One of the best places I've been to! We stopped here on a road trip to Rockland for lunch. This place had a ton of options to choose from for lunch (i.e. sandwhiches, hot bar, etc). Not to mention, I was so tempted to order all the lovely baked goods and treats. They looked amazing. We pulled off in Brunswick for a quick break and ended up having one of the best coffee experiences of the entire trip. I walked in thinking I'd order something simple, but Jocelyn somehow anticipated exactly what I wanted before I even said it -- an oatmeal latte with honey infused right into the espresso. It was warm, silky, lightly sweet, and honestly one of the most thoughtful, dialed‑in drinks I've had anywhere. You can tell when someone really knows their craft, and she absolutely does. So this place is amazing! Really great food and staff. It definitely recommended it but here's the one thing that I find off. There is no table service it's grab and go but if you order online or check out at the register they want a tip. My understanding of tipping is for services. Why am I asked to tip at a checkout? Should I be tipping the checkout person at the grocery store? The staff is great but if I'm supposed to supplement their pay because you're not paying properly it's another issue and I won't shop there anymore if so. read more

Wild Oats is just 20,000 square feet of pure happiness. As you prepare to order your sandwich you walk by long glass cases full of colorful salads, flavorful noodle dishes, fresh fruit and vegetable combinations. On the other side of the room are long glass cases full of delicious cakes, pies, cups cakes, and pastries, where they also make special coffee drinks. There are so many choices of sandwiches, wraps, and paninis, but my favorites are paninis: the green monster (avocado, cheddar, spinach, green pepper, and pesto mayo), and the avocado toast (avocado, goat cheese, tomato, spinach, onions, and boursin). I always try to save room for dessert--last time I had a mint brownie with chocolate ganache--it was amazing. Their fresh baked cookies are also the best around! The service is always patient and prompt, and there are beautiful murals painted on the outside of the building as well as on the walls of the indoor, post and beam style seating area. I've been going to Wild Oats for more than twenty years and even though I miss the "old" Wild Oats, next to the Eveningstar Cinema at The Tontine Mall, this location still offers the vegetarian friendly foods and delicious bakery I've always looked forward to, but also what Wild Oats of the future really needed: plenty of parking, plenty of seating, and a large area to prepare all of their delicious confections. read more

This was the first time visiting this bakery/cafe for my wife and I and wow I did not expect it to be this large. In this area I have really only been to Flight Deck Brewing and since our last visit this area has had so much development now. They have plenty of parking available and the secondly seating inside and out has a lot of options. Like I mentioned we did not expect the massive size when we got inside. You are first greeted by the large amount of baked goods so you all of your senses can be overwhelmed. Your eyes are glued upon the treats, your nose is greeted by the wonderful smells, and mouth will start drooling but this is just the start! My wife instantly decided on the blueberry danish and I had my eyes on the maple danish. Then after you grab your baked goods and wander around the rest of their space you will find hot breakfast sandwiches, burritos, smoothies, and soooo much more. Also even though we were there for breakfast you could also see they have a huge section for soups and a large amount of deli lunch sandwiches you can order too. Besides our treats, my wife and I both grabbed a breakfast sandwich and then a tea and a smoothie. Once you make all your choices you then go to checkout and afterwards can take your stuff to go or enjoy them inside or out. It's almost cafeteria like in a way. This is a spot we will remember if we find ourselves around here or want to revisit to try more of their large offerings. This is the best version of a local place that found success. It's my favorite place in Brunswick, the baked goods are to die for, the sandwiches, soups, and salads are all incredible, and it's a wonderful coffee shop too! I love to try new things on the massive menu because each time, I am delighted and obsessed. (The chocolate orange cookie always hits the spot) And the staff is also so nice and great! HERE'S HOW YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT A PAID FOR REVIEW: The coffee kinda takes too long if you are in a rush or headed to work, etc. Ok now to the rave review. Seriously this place is a gem. I asked one of the staff a question about the history of the place and it turned out to be the owner (I'll leave her name out because i don't know if I should broadcast it). Honestly, what a sincere and lovely person. I told her this was our first time there and how great I thought it was and she just took us right into kitchen to see the operation. She showed us how everything was prepped, created and finished - right down to the cleaning station and the walk in freezers. I should make note that while my restaurant experience is a couple decades old, i have seldom seen a cleaner operation. Go look - you'll be amazed. You could literally eat off the floor back there. Consider that coupled with the fact that every person in that kitchen, EVERY ONE, came up and greeted her warmly with an inside joke, a hug or a sincere hello as we walked through. I hold a lot of faith in businesses that try and make family out of their crew - i have spent a lifetime of small (micro!) business ownership trying to encourage those vibes and they are not easy to come by and always earned, never forced. This business is owned by a decent human, staffed by decent humans, and makes great food prepared cleanly, freshly, and healthily. We went back 2 more times during our stay nearby and tried different things each time - each time did not disappoint. Pricing seemed fair, especially considering the variety of the menu and freshness of the food. There is a reason they have survived for the better part of 35 yrs (+/-). My sister was raving about this place so of course we had to come! She says that they often sell out of certain items so we made sure to come earlier than later. There are seats outside and inside to enjoy the many items you probably will buy since there was so much to check out including soups, sandwiches, desserts, frozen prepared meals, smoothies, and more. They do offer samples of the 12 types of soups that had out which I thought was amazing that they had so many and we actually got to base our choices off of more than just looks. In the end, we decided on the wild mushroom soup as well as Italian wedding which were great! I loved the amount of fresh herbs they cook with and how well everything worked together. We also grabbed a garden salad that was perfectly shredded for easy consumption. For smoothies I got to try their green version as well as the tropical in which I enjoyed the tropical more. We were excited to try their frozen eggplant, Shepard pies, and meatloaf but we didn't get end getting to it unfortunately. We came here for lunch on a Saturday, and I was pleased. It reminds me of a mini Whole Foods! There are about 6-7 different soups where you can serve yourself. There was a long line to order (about 10 people in front) but it actually moved fast. Keep in mind, this spot is pricey, but I expected it. They have a great selection of sandwiches and salads to choose from, as well as per pound sides (potato salad, pasta salad, etc). I chose the harvest turkey on a GF wrap. I wish they had GF bread as well as I would've preferred that. I was under the impression my wrap would be cold, but it came out warm. It was still good, but they could've put a bit more meat in it. The indoor seating area is big and spacious, as well as the outdoor part. They also have a ton of premade entrees and desserts in the cooler you can buy! Afterwards, we went back for coffee and dessert. They have yummy seasonal lattes and a HUGE variety of desserts, including many gluten free ones. I do find myself visiting a bit less now that they're in Cook's Corner, but it's nice having easy parking and in-and-out. They helped save my organization once when the caterer canceled and Whole Foods catering was randomly closed for a few weeks. Wow, what can I say? Wild Oats has so many yummy options! We timed our visit for mid afternoon when they mark down some of their baked goods. We got some Pecan Sandies and Everything cookies. They were very large and very flavorful. Wild Oats is very large with a bakery, prepared food and seating area. They have sandwiches, wraps and paninis, $10.95-$12.95. They have many varieties of soups and prepared meals. All the employees I observed were friendly and remained on task. I will come back to Wild Oats when I am in the area. But so worth it! They have the most amazing homemade pastries, their delicious homemade soups that will satisfy any hunger pangs, as well as great sandwiches and other items.
