This is easily the best bakery in the area. They bake their goods fresh every single day with love and care. 5/5.

Farm 23 is located outside of town. It is open only till 2 PM on weekdays and closes earlier on weekends. I don't have the exact hours but you might want to check because I've been there when they're closed. I do know they open at seven and on the weekend, you wanna get there early because they do sell out of things. All their pastries are killer. Today bought a blueberry muffin, a maple cinnamon roll and the special of the day, which I don't know the name of, but it was a biscuit with clotted cream and homemade raspberry jam made out of the owners garden. It was scrumptious. It is also a little store and you can buy all kinds of cute things in there, there is an area to eat both inside and outside, but I am only talking of three or four tables in each location. They also make coffee drinks and they also have croissants with eggs and bacon. Have not had one of those in years so I can't really comment on that. What a fun stop. I looked up local coffee shops and this was close and had great reviews. I'm so glad we popped in. I got a latte and a gift for my granddaughter--so many items for babies and children's gifts. I asked how long they've been there and was told 6 years. I said wow, you made it through COVID, that says a lot. He replied that's when they opened, right before the world closed for business. He said the shop items got them through the worst of it. Every place has a story. It's nice when you meet someone willing to chat for a while. They have the best looking baked goods too!! The outdoor eating steals inviting--they've even prepared for your furry friends with water bowls and a doggie bed. read more

Before we left New York for Maine, we put a list together of all the places that we wanted to try whoopies pies from. My family has been making whoopie pies for decades and every time I go to Maine, we try to find pies that remind us of the ones that we make! Farm 23 wasn't on our original list, but we happened to pass by it when we were driving to our Airbnb and I am glad that we did. Their whoopie pie was collectively our favorite! The cream filling was not overly sweet and had a nice flavor. All of the baked goods that we purchased from Farm 23 were excellent. read more

Excellent bakery with some of the best bake goods I've ever had. Even the barista is friendly and nice and inside feels like a cozy home and it makes you want to sit down in the back and enjoy the atmosphere. My very favorite are the blueberry scones, not too sweet, but very crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside - just perfection. we have been going here since they first opened! . read more

This unassuming road side stop holds a treasure trove of baked goods and thoughtful gifts. The bakery truly deserves a fancy storefront somewhere in the west village of Manhattan. We couldn't believe our eyes when we stepped in and saw all the delicious options - everything we tried was delicious and perfect! The highlight for us was the blueberry crumble bar - but those cupcakes ... I wish we had room for more. This is the kind of place that should be viral on social media- their baker is outstanding and the gift shop was so cleverly curated -we even found a much needed soothing spray for our sunburns. Come early before they run out of things. We showed up at 10:30 am and basically all they had left was cupcakes. However, we made another visit there much earlier on another day, and they did have some wonderful pastries. They just don't bake enough to carry through to about 10 o'clock. read more

I stopped here for breakfast with a friend yesterday morning and I'm so glad I did! The staff was so friendly and the pastry chef even came out front to say hi to my dog. There is such a wide selection from the store in the back to the tasty treats in the front. I bought their homemade Maine Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake (a steal at $20), and have already eaten half of it! Super cute place! We bought one of each of their shortbread cookies (lavender, key lime, chai & mocha) - we liked the mocha best - it had the homemade taste we were looking for. The mocha latte was delicious. The gift shop is small, but with some lovely, unique items. Great if you are looking for a special "souvenir" or hostess gift. Best bakery sweets I have ever eaten. Blueberry rhubarb crumble was my #1 top pick followed by the Key Lime Bar. Cinnabon was really good too - got it fresh out of the oven. While the muffins may be pretty good the workers behind the counter are so rude that it made the experience awful. The female and male were obnoxious and condescending BOTH times we were there- the first time we just thought they were having a bad day, but after the second time, there is absolutely no excuse to treat customers like that. I just had the most delicious blueberry cinnamon bun (roll they call it). I just have to scream it from the rooftop and let the whole Yelp world know. Just drove by the place and figured I'd stop on the way back. No expectations. So glad I tried it! Clearly made with fresh local berries, like a cinnamon bun but with a blueberry filling instead of the typical cinnamon (although there is still plenty of cinnamon in it) and with maple icing in lieu of the standard white icing. We passed this place so many times on our visit to the area and didn't realize it was a bakery location until the next to last day. It was a very unassuming location. There was a great variety of baked goods. We did stop our last day figuring we could take homemade Maine baked goods for breakfast at our next stop in Boston. We were very disappointed in the products and we had chosen/purchased quite a variety since they looked so tasty;all we needed was morning coffee. There was a lack of sweetness or flavor to most of the items. The fresh blueberry and cranberry for which Maine is noted was not present and tasted mostly bitter. The only thing we enjoyed was a chocolate chip cookie and which hard to do wrong. We should have just kept driving. read more

I've been her numerous times since they opened, but finally feel the need to post a review after trying the garlic herb cheddar bread this weekend. What a lovely shop. We chose the snails; very big and flaky cinnamon rolls with maple! Yum! We then chose a pumpkin turnover, a carrot cupcake and a tahini peanut butter cookie. Pastries were beautiful and appealing unfortunately they mostly contained carrageenan which is an additive that makes three of my family members quite ill. We were hoping that a place that advertised as farm fresh would choose cream that didn't have this additive which is outlawed in food in Europe because of its toxic side effects. Cozy roadside bakery serving up incredible baked goods and coffee just a couple minutes off the main drag in Boothbay. Their espresso drinks, teas, and hot chocolate are all delicious. I have dreams about the caramelized onion and goat cheese croissant, and the morning glory muffins are to die for. And I can't wait to try one of their beautiful cupcakes next time I'm in town. They also have a small room of the store with household wares, seasonal items, and gifts. This spot is not to be missed!!! read more

I was very excited to go here for the first time in June. I think they set things up outside well, I had no problem parking...and inside is inviting with impressive bakery displays, and a variety of nice quality items for sale. I wanted to try everything, but started with a blueberry scone, a cinnamon roll, a mixed berry bar, and biscotti. First bite went to the scone...I hate to say I could detect the flavor of the baking powder. My guess is they use one that has aluminum in it...? Personally I think Rumford or Bob's Mill, ones that specify no aluminum, are worth using. Scones should a have a buttery flavor with a tender crumb and a crisp crust. This was big, which was impressive in itself looks-wise, but it was rather bland and fluffy. The biscotti was good, also big, and nice because it wasn't rock hard. The cinnamon roll was very good, as was the berry bar. I look forward to going back and trying other delicious things with a nice cappuccino. read more
