My fiancé and I had a lovely stay here. Vince was extremely helpful and Meagan was a treasure. The food was amazing as well! Make sure you check out the gift shop too. I wish we had a chance to stay longer! Can't wait for our next stay

Fish fried is amazing. LOTS of strip clams with it :-)

This place is just awesome. Third year in a row we came to kick off our summer time. The place is quute and relaxing, the staff is very kind and polite and Vince is great. On top of that the quality of the food at the restaurant is terrific. Definitively will be back next year (again)

Local VT spirits. Maple whiskey is outstanding.

I have been coming here for 7 years. Vince is amazing. The food is to die for. Pet friendly. Cozy. Walk to Magic Mountain. I can't imagine coming to Vermont and not staying here. It's a tradition the whole family (and dog) looks forward to.

Centrally located to our "day trips" this was the affordable dog friendly choice for us. Quiet location far from main road. Nice backyard for playing with dogs. Hotel is dated and our room had some issues. Nothing huge but should be addressed. Comfortable beds. 2nd bedroom with children's bunks. Large deck off front bedroom. Great water pressure in shower. HOT water. No a/c. Bring a heavy duty fan in summer. Inn keeper was always friendly and helpful. Occasionally noisy with neighbors slamming doors but it was more random than continuous. Overall we both enjoyed it very much. It was perfect for our needs. Look forward to our next stay. Recommended Fantastic complimentary coffee & muffins in morning.

That red building behind the trees? That's the ski area base lodge. Short of sleeping in the parking lot you can't get closer.

This is a beautiful lodge at an iconic mountain. I had a clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious and inexpensive. Vince makes great french toast. I ate dinner there as well; it was fantastic. A great staff - warm and friendly and genuinely welcoming. It was perfect; can't wait for my next visit.

This little guy enjoyed his stay.

We stayed at the Upper Pass Lodge for a weekend as the seasons were changing from fall to winter, and while the weather and scenery weren't ideal (already cold, not leafy anymore, and not quite snowy yet), it made for a very nice, relaxing time. The draw for us was that the Upper Pass is truly pet friendly. We adopted a dog earlier this year, and as we were considering places to bring our little buddy for a weekend getaway, a lot of hotels we looked at had long lists of arbitrary rules for pets and their owners that scared us away. Not the Upper Pass Lodge - the staff made us all feel welcome, and the entire place was just warm and full of charm. The hotel isn't the fanciest, but our rooms were clean and comfortable, and we felt right at home. We had a LivingSocial for two nights, which made our stay a steal. Along with the room, we got a delicious hot breakfast to order every morning at the hotel restaurant, a cheese plate with two glasses of wine at the bar, and a thoughtfully curated picnic lunch. Vince the hotel manager was very helpful and accommodating during our stay. He suggested that we enjoy our lunch at the nearby Lowell Lake, and even though it was cold, it made for a great afternoon excursion. The Upper Pass Lodge is located in a great area on Magic Mountain with lots of places to explore nearby. A group of locals joined us at the bar one night, and they were all extremely down to earth and friendly, which is how you could describe the entire area. The hotel restaurant and bar serve only Vermont spirits, and many of the menu items are also locally sourced, so it was kind of an adventure every time we sat down for a drink or bite to eat. Having a great restaurant and bar just footsteps away from our room was an added bonus to our stay.

Amazing!! The maple buffalo wings were so crispy and my pasta with veggies and shrimp was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend loved his burger and my mom loved her blt. The service was exceptional. You can tell that they really care about the quality of their food and service. Highly recommend!!

We followed it to the 18th century farmhouse in Londonderry, VT. When we got there, it was not open so I took out my phone and made a reservation on the spot for dinner in two days. Since this was the week before our anniversary, we decided to treat ourselves to this experience. The menu left us guessing at first. There was no delineation of appetizers and entrees. When it was explained to us that items at the top of the menu were considered appetizers because of the portion size, it was a little clearer. But we were still left guessing what was the portion size of these items. We thought we would start with the sourdough rye. It came piping warm with smoked butter. The smoked butter had a bolder taste than your typical sweet cream butter. He wanted the House Made Orecchiette which was a duck sausage but our server said it had a bit of spice but would be manageable. Thankfully, she asked the chef and reported back that it really was spicy so he changed his order to match mine which was the Seared Labelle Farm Duck Breast. Labelle Farm is where they sourced the duck. I love that they know where their food comes from! We both enjoyed the duck immensely. It came with Solo's very own farm fresh vegetables. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake with blueberry compote. Someone brought it with a candle and said, "happy birthday or anniversary." Nice that they put a candle on the cheesecake but I did say it was our anniversary on the reservation. I guess that kinda ruined it for me that she didn't bother to look what special event we were celebrating. The meal was lovely. The farmhouse setting was quaint. You hear all the footsteps of the hardwood floors whenever someone walked. My only critique was that it was VERY warm inside. There was one window that was slightly cracked open but no breeze was felt. It was so warm that we had to ask for ice in our water. I think our meal would have been more enjoyable if we weren't sweating our way through dinner. I guess 18th century farmhouses didn't have air conditioning.

If a restaurant wore its heart on every aspect of its existence, from front door to menu, from…read moresweet cocktails to melt-in-your-mouth sourdough...this obviously well-loved and carefully tended place would be the best kind of example. Dining here was an experience of being nourished in every aspect, including the food that was mouthwatering, delicious, and fresh from the land that the charming old home sits on. Chloe stopped to chat with us at the end of our meal, giving our already memorable meal an even more personal and heart-warming experience. We felt so lucky to have enjoyed a meal at this very special place atop the hill in South Londonderry!

Indeed, this is a big gallery (with a restaurant inside it) so its great for browsing, particularly if you're waiting for your meals. Food is fresh and very good. Had a miso soup while others had a potato/celery soup too. And a mushroom pasta dish to start was also tasty. For main dishes, the salmon was well done with an ample portion. On the negative: The service was haphazard on a busy Saturday night. Go on a weeknight when it is less crowded. They didn't fill out water glasses and seemed to disappear for stretches of time. Also, the "frites" on the steak au frites dish were cold and a plain pasta was a little al dente. Also, the place lacks air conditioning which is 95% fine in Vermont, except on that really warm day. Which was the day we were there. (I should note that our dinner companions had been there on the prior Thursday and said the experience then was spectacular, so the kitchen could've been a bit off on a dish or two). But overall, we had a very pleasant experience and one of the better restaurants in the South Central area. A definite place to go if you're looking for a night out..

So to save someone some grief after driving long distances to dine here and be turned away...you've been warned, you will not find this information on their website either. I checked! We didn't go on a busy night, there was only 5 tables seated and the place was otherwise empty. The attitude that we encountered being told we cannot be accommodated that night would not be something tolerable in the hospitality business and we're glad we didn't spend any money here. We could have easily made reservations for next time if the guy did not let out a god awful sigh like we were I interrupting something. I'm sure the food would have been good, but the service we received was absolutely terrible.

The bar was hopping, bartender was right there - with 'what can I get ya?' - Malbec & a menu...no we don't have it...ok, I'll take the Pino noir & took a few minutes to peruse the menu. The vino arrived very quickly & I was ready to order. ordered New England Clam Chowdha & Chicken Pot Stickers. My chowder arrived at 7:57 according to the photo. Chowdha - ok, more potatoes then clams, flavor was ok and then I waited for the pot stickers...& waited...& waited......at some point another bartender approached and asked if I need a refill on the vino. I said no, but were are my pot stickers? I've been waiting for 45 minutes, are they driving to Chinatown, I said...sorry I'll go and check as she sailed into the kitchen sunset never to return. The original bartender came back asking about a refill, I just shrugged my shoulders and mouthed out POTSTICKERS?...OH, I'll go and check...well at least she returned and refilled my vino. Shortly after, my 6 potstickers arrived in a basket. I try my first one...ok it's deep fried not pan fried but ok, kind or lukewarm on the inside. The dipping sauce was tasty. Ok tried another one, this one is kind of cool on the inside. Took the third one and cracked it open, it's cold & pink on the inside. THIS IS CHICKEN! pink? Called over the bartender and said it's pink on the inside - her response (precious)...they're frozen and pre cooked, NO! I said, they are cold inside & raw...ok she whisked it away...few minutes later another waitress come back with my original basket (re-fried with the split dumpling) & kind of snottily shoves it it front of me and said - sorry it wasn't hot enough for you. The time was 8:59PM. Could not take any photos since my phone died by this time. I must admit, she did take the Potstickers off the tab. Some advice DO NOT ORDER Potstickers! For me, they were just the right size to satisfy! I got the sLAMBer burger which was SO GOOD, such an amazing mix of flavors that I couldn't stop gushing about how good it was! I heard similar sounds of approval from friends enjoying their burgers (the jam one was really popular in our group). Fries weren't spectacular but when you want fries, a GOOD fry is all you need. Now the honey pie! 3 of us ordered a slice and I think everyone enjoyed it! It's a sweet baked good unlike anything I've really had before and the salt flakes on top help to cut the sweetness. It was a bit too sweet for me to eat on my own in one sitting but I still liked it! I wish they delivered but we didnt mind picking up the order since it was only 6 min away by car!
