficulty reaching the office have been the most disappointing part of my experience so far. I hope to provide an update later, once I have my results and see how the doctor manages my care moving forward.

Now and again we need a heart check up so that blockages don't happen. On a recent heart scan my primary doctor found an artifact. I have used other locations with this practice, but this time around I'm a new patient. It's not just the heart valve that needs a check it's the blood flow between the veins as it returns back to the heart. It's truly intriguing how life tends to go in an individuals favor. Let me explain. As a patient this time around, my complaint is with veins and perhaps a blockage somewhere. The doctor that I was referred to is a vein specialist. Go figure on those odds. They are going to run lots of tests to determine what the issue is. My chief complaint is pain in the lower limbs which co insides with blood flow through the body and it not producing enough oxygen to get it where it needs to be. Failure is not an option. The specialists here specifically focus on the heart and vein system return. You are in great hands putting your trust in their hands. I was told after all this that everything is fine, yet I'm not sure I believe it as they seem to only be interested in the bottom line. I was referred to Nevada Heart & Vascular by my regular doctor. I received a quote for services that were under $350, which I agreed to because I had the funds in my FSA to cover the costs. Apparently their quote didn't include much of anything as the final bill was over $1,900. Despite the shocking bill, which I received in December of 2024 for services rendered in November, I promptly paid it. I was shocked when I received an additional bill in April 2025, saying I owed more money and I had 7 days to pay or they would send me to collections. I followed up with their billing department and my insurance and my understanding is that they resubmitted for more money 4 months after my visit AND after everything had already been paid in full. Apparently, this practice didn't make enough in 2024 and decided to go back and re-bill patients 4 months later in an attempt to get more money. How this is NOT fraud, I don't understand. I would stay away from Nevada Heart & Vascular. Repeated attempts to get anyone to return a phone call from his office have not been successful.

He was friendly and even joked a bit which I appreciated because it helped with my anxiety. However he met with my hubby after the surgery and explained how everything went which was well. I didn't get to the unit until 2 am just because it took awhile for me to wake up. I was discharged later that day after lunch. I scheduled a follow up for two weeks post op and that went well. He has a great bedside manner. His office was clean and the staff were all friendly. In fact, I made an appt for him to check out some vein issues I have. I'm glad he was the one on call that night! Highly recommend him!

And to have such as ugly troll looking girl work front desk in a dermatology/ cosmetic clinic is crazy and looks just horrible. Also, they allowed my husband to go to 6 visits and not updat his insurance, 4 months later $6,500 worth of Labcorp Invoices because invoices were not hitting right insurance. I asked if he sent correct or gave new card and he said they scanned the new insurance card, but not sure if they placed in the system. Also, Dr. F. prescribed an estrogen blocker with his T. without testing his bloodwork and or hormone levels. My husband had a severe reaction because he didn't need it. After an ER visit of $1,800 and couldn't walk for 2 weeks he recovered fully 2 months later. All he could say was that he was sorry and he didn't think that would happen. Months later he now has Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it created trigger finger in his middle right hand, surgery is expected Jan 2025. This visit was to get a prescription for blood work prior to my visit with Dr Barrettoko. He seemed thorough and caring. After receiving my results from the blood work, I saw Dr Barrettoko a few days later. My bloodwork results were horrible. However, there was a baseline for my bloodwork as I just had it done about 3 months prior and it was not that bad. Right away, I was put on 3 prescriptions, one of which was very hard on my stomach. A few days later, I left a message for the office regarding my stomach issues. I was also scheduled to travel back east to visit with family. While back east, I had my old doctor get me a prescription for blood work to see if it was really that bad. The results came back and in fact, it was not that bad. A couple of days later, I finally heard back from Dr Barrettoko's office about the harshness of the medicine. I informed that person that I repeated the blood work and it was not that bad. I even dropped off a copy to their office. I expected to hear back from them as to what to do with the prescribed medicine. After a week, and not hearing back, I walked into the office to see why I have not heard back from them and what to do. After 90 minutes in the waiting room, I went to the receptionist and asked what I was waiting for. A few minutes later, I was given another blood work prescription from Pat. No other explanation. The next morning, I had the blood work done and received the results a few days later. My results were excellent! After another week of not hearing back from the office, I called and left another message. After another week, I left a nasty message that I am moving on to another doctor and to cancel and remaining appointments for myself and my wife. The following Monday, I finally received a return call from Pat. I laid into him about how unprofessional their office was to not address a medication issue that was brought to their attention over a month ago. I have since made an appointment with another provider who promptly returned my phone call and was able to squeeze me into their busy schedule due to my ongoing prescription issues. To sum my issues up, they took 4 days to call back just to get an appointment and over a month to address a medication issue. If this type of doctor is what you are looking for, by all means, try to make an appointment, otherwise, read the rest of the reviews here and decide if this lack of communication is ok with you.
