This hotel is barely better than a Motel 6, on the good side, the pool is fine, the gym is decent, and the staff is friendly. Aside from that the hotel is a dump. Rooms are very old and need updating. The furniture was threadbare, and the bathroom door was chipped and peeling. When I asked for daily room cleaning, I was told "no" I was handed a stack of towels and linens--I guess to make my own bed! There is a Murphy bed, which leaves almost no room to get around the bed at night to use the facilities, as it almost butts up against the table. The bathroom tub is yellowing from age.There is only enough parking for 1/3 of the rooms next to the hotel, which means you need to park in a dirt lot and shuttle to the hotel--what a pain. I only stayed here because it was a wedding hotel, never again.I did not stay during ski season, so cannot speak of the skiing or the spa, but this is barely a one star hotel. read more

POOR HOSPITALITY: I was hoping to be contacted immediately last night or even this morning, to be informed we'd in fact receive late check-out.  (1 EXTRA HOUR.) I and my significant other are many time returning guests at the lodge "Grand Summit" Unfortunately yesterday I was escorted down the mountain by ski patrol to first aid.  I have a lower back injury, complete external hip rotation, and thigh muscle injury.  I am barely able to walk. Multiple individuals had refused us regarding a late check-out over the phone from our room where I am contained. My boyfriend went to the front desk concierge in person and was again refused.  Then I myself, was forced to limp down to the lobby in TEARS to plead with these individuals.  After 20 minutes, they did not even have an ice pack in their first aid kit for me. They do NOT pride themselves on customer service or hospitality.  This is very disheartening and very disappointing.  It has been customary for us to stay here over ski season and now we will be forced to look elsewhere, furthermore.. This will not be the last of my proclamation of this incident. It's quite frankly crewel. We had much with us and many items to pack and load.  Again, I am in severe pain and need to be lying down with ice, not packing and lugging my belongings.  Even a mere extra hour would have been some sort of conciliation. I find it quite extraordinary not even for a guest who sustained substantial injuries they could have provided this  "LATE CHECK OUT" 1 mere hour. Mind you I'm positive house keeping could have circled back around. To be honest they probably wouldn't have gotten to the room by 12pm because they never have, in my many experiences at the Grand Summit over the course of years.  An atrocity. We came on the off-season so there was nothing going on and we had the whole place to ourselves, it seemed. Never. The worst place I've ever stayed in my entire life. Asked for a room with a king bed and Mountain View. Our room stinks like cigarettes. The bed pulls out of the wall! We have no Mountain View. Our view is the back of a utility/maintenance shed. Our table is slammed up against the kitchen cabinet so we can't even get to the silverware. The room is so cramped and bizarre. It's like we're staying in a kitchen. We called the front desk to ask for another room as this is not what was presented to us when making the reservation. They did nothing to fix the situation and they were rude. Crystal even laughed at me on the phone, zero customer support. The manager was flustered and overwhelmed. Because apparently we weren't the only ones staying here that were miserable. The manager did nothing to fix our situation. It also takes over 20 minutes for the valet to get your car. (You HAVE to valet, there are few options to independently park and the couple spots get taken quickly) There's only ONE valet! This place is a mess. I strongly discourage anyone from staying here. We tried to keep the lights off and I tried not to wear my glasses so that I wouldn't have to see the deplorable conditions of my living situation for the weekend. I also never unpacked because I was in denial that I actually had to reside in this dump for three days. So basically, invite someone over that smokes. Have them smoke like two packs of cigarettes in your kitchen. Blindfold yourself, hop in your kitchen sink with a pillow and you'll get the full mount snow grand summit experience without having to spend any money. read more

Rented skis from here and the staff was very helpful. The rentals were a little pricey, but they were high quality and the renters insurance was only 4 dollars a day which is great! This resort is directly next to mount snow, like a 1 minute walk away from the ski lifts which is great. They have a ski store inside for all and any skiing essentials or things you could want. Would rent from here again next time I come down to ski. read more

Highly recommend if you are looking for a spot to ski and stay or just stay. We have not one complaint after spending a weekend here. From valet service to attentive staff when you arrive, you feel welcomed. The check in was simple and quick. They have a restaurant called Harriman's with a bar (see review) inside of the resort. They also have a deli you can eat at. This resort is located right at the bottom of mt. Snow so it is literally ski on/ski off. They have a place to check your boards/skis so you don't have to bring the dirty wet equipment up to your room. There is an arcade for the kids and a heated pool and two hot tubs. The pool and hot tubs look out to the mountain which is beautiful. There is also a sauna, steam room and fitness center. The fitness center includes a plethora of weights and resistance equipment as opposed to your average hotel gym. The rooms were spacious and clean. They included a little kitchen with full sized fridge. The kitchen had a stove, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. Not sure if there was an oven. If you get tired of the deli or restaurant there are other places to eat and drink within a short driving distance away. read more

We had a very enjoyable stay for an evening at Mount Grand Summit Resort. The fall colors surrounding the lodge were beautiful. And, for the peak leaf season in the area we found the nightly room rate to be very affordable & competitive. Also, checking their deals online we found an offer for ski lift rides for use on one day of their stay. Definitely check their actual website, and then I called their reservation line (only available during business hours) and the room package was $30 cheaper through them! Upon check-in your first impression of the resort is "mountain grandeur" from the large beams, rustic aesthetic, & large, lit stone fireplace in the center of the lobby. The check-in process went so quickly & the lobby attendant is great to explain parking options, dining options, and navigation of the property. We went to our room on the 3rd floor and were satisfied with the conditions. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only reason I rate the whole experience a 4/5 is the room we had was next to guests who were very loud. The walls seemed unusually thin - so i discounted the rating for how easy it was to hear all their noise. And the shower head was very low for people of average height & the bathroom space was cramped. (It's possible these were only issues with a king room as well due to the layout.) Do not stay here. The security guard at the pool was creeping over every person there through the fitness area windows. He asked my wife to smell her drink that she had in her hand when we went to the pool, unacceptable. He made all the the kids in the pool and adults very uncomfortable. When I approached him to express our concern, his reply was. "Thank you for letting me know, I will observe from another location." The other location was out on the pool deck. This security guard made my kids so uncomfortable that we left the pool area. We will never stay at this resort again purely because of this situation. First time here. They refused to come pick up the garbage and dirty cups from the room on the third day. We even waited 3 days to be courteous. So we will stay in the dirty room for another day. We met other people who stay 10 minutes away for less.The proximity to the lifts are a bit overrated as you wind up walking to the larger lift anyway. No late check out, no extra towel, no coffee machine, no's all around. read more

We had the most lovely Jewish Christmas (no Chinese food this time) and so grateful to all the staff who worked through their chosen holiday to make my holiday perfect. Our room was spotless the bathroom was impeccable we had a lovely view of the ski slopes from two sides, pool, sauna, free yoga class on CHRISTMAS am with your room, free ACTUAL breakfast on CHRISTMAS Day, and the room was about $100. Amazing. The yoga was a top quality teacher from Kripalu and paid attention to each person offering great corrections. The breakfast was pretty standard eggs/bacon/sausage pancakes, but real maple syrup was available and very nice quality yogurt and fruit. The outdoor pool was amazing and heated we swam while the snow fell on us and then came out and did a nice long steam in there impeccably clean steam room. The changing area, showers all spa quality. Massage therapists were top notch. Fireplaces on multiple floors. Love love and thanks to all for making me like Christmas. read more

I'm not a skier, nor do I play one on TV. But I recently attended a wedding held at the Grand Summit, and I suppose I would have been able to get the full experience had I gone during ski season, as well as knowing what to even do about it. But the hotel was a solid choice for a fall wedding against the trees, and I enjoyed my stay. The rooms all have kitchenettes, so my suggestion would be to bring your own food if possible. You've got the stove, oven, dishwasher, and fridge at your disposal (no pun intended). Had we known we would have all this available, we would have at least brought a box of cereal and almond milk at the most possible minimum. Granted, this was our own fault for not doing adequate research before leaving, but I digress. Don't do what I did, bring food and take advantage of the kitchen! The other option is to visit the general store in town and bring the food back to your room. Whatever you choose, the end result should be the same. The rest of the room was lovely, and the Murphy bed descended right out of the wall. I did worry that the bed would fold back up with me in it, but it didn't happen, and it's a huge sign that I watch way too much TV. The best thing to do year round is to take a ride on the scenic chairlift. For $15, adults age 19-64 can take a round trip up to the top of the mountain and take in some truly amazing views. Nature is the best, seriously. When there's wind, the chairlift has a windshield that can close down to your liking. You get to feel like you're flying up the mountain in a fancy space pod. Once at the top, you can get a drink at the Bullwheel tavern and sit on the patio and continue to drool over the mountain. The ride down gives you a view of houses that remind you of the opening scenes from "The Sound of Music", and who doesn't want to say that the hills are alive and actually mean it? I'm not sure when I'll have the opportunity to return to ski country, but I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Summit on the whole. I still don't think I'll be signing up for ski lessons any time soon, but that mountain covered in snow? Sign me up for the scenic chairlift. read more

Stayed at this Hotel two nights, in two nights experienced three fire alarms, one in the middle of the night probably caused by someone smoking weed in their room as the hallway reeked. The young lady at the desk I believe her name was Lily could not tell us precisely where the ice machine was located. Loud people upstairs sounded like they were walking a horse in the room, people across the hall had screaming kids running the hallway at 10:30pm. What a convenient place to stay at and wake up right on the mountain. Once you drive in, there are valet people who take your car and park it for you. When you check in, they provide you a luggage cart to bring your luggage to your room. The room was just right with a small kitchen and two bathroom sinks. Our balcony faced the blue bird express lifts and so we were able to see if it got crowded on the mountain. The complimentary breakfast was convenient, but make sure you bring your complimentary breakfast passes! We went to the hot tub and heated pool after our runs. There are two hot tubs that can fit a lot of people. There's a sauna, steam room and changing area to dry off/fix hair etc. After we were done snowboarding, they had a cabin to drop off your boards/ski's to watch over night. This place is definitely a must come to when snowboarding/skiing at mount snow. You don't have to drive anywhere unless you go to the restaurants in town! *The tv's had room cast meaning you can watch/steam anything from your phone or computer, which was super convenient at night before bed! read more

I am a new owner and so happy we bought a place at the Grand Summit. Staff is amazing, hotel is always clean and room is great. Easily would give this place 5 stars but upon arrival on my recent trip I learned they have gotten rid of vallet parking. To say the least this is a HUGE disappointment. The excitement of starting your weekend getaway is now tarnished by the fact you have to drop your family off and go park 1/2 mile away only to get shuttled back by someone who could have parked your car for you, makes no sense at all...please bring back valet parking! This is an excerpt from my travel blog: The image of evacuated hotel guests brings back not-so-fond college memories when I lived in the tower dorm building and some jackhole would find it humorous to pull the fire alarm handle at 2am. Unfortunately, this fire alarm was legit as something caught fire in the hotel's fitness center at approximately 4:30am. Fortunately, nobody was injured but of course this was on the night of the wedding. Thankfully we missed out on the fun and games since we were residing in the condos. This colorful bear statue (in parking lot) reminds me of a similarly designed cow statue we saw while visiting a dairy farm in Taiwan. Their lobby is stylish and that of the Mission style. Our condo building. There are a lot of prettier condo's nearby whereas these are more economical and well suited for youngsters seeking a cost-cutter skiing or snowboarding vacation. Think of a low-rent outdated furnished apartment building and you pretty much have it. Uncle Pete went through three (3) rounds of condo's before being housed in their hotel with free upgrades including a large suite and a sauna. Condo one featured a roll-out window which when opened sent shattered glass "like rain" (and the frame) crashing down three stories to the ground below. Fortunately nobody was injured. Round two highlights included a bathroom with a caved in ceiling apparently due to water damage from above. The third round featured a unit without running water. "Good times"... Our condo had some funky issues (ex. duct tape surrounding frames of roll out windows) as well clearly indicating maintenance is a low priority here. We would experience modest accommodations in our condo with us returning to our youth via the "youngsters" volunteering for bunk bed duty. The lamps and furniture are from the early 80s' and early 90s'. Our bathroom features a jacuzzi tub but I'm too scared to turn it on or even contemplate using it. read more

We have been season ski pass holders at Mt. Snow for a number of years, and whenever we stay overnight we stay at the Grand Summit. It is much improved and the best place to stay in the area considering location. All the rooms have recently been renovated.For those rooms with a kitchen they now have stainless steel appliances and all rooms have new linens, fresh paint, and new furniture. The rooms are now very nice. You can not beat the ski-in, ski-out location right on the mountain. Just a few steps to the new bubble lift to the peak. They offer valet car service and ski check to make things easier. The outdoor pool is huge and heated year 'round. There are also two very large outdoor hot tubs. Few things beat the warm pool after a day of skiing. There is a full gym, but no indoor swimming area. My wife has used the spa and found the masseuse she had to be very good. In general the staff is friendly and helpful. In room wireless internet has consistently good connections and fast speed. Overall, if you are there to ski, it is tough to find a better choice. read more

Luxury you are not, Grand Summit, but nice you surely are. It was just two of us, so no need to rent a house or condo, and this is the nicest hotel on the mountain. Upon arrival you have the option to valet park or park in a small lot. We only had to opt for the valet once during our week stay. You check your skis/boards in the lobby which is nice. Our stay included a daily breakfast (choice of buffet or something quick in the cafe.) We did the buffet everyday and I highly recommend it. There were pastries, muffins, yogurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and French toast or pancakes. They also had cereal, bagels, oatmeal and the likes. During the majority of breakfasts we got stuck near tables whose occupants were absent on during the inside voices lesson in 1st grade (hi "diva table!")but that is through no fault of the hotel. The staff was friendly if not a bit clueless at times (as others have mentioned). The rooms were pretty spartan but clean. They could use an upgrade from their 80s decor, but I felt it really added to the charm of the whole experience. Each morning we picked up our gear at the ski valet and treked up the mountain to ski down or over to the lifts. I was actually surprised at the amount of trucking we had to do for a slope side resort. Regardless, it was a great workout so I can't complain that much. After skiing, be sure to check out the outdoor pool and hot tubs. They do no allow alcoholic beverages by the either, but if you bring down a little wine in a paper coffee cup from the cafe it will be our little secret ;). There is a restaurant in the hotel but they stop serving food relatively early. The bar stays open though, so if it's more wine you're looking for you are in luck...until around 10:30 that is! read more

Just stayed here this past weekend and I believe that the room was 120.00 (plus fees)... but a small kitchenette/ murphy bed and a GORGEOUS view of the pool/hot tub/mountain.... I HATE ugly carpets in hotels...so that bothers me....but there were many cozy sitting areas throughout the hotels with plush chairs and fireplaces. There are options for food: restaurants bars delis and entertainment.. There is a shuttle to bring you to town or drive yourself and the mountain is right outside your day. What's better than that? This place deserves one star, but I am giving two because the Valet guy Jan was helpful and friendly. Wish I could say the same for the rest of the staff. My boyfriend and I stayed here over the Columbus Day weekend, and from the moment we arrived we had to wait over 2 hours after check-in time for our room to be available, which was ridiculous. We didn't get to our room until after 5pm! The next issue we encountered was their hotel restaurant. The food was decent; if you like it served cold. No, really. When you're seeing people who came in long after you getting their main courses, clearly something isn't right. We brought it to our waiter's attention, and he was apologetic and ran back to get our food which was no longer hot because it was sitting back there forever. Got a free drink out of it, which to me does not compensate but what ever. The kicker was their hidden fee we just discovered. My boyfriend booked this through Expedia at a set price. While overlooking the statement this morning, he noticed the hotel charged an additional $250 in fees! He called them directly and they tried to say that this was resort taxes & fees, but had no justification as to how they couldn't compile this into the set Expedia price nor provide a disclosure anywhere that this would be charged. There are much nicer resorts to stay at in Vermont if you want to spend that kind of money... this place does not deserve your cash. Needless to say we will not be going back here. read more

The location cannot be beat. I was fortunate to have a mountain-facing room -- so I was able to see the reflection of the sunrise off the snow. Yes, the night that I left the curtains open, I could also see the lights of the groomers -- but that was no bother to me. The room that I stayed in was an efficiency, complete with a Murphy bed and a small kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, coffeemaker, and plates/forks/knives, etc). A great way to inexpensively stay right on the mountain side. The bed was what you might expect for a pull-out, but after a day on the slopes, I could have slept anywhere. Otherwise the hotel was clean, accessible - and the staff super friendly. You can walk out the back door of the hotel and right up to a lift toward the Greens/Blues. There is a valet for your skis/board -- so that you don't have to drag them through the hotel. Overall, I was totally happy with my stay. A nice spot for a weekend away. If you are looking for a place that is kid-free, this is not the place. read more

I love this hotel. Back here after several years and the experience is still lovely. It's ski in/ski out, friendly service, a great restaurant downstairs and has impeccably maintained rooms and common areas. They clearly make an effort to keep the property from showing wear and five years later I don't see it. If anything I see improvements like new kitchens, a fire pit and new carpeting. Skiing at Mount Snow is also a pleasure compared to some other corporate resorts. read more

If it's may don't stay in west Dover at Grand Summit Vermont. I have stayed here at least half a dozen times in the past four years most of those times have been in the summer or the fall. This was a first for spring . skiing season just ended two weeks ago here and there still snow on the mountain tops of Mount Snow. I don't ski but I'm not much for winter sports I prefer summer sports so I basically come here from New York City to chill out. We expected that the restaurant would be closed and many area attractions would be closed this time of year and that was fine. However what we did not expect was the service or lack thereof at the grand Summit Lodge where I have a timeshare. We actually have three units this week and there are five of us staying all women. We're mostly from New York City so we really just wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle in the noise and breathe some fresh air in the green mountains of Vermont. I booked this as an exchange through Rci and we each had one bedroom and studio units which are nicely appointed. The beds are very comfortable and it's a usable kitchenette and the Murphy bed is very comfortable. As I said it was very quiet here or so I thought. First it's a large lodge. Kind of feels like the shining and spring I expected for Jack Nicholson to jump out around the corner at me. Or at least have some big wheeled bicycles and a couple of twins asking me to come join them. But what really was scary about this trip was at first we had some construction workers staying here and they put them on top of us and they were pouncing on the on the floor all morning at 6 AM. Then they decided to test the in room fire alarms which are excruciatingly loud at 9 AM for three or more days in a row at several intermites. Then they forgot to clean our room several days in a row or leave towels or anything else. All that was fine and well but then they started doing construction in the one whole way out of many that we happen to be staying in. When we arrived back to our unit from a day out here they were spraying chemicals and putting together construction on furniture in the hallways. So far and we are still here we're lucky not to of been sent to the hospital. As of yet they have not compensated us for any of these incidents. Because of this I do not recommend that you come here in the spring in May or even June. If you come anytime from June through October it will be many weddings taking place here on each weekend and the cars and motorcycles are numerous and it's very difficult park and the parties continue after after midnight. However during the week it's like a ghost town. I stayed here before and have enjoyed my visits as long as it's not in the spring. When Harrimans restaurant is open it is excellent and have many different craft beers and local food it is Farm to table restaurant. However that is not open in May. There's a huge pool and several hot tubs located outside that are open till 9 PM as well as a game room and owners library adding owners lounge that is accessible with your room Key. There is a 70 inch flat screen TV in the owners lounge that is available for use if you get there first. As well as a full kitchen couches and games that you are able to utilize for your family or friends. read more

I asked the front desk for help us with a ride to our Lodge since we didn't realize the shuttle stopped running at 5pm. It was only 6:15 and the lady at the front desk didn't care to help. So basically I had to walk with two little kids. Wow!!!!! Couldn't believe it!!!! Thank god a pizza delivery guy came in to deliver pizza and gave us a ride. Bad customer service!!!! read more

Everything about this hotel is decent. Food, beds, staff, etc... Ski in/out is great.
