We adopted Ollie (formerly Oreo) from Farfels right around the start of Covid and we couldn't be happier! They are truly a great adoption facility and gave us the best service. The staff were great and very informative with the thousand of questions we had. They really made the adoption process as smooth as could be. When we decide to adopt another dog we will definitely be choosing Farfels again.

Beautiful Bella Grace and her new little brother, Brody Gabe

These two little kids are "perfect"! They are so loved and adored...... Bella will be 8 on Aug. 29, and because of the unexpected and devastating death of her brother, Bentley, we chose to rescue instead of going back to our Scotty breeder. I contacted Farfel's Farm and Rescue, and asked Sandy about a shaggy little guy that we fell in love with. Sandy was amazing to talk to and I shared my broken heart with her. Through Sandy, Brody became our new little boy! We needed him as much as he needed us! We don't know Brody's actual birth date, so he will share and celebrate Bella's day, Aug. 29. We are guessing this will be his 2nd birthday! Here's to celebrating many birthdays together! There are no words to thank Sandy and Farfel's for this precious gift!

Highly recommended! Farfel's Farm does amazing rescue work! We adopted our pup Hayduke from them in June and had a great experience with Hope and the rescue team. Their storefront on Pearl St. in Boulder is really fun, too.

    Crete, my handsome boy.

*FAREL'S IS OPEN AND OPERATING* Sandy, Jeff, Aurora, and Hope helped me make the best decision ever. Spoke personally with all four through the adoption process and was impressed with the amount of vetting they do to ensure the adopters are the right fit. If I find myself wanting another animal in the future, Farfel's will be my first choice in search.

We adopted our dog, Yoda, from Farfel's Farm and Rescue. Jeff and Sandy are amazing! They are so kind and love animals so much. To those people who have tried to adopt a pet from Farfel's with no luck or even a response, you need to understand that only 3 people are working the rescue end of things and they have to wade through a good 30 to 40 applications per dog. Our Yoda was so popular, Sandy told me he had over 100 applications! He went with a different family at first, and I in fact never heard from Farfel's regarding my application. When I saw that his "Adoption Pending" was removed and he was available again I jumped on the phone that minute. Sandy interviewed me right then, asked for pictures of our home and references and we were able to get Yoda the next day. He has been by my side ever since. He is my best friend! Farfel's requires that you do a mandatory 2 week foster with your dog first to make sure the dog is a good fit for your family. I think this is fantastic. If it isn't a good match there is no judgement and they refund the adoption fee immediately. In regards to the adoption fee. Yes, $425 is definitely more than say the humane society, but they are just covering the costs involved with rescue. Traveling to the high kill shelters in the southern states, temperament testing, spay/neuter, vet checks, food and transportation up here to CO. It makes sense when you think of all they're doing to rescue these little guys. I highly recommend Farfel's. The little store is great too, though we don't shop there often due to living up in Fort Collins. If you're trying to adopt a dog with them, be kind and be persistent. Good luck!

(We adopted a dog from Farfel's.) - Jeff and Sandy are such nice people and were a wonderful help when adopting our rescue dog from them. Farfel's team talked us thru our particular situation and how This particular dog might fit our lifestyle. Very helpful. Of course Farfel's gave us the dog's records, AND lots of FREE great quality food, a FREE harness, a FREE great book with tips for new adopters and their dog's AND a listing of local trainers (suggested we register for an obedience class which we did.) Im confident if we would have needed more help, they would have jumped right in with is! Additionally, they fully explained their adoption process, kindly connected us with the folks who knew about the dog and held our hand through the entire meet and greet thru to our final adoption. Farfel's 'requires' adopters to commit to keeping the rescue for a week to be sure it is going to be a fit for us AND THE DOG which I thot was very cool. FYI - We also could have chosen NOT to adopt without being out an adoption fee. Good policy and helps when you're unsure of "who" your rescue dog really is. Gives us all a minute to see if we are right for each other. We LOVE our dog and are SO GRATEFUL to Sandy and Jeff for rescuing him from a Texas shelter! THANK YOU!!

1 Star - Extremely Frustrating and Unethical Subscription Practices…read more I canceled my subscription with Only Natural Pet months ago, yet they continue to send me food and charge my account almost $82 each time. When I called customer service, I was told that I had "only canceled a delivery, not the subscription." Their website is extremely confusing and not user-friendly, and it honestly feels intentionally designed that way to trap customers into staying subscribed. The reason I canceled in the first place was because my dogs had to be switched to a different food. The only reason I even looked for an alternative was because Only Natural Pet's deliveries consistently took forever to arrive, leaving me waiting far too long for food I needed on time. When I called about the most recent charge and asked for a refund, I was told I would have to refuse delivery or ship the product back before they would refund me. While I understand policies, this completely ignores real life. Between work and daily responsibilities, the last thing I want, or have time, to do is drive to a post office, wait in line, and send something back just to get my own money refunded. That means nearly $82 out of my account for weeks, and in today's economy, that's money I absolutely need. On top of all of this, customer service was rude and dismissive, and I believe one representative actually hung up on me. I've worked in customer service my entire life, and courtesy refunds are commonly given, especially when the company is clearly at fault. This experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and financially damaging. I would strongly caution anyone considering a subscription with this company.

I placed an online order because they had freshwater eels for sale I have had aquariums for 60…read moreyears The eel was $19 To make the $60 dollars of packing and shipping worthwhile I placed a $300 order including some live bearers As is standard I ordered 3 to ensure 1 male and 2 females On the check out page there was a place for shipping notes routing insurance was added to the invoice with no option to remove it and no link to be able to read the insurance info so my assumption was this was added so that the shipper could replace dead fish They called me before shipping because one of the fish I ordered had Ich So we spent an hour on the phone deciding on a substitution The packaging seemed good when I first opened it as I unpacked the fish I noticed the eel had been packed in a bag that was the same length as the eel and it was dead Eels are fickle Any stress and they die to pack an eel for shipment with no wiggle room was bad and he died Other bags had leaked and barely had enough water to cover the fish I had to open the leaking bags and combine fish from two bags into one so there would be more water for acclimation Then I noticed that they had sent all females for all the live bearing fish Something that a professional should know not to do And it was apparent that the pictures online had been color enhanced because the actual fish received did not have the intense coloring displayed in their pics Had they been honest about what the fish actually look like my order would have been completely different if I had known they were going to unload all females I would not have ordered them because they look like ditch minnows I spoke to a manager and told him about all things listed but mainly because the one fish that prompted a $300 order was dead due to either sick stock or improper packaging and the shop bears the responsibility The manager said I should have specified the sexes of the fish but there was no place on the fish page to choose the sexes even though there was a drop down menu to select size and to choose quantity the only place I saw where notes could be typed was in shipping instructions Besides these are supposed to be professionals When I pressed the manager on this he admitted that when people buy in the store they are asked what sex they want the fish to be I was on the phone for an hour with the guy to make a substitution for a sick fish and that was plenty of time to ask that simple question They also informed me that I would have to pay shipping and packaging again for them to replace the eel with no guarantee it will arrive alive. when I asked about the insurance they had forced me to buy they told me that I would have to contact the insurance carrier and file a claim and even then they probably wouldn't cover the shipping I told them that they should be the one to do all that is necessary to replace the dead eel that died in transit because that is what customer service is Shipping is the responsibility of the shipper I honestly thought the forced insurance on the checkout was so the shipper could cover these kinds of issues Especially since there was no link to review the terms and conditions of the policy And there was no place to unselect the insurance The manager could not explain to me why there was a forced insurance purchase if it didn't cover dead fish their online ordering is a scam They deceive with color enhanced pics, unload excess female fish by not having a place to select the sex, they force you to buy insurance that has no benefit to you if the fish arrive dead, and they deflect blame When I sent an email detailing all this, the owner replied and said that their policy stands I have scoured the website and I cannot find any information that tells the online ordering customers that they will not honor replacing dead fish even if they perform poor packaging or send dead or dying stock They kept telling me they were a small store and couldn't afford to absorb replacement costs for dead fish. Then don't sell online!!!! Or actually purchase insurance to cover replacements including shipping Out of curiosity I went to the post office and the UPS store near my house and asked them the overnight shipping cost for the box they sent with water in all the bags and it was half what they charged for shipping costs Keep in mind they charged $15 for all the packaging material DON'T ORDER FROM THIS STORE Shop at your local store this company is a scam by using bait and switch tactics with pics, offloading undesirable female live bearers, poorly packaging the fish, forcing the purchase of useless insurance, and deflecting blame back onto the customer I asked how this would be if I paid the $60 shipping and packaging for the eel to be replaced and it also arrived dead they had no answer They may be nice in person but they have no problem cheating online customers

The space was shiny and new and there were a couple of dogs enjoying the wares with their owners. I was pleased to see items for both dogs and cats (though the store does have more dog items/food). Though the store did not include my cat's favorite local pet food (I & Love You) they did have dry, wet, and raw choices. The staff was really nice and we talked a bit about what it would mean to go with raw food and I was happy that they provided Dude (my female cat) a sample to try out. Since dental hygiene is a new concern I was pleased to see several items to choose from (peppermint spray, salmon or peppermint gel, powder, finger brushes and more traditional toothbrushes). Although a bit costly ($24.97) I opted to go for the PetzLife salmon flavored gel. It doesn't require brushing so that sounds great to me. With a money back guarantee I definitely see it as a win win for Dude & I as I do not want to go the traditional vet cleaning route with anesthesia (to note there are local practitioners that use acupuncture in place of anesthesia.) I was sure to sign up for the customer appreciation program (love those) and join their email newsletter list. I was also sent home with a couple of $2 off $10 purchase so my friends with pets can give this store a go. The staff is well versed in Western and holistic pet health. I highly recommend chatting them up if you are interested in changing your pet's food. Chances are they'll send you home with a few samples for him/her to try :)
