They tried complaining but the complaints were completely ignored by the management. They actually left in the middle of the night due to the poor conditions and when they asked for a refund for the extra night, the hotel refused to refund them even after they complained about the rooms condition. The reason I am writing the review is because the hotel actually BLOCKED them from writing a review and when we called to complain the staff hung up on us! Save yourself a trip and go elsewhere. Things we especially liked about this place: -The warm heated indoor pool and sauna...perfect after a long day of skiing. -The common space in the lodge with a warm, always burning fireplace--nice for reading or unwinding at night. -The option to rent a room with 3 beds, perfect for our large family when we normally would have to get 2 rooms. -It's a stop on the Moover shuttle--an hourly shuttle which takes you directly to the base area at mount snow--so no need to drive yourself over. (it takes your skis and snowboards too) -Continental breakfast--again nothing fancy, but very convenient if you want to quickly fuel up for the day before hitting the slopes. (oatmeal, cold cereal, fruit, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, bagels, waffles, doughnuts, opastries, juice etc.) We did have some trouble with small leaks in the bathroom, but communication with the staff quickly saw them fixed. As other reviews have noted, this place is older and In need of some updates, but again, the friendly staff negates any problem you may run into. We've heard great things about the bi-weekly Indian dinner offered at this place and look forward to coming back again to enjoy it. Perhaps next year for fall foliage? Rooms are very old and need updating. The furniture was threadbare, and the bathroom door was chipped and peeling. When I asked for daily room cleaning, I was told "no" I was handed a stack of towels and linens--I guess to make my own bed! There is a Murphy bed, which leaves almost no room to get around the bed at night to use the facilities, as it almost butts up against the table. The bathroom tub is yellowing from age.There is only enough parking for 1/3 of the rooms next to the hotel, which means you need to park in a dirt lot and shuttle to the hotel--what a pain. I only stayed here because it was a wedding hotel, never again.I did not stay during ski season, so cannot speak of the skiing or the spa, but this is barely a one star hotel.

We stayed in the Evergreen room which had a fireplace in the room and jetted tub which was much needed after a day of skiing. My only complaint was the pillows were not so comfortable. They had complementary bottled water cookies and coffee in the room. Very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good and their dog Josie greeted us daily. We loved it and we'll be back soon!!

Comfortable king size bed, BAD: Very small room, sparsely appointed, dim lighting, meager water pressure in the shower after waiting a long time for the water to get lukewarm (it never got truly hot). UGLY: Very poorly thought out storage and places to put things- there was no closet at all, just a wood board on the wall with 5 metal hooks. I asked for hangers which they did provide. The bathroom consists of a modern type pedestal sink with a very narrow flat space to put a bottle or two and there was a bit of small space on the toilet tank cover. That was IT for places to put anything, This bathroom could have benefitted from 2 24inch wall shelves and at least 2 more hooks on the walls. Shelves are not expensive. Similarly, the credenza should have had at the very least a power strip plugged into the wall behind it to make it easier for guests to get at places to charge their electronics- this issue is congenital with most hotels, even like this one, newly constructed spaces for which there is no excuse. It would have been kind of the designer to provide some kind of shelf and hooks as well in the shower. I don't know that I would stay here again.

If you're looking for a full service resort/spa/conference center with three restaurants and ski on/off access, check out Grand Summit Resort - also owned and operated my Mount Snow. Snow Lake Lodge has an on-site bar and restaurant, and they serve complimentary continental breakfast to overnight guests. They're also equipped with a year-round indoor and outdoor hot tub, game room, and arcade video games for the kids too. And even though they're not slopeside, the free ski/board-friendly MOOver shuttle (see here: http://www.moover.com/routes-timetables/mount-snow ) makes pickups right outside Snow Lake Lodge every 15 minutes, providing rides directly to the Mount Snow base area and high-speed lifts. If I was writing this review five years ago, I'd have given this place four stars, but (a) the condition, cleanliness, and attention to detail of this older hotel continues to deteriorate, while (b) the prices for stays steadily and consistently increase year after year, unjustified. Charging nearly $200 a night when comparable neighboring inns/lodges are priced way less for the same dates has left me shopping elsewhere for Mount Snow area lodging (see The Lodge At Mount Snow, Red Oak Inn, and Austrian Haus Lodge). While Mount Snow's operation of the Snow Lake lodge guarantees friendly and top notch customer service, it's lost the "mom & pop" feel of the other aforementioned lodges. Top that off with asinine 3-night minimum stays during holiday weekends (forcing you to take off a work day to even stay there) and it's hard to wholeheartedly endorse this hotel any more. Mount Snow is an excellent place to ski close to New York, with varied and challenging terrain, and awesome staffers from the ambassadors to the lifties, but they've really gotta step up their game at Snow Lake Lodge, or just sell it off to someone who can.
