Indentation post cryotherapy for a cosmetic sunspot removal.
    Natalie D.

**UPDATE** After writing my review about the scar that Dr. Spoonmore left on my face, Kean Lawlor (founder of Seattle Skin & Laser) reached out and commented, "I am sorry to hear about your experience with our office. Our goal is to provide the highest care and customer service to all of our patients...". He asked that I schedule an appointment to meet with him to research further what happened during my visit and that's what I did. When I went in to speak with him he basically said "people make mistakes" and that "this is real (my scar)" and there was no responsibility taken for what was done. I just kind of sat there crying. There was no discounted or complimentary treatment offered and no compensation given to me to help improve the appearance of the scar at another office. He simply said "come back in a few months". The clinical manager worked with their compliance team to try to cover the cost of some treatments elsewhere, but it was denied (please note I've already done 3 microneedling treatments @ $900 and also a BBL @ $500, and I don't know if I can afford much else). The letter from the Seattle Skin & Laser compliance team said that I was aware of the risks, but Dr. Spoonmore did not discuss risks. Again, she said that it would heal for about 7-10 days and the scab would simply fall off revealing new skin. Before the procedure, she just quickly handed me something to sign (I felt very rushed to sign and not read the form) and she was off to treat my face. She did not offer any other treatment to remove a simple sunspot. She could have simply said, "go get a BBL, we even offer them here!". Instead she damaged my skin with cryotherapy on two spots by going too deep into my skin (she also damaged the melanocytes in both spots which produce pigment so I'm left with not only indented scars, but white ones). What I experienced was definitely not the "highest care and customer service...". I'm traumatized, sad, ashamed and disappointed in the lack of genuine empathy and care from the team at Seattle Skin & Laser. This isn't right and no one should be treated this way or feel how I feel about myself after this treatment.

The other reviews are spot on, this office has bad customer service. Several calls and messages and no response, and I was a past client with a procedure that had very poor results. They won't even schedule me to fix it. They have changed their name from Mercer Island Dermatology to Seattle Skin and Laser to Frontier Dermatology, but the service is the same.

The piece of stitch left in my back that led to an infection.
    Rodrick H.

Bad but not awful experience. Three months ago I had a cyst removed from my back. Initial procedure was fine. A very young and noticeably less than well experienced person removed my stitches. Fast forward a month, my incision has partially opened back up and is bleeding and painful. I schedule an appointment with a doctor there. She takes a close look, thinks it infected and prescribed antibiotics. The lab results from that visit come back and I'm informed that it is infected. Three weeks after, infection appears to be gone. This morning I pulled a piece of the stitches out of my back!! The young person did not do a thorough job, which led to my infection, and then the DOCTOR DID NOT DO A THOUROUGH JOB! How could she have missed the stitches in my back?! Nice people but no thanks.

I had a biopsy and after finding out I have a large cancer on my lower back I cancelled the necessary surgery there to go to Virginia Mason on Monday, knowing time is important, still w no schedule and expecting a delay. That's how much I HATE THIS COMPANY. There's much I won't mention. Too much. If you have a real medical condition go to a REAL Doctor. This ain't the joint.

The Handshake Says It All: Unbiased Review of Racial Microaggressions in Healthcare…read more Let me be crystal clear about my experience with Preston Lehr, PA and this dermatology practice: it was unacceptable. As a Black woman, I was subjected to treatment that exemplifies the medical disparities POC face daily in healthcare settings. On my first visit to discuss the removal of skin tags and to have PA Lehr examine my ruptured cyst, his behavior immediately made me uncomfortable. He greeted me with an exaggerated, stereotypical handshake that felt forced and inappropriate--something I guarantee he doesn't do with his white patients in Edmonds. During this visit, he prescribed a powerful antibiotic for my ruptured cyst without mentioning it needed to be taken with food. This potentially dangerous oversight was only caught by my pharmacist, not the doctor who prescribed it. When I returned for my second visit to have the skin tags removed, PA Lehr greeted me with the same uncomfortable handshake. When I asked if the procedure would hurt, his dismissive response that "it's not going to hurt him" was both condescending and unprofessional. I had to specifically ask about aftercare instructions myself--information that should be provided automatically. For my third visit to address the now-calmed cyst, PA Lehr once again greeted me with the same inappropriate handshake. I couldn't help but think: would a 50-year-old white woman, man or non-binary person be treated this way? Absolutely not. During the procedure, he provided minimal explanation and zero aftercare guidance. Only the support staff stepped in to give me the proper information I needed. The support staff was competent, but they can't compensate for a doctor who treats patients differently based on how they look. This is medical racism, plain and simple--not jokes, not lightheartedness, but the exact kind of differential treatment that research consistently shows undermines care for communities of color. I'm giving two stars solely because: 1) The procedures were technically completed and 2) The support staff provided information the PA should have given. I will never return to this practice and strongly advise against it for anyone--ESPECIALLY people of color who deserve healthcare providers who see and respect them as human beings deserving equal care and dignity.

From the very first appointment, it was clear how much he genuinely cares about his patients--not just clinically, but personally too. I've struggled with rosacea for years, and he is the first practitioner who has addressed it so thoroughly, thoughtfully, and with such care. I'm so grateful. I've had three Excel V laser treatments with Dr. Greene, and each one has been such a positive experience. He goes above and beyond to ensure comfort--offering small but meaningful touches like stress balls to squeeze, talking through every step, and having his assistant use a cold roller throughout. These details made such a difference in helping me feel calm and cared for. I've never felt so at ease during a medical treatment. Dr. Greene also takes the time to really explain things--he has a screen mounted on the wall that shows helpful graphics about skin and treatments, and he walks you through it in a way that's clear, respectful, and empowering. He even followed up with a personal phone call when I had questions. His staff is just as wonderful--kind, responsive, and knowledgeable. I've never felt pressured to buy anything or pursue services I don't need. The whole environment is one of respect, support, and true partnership in care. If you're looking for someone who combines deep expertise with genuine empathy, I can't recommend Dr. Greene enough.

Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Dr Ramsey Markus was dismissive, brusque, condescending and rushed. I had provided a list of my concerns at the time I booked my appointment, and was prepared to ask all my skin questions and concerns during the visit. Dr Markus dismissed several things I asked him about during exam, including something another doc had told me about a dermatofibroma. His general tone was condescending as if I, without a MD after my name, wouldn't know anything about skin conditions. During my skin check, Dr Markus identified a potential skin cancer and reluctantly performed a biopsy at the time of my visit, per my request - stating his schedule was busy. I understood this, as I booked my appointment in January for first available at the end of April. "Pertinent negatives" section of my visit notes inaccurately stated I had no previous history of skin cancer. I had disclosed when booking my appointment that I had a history of squamous cell skin cancer in 2014. Dr Markus did not specifically offer treatment options for skin tags or milia, as stated in his visit notes. When I asked him about the milia around my eyes, he told me, "some people make milia." Across the board, the visit notes in my file did not reflect what he actually counseled me on, indicating he used canned notes but did not actually verbalize them to me. When I asked about options to treat readiness on the face, Dr Markus gave me a flyer with cosmetic laser treatment options, upon which he circled the options he recommended. He told me there was a shampoo I could use to treat Tinea at home, but didn't provide the name of the product - I had to ask the front desk to get it from the medical assistant as I was checking out. I picked up a brochure on Tinea and Mohs from the treatment room; Dr Markus did not offer them. Appears this dermatologist is quick to offer treatment options that bring in money (cosmetic), but not as quick to share home treatment options or minor procedures (skin tag removal, milia extraction). Biopsy results I viewed in the patient portal were dated 4/29 (4/24 visit). Dr called me on 5/5 (4 business days later) with a positive result of basal cell cancer. He referred me to a Mohs surgery center for treatment. Dr Markus coached me on screening calls when I picked up on his second call. I will not be returning for any elective cosmetic procedures or further skin checks.
