Drove down to Mexico for rx meds for first time
Parked at meters on the US side by the McDonalds, a quick walk to this Pharmacy.
25¢ for each half hour, coin only.
The parent company is partnered with Walgreens and Boots, this is a small location- a larger location is South a couple of miles.
I brought my US prescriptions, which were not needed ( but may be at the pharmacy or at US Customs coming back)
I had used the website to fill a shopping cart with my needs and printed it out- this presented to the staff was very helpful.
We paid 1/6 US prices, using my visa credit card
Again, the staff was very helpful. I got the Benavides affinity card which gives discounts- I bought 3 boxes Jardiance and got a 4th free.
They will be marked with exp date, you will also see Mexico marks with the maximum allowable retail price ( cool feature)
In less than an hour we were back in the car headed home
See you in 3 months !
( US Customs generally allows a 90 day supply for personal use)
If you want to be cool, take a few small bills, you will see people who clearly could use a hand. And patronize some of the craft and decor shops
The people of Nogales are badly affected by drop offs in visitors.
* what you need to know:
Passport !
Take your US prescription, you may need to have re-written by Mexican doctor
Credit cards work, just let your card know you are going the Mexico
The rx drugs may have a different name ( Jardianz for Jardiance) or generics may be available ( Neparvis for Entresto).
Have your list with name, dosage and quantity desired ( as above I printed out the shopping cart I filled on the website)
Be ready for Customs with passport out, they didn't bother to examine the medications I brought in. read more
