Three differently sized playscapes to meet the needs of different aged children. Multiple benches to sit on. Close to a walking/running trail and plenty of space to run around. Turf is old school tan bark, wear closed toe shoes. Also, only one tree providing shade 9:30-10:30am. 75% of play area is in full sun. Bummer. Bring a hat and sunscreen. Ran the sidewalk trail they have and it was actually a good distance, most of it in the sun, but the weather was cool enough to handle it full sun. I'm always a little sketched and on high alert when visiting new parks from out of town so I ran with my phone in my hand. The lower part of the trail is fully visible to others so it's probably not necessary to have to carry a phone. I didn't feel worried once I was out there. Pretty park to run in.

It served its purpose - getting energy out before the next leg of the drive. There's a small area for younger toddlers and bigger playgrounds for older kids. My 2 year loved the taller playgrounds. Many features to run around and play on. There is some wear and tear to the playground. It's muddy when wet out but overall a good park. They offer a shuttle (for donations) to and from the track before racing starts and a shuttle to the track before the race starts. All the donations go to a local church youth group. A lot of the campers a repeat customers and are like a family. We love Dave and Kay!

They were very knowledgable of the area and gave us recommendations on where to eat, hike and visit. This campsite was electric and water only and did they didn't have a dump station to my knowledge. That wasn't a big deal seeing we were passing a Cabela's near by that had one. Despite not having a dump station they still get a 5 star because of how welcoming they were to us.

Reservations were easy to make, and the person we spoke with was friendly. But, we were concerned because the sites on the online campground map looked pretty tight. We arrived late in the evening, so the office was closed. There was an envelope waiting for us on the door with campground and campsite information. The campground itself was pretty small, and the campsites were stacked right on top of each other. Also, the numbering system for the sites was confusing, and we weren't sure which site we were supposed to be using. When we found our site, there was a truck parked on our campsite. The campground manager saw that we were struggling and came to help. Comments on the campground: - The campground office and store were nice, but their hours are pretty limited. - People were quiet and respectful of each other. - The bath house was about 200 yards away, but it was nice, had lots of room and was clean. - WiFi was weak and unstable - There was no fire ring or fire pit and none were available for rent. We ended up going to Walmart and buying one that weighs 10 pounds, and we can take it with us in the future if a campsite doesn't have one. - The campsite was short, but our 30 foot travel trailer fit, just barely. - Even though the sites are very small, the utilities were not in a convenient location. We had to use 2 water hoses to connect fresh water and 3 sewer hoses to connect to the sewer. That was a pain, and I had to go to Walmart to buy extra hoses to finish setting up. We stayed for 4 nights. Overall, it was an ok stay. The campsite was functional, the campground store was nice, and the bathhouse was clean and nice. However, because of the small campsites being stacked on top of each other and the inconvenient utility hookups, we will look for other campgrounds the next time. I give Shadrack Campground a 4/10 overall.

The owner came out and called his friend to bring a truck and got our camper parked. The repair shop wasn't able to get the truck fixed before the weekend was over, so Rocco said we could keep it there as long as needed. Highly recommend staying at Hicks. They treat you like family and went way above and beyond! Even when we came back the following Sunday we were welcomed in. Can't wait to return.

The staff ate like a well oiled machine.. check in was easy! They took up by atv to our site. They had an ice truck running during day to get your coolers filled for race for small fee. THE BIGGER ISSUE: I was charged three separate times for the campground over the course of almost two months (three $400 charges totaling almost $1,200; I had only authorized the original $400 charge). Apparently I'm not the only one this has happened to, according to other reviews online. The charges came at random times/dates and were completely unexpected both times. They never responded to emails or phone calls/voicemails, and I had to contact my bank for a refund and to block them from charging my card again. I tried calling for two weeks, and nothing was ever returned. Would not recommend.

Having quiet time start at 2 am is NOT a good idea. Midnight is late enough. Some people have children, and some people do like to get some sleep. Those that party and carry on til 2 am never stop after that because they are drunk and obnoxious. Security can tell them a million times to stop, but as soon as he rolls away, they start again. If this place wants to maintain the family atmosphere they advertise, they need to revisit quiet time. It's a great place until late night.

The prices are fairly steep if you prefer a "hook-up" location, but the dry section is very popular and affordable. Why not FIVE STARS? The owners need to put money back into the property with much needed maintenance. Not trimming brush and weeds allow many unexpected pests. There is also much needed maintenance on the driveways especially at the entrance with multiple pot holes. They could also work on the grading issues in the parking areas. Maintain the property and it's an easy two star jump!
