During one such visit when I missed qualifying for the CI by a hair, Dr. Schwartz met with me for an hour to talk about my health history and life in general. I knew he really wanted to help me, and I couldn't believe that he cared that much. When I finally qualified for the CI, he was informative and honest about the side-effects to look out for. The surgery was easy. He didn't need to shave my head, and he didn't leave a big scar. Dr. Schwartz used wax on the cut, so I was able to wash my hair the next morning. I've heard from others with CI's that they had to wait a week or longer to wash their hair. My activation was six days after the surgery, not the usual two weeks!! I'm so very grateful for all he did. I hear great now.

Amongst the names, my husband recognized Dr. Jennifer Heydt as the person he saw when he was having seemingly non-stop nosebleeds and miraculously fixed it in one appointment. Naturally, I picked her name amongst all others. Seeing her during the first visit, she expressed amazement at the magnitude of infections my CT scans show (well, it has been nearly a year of symptoms). I had done my research, and as expected, she recommended surgery. Despite my research and her immediate recommendation, I still have some hesitations. I went through the motions of pre-op consultation and scheduling. Days later, I called back and expressed my hesitations. To my surprise, it was Dr. Heydt herself who called me back. She was able to calm my nerves, and I agreed to the surgery. Perhaps my case was much more extreme. My recovery was far more difficult than she let on. I was told that I would have mild bleeding for 24 hours. I wasn't told that I would be a mouth-breather for a week, interrupted sleep that required me to be sitting instead of laying normally, and have bloody globs coming out of my nose. I saw her one week later during the first post-op, and she literally vacuumed an insane amount of goo out of my nasal passages. The process scraped all my nerves, but I felt a ton better afterwards. I could breathe! Well, like comedians have said - tragedy plus time equals comedy. Perhaps Dr. Heydt was expressing less recovery than reality because she knows I needed to hear that to proceed with the surgery. It isn't quite over yet, but I am getting there thanks to Dr. Heydt. The office gave me one option - two separate appointments for the two phases of a single appointment OR wait another month or so (with obviously no guarantee they won't change that)... Which is beyond a complication for me as I would have to change travel plans and 3 other appointments out of state to make the only option they offered work. They had no other alternatives, so I asked to be on a wait list for cancelled appointments with days that would work. BUT I called later to add some additional days & learned they had the *wrong* dates to call me originally. Sigh. VERY little confidence in their ability to do anything. IF you do manage to get in to an appointment... MAKE SURE you double check absolutely everything. The Dr. who referred me is VERY interested in how we are eventually treated, so I'm documenting everything.

I had to wait for a consult until Nov 10th, 2022, which was another 5-minute appt. to confirm "yes" biopsy as next step. I then had to wait until Dec 15th for the actual biopsy. Totally get that medical facilities are busy. However, I was told I would get results within 5-7 days, yet it is now Jan 10th, 2023, and I have yet to receive a call. I've called multiple times and have had to leave a message each time. Still no call back. Very frustrating especially given the anxiety about cancer or some other cause that should be treated. So, if you are concerned about a situation I don't recommend going to this clinic.

I recently had a scary "event" with my hearing. I got an appointment promptly (within a week of…read morecalling) with Dr. A. Lowery at Puget Sound ENT in Edmonds. Upon arrival, I was shown into a room to do a hearing test. The woman doing the test was very kind, patient with me and thorough. I then saw Dr. Lowrey. It didn't take her very long to figure out what my problem was, she listened very carefully to the symptoms I described and checked me thoroughly. She was a great listener. She was patient with me expressing my feelings (and fears) and diagnosed me, giving me the specific directions of what I could do to "fix" my problem. I was very satisfied with the entire office, their staff and my experience.
