Mind you we had our rv park there threw the year but we only stayed 3 or 4 wks every 4 months . So we weren't there all the time at first it was 700 a month with wifi included and ele was 25cents per killerwatts that adds up pretty quick by the time we decided to leave they were charging our card 900 a mo th and pre charge for months we were staying cause they put t our card on auto pay becareful of that . Tennessee has plenty of other rv camps that are alot cheaper

From the moment you arrive, they go above and beyond--checking you in, helping deliver hay and supplies to the barn, assisting you with backing in your trailer, and even knowing exactly what's needed to get it leveled. The paddocks are fantastic and give your horses plenty of space to roam and relax after a long ride. Everything was well-maintained--clean, freshly mowed, and the bathrooms were spotless and spacious. As for the trails, there aren't many. The main 8-mile trail is mostly an old blacktop/gravel road. We also rode the Morrell Trail, which takes you to the top of the mountain. Be prepared for a lot of switchbacks--about 16 inches wide--with a drop-off on one side and a dirt or rock wall on the other. We had an inexperienced rider with us on a solid horse and had no issues. I'm glad we did it, but I probably wouldn't do it again--lol. I've seen some comments about the road leading into the campground. Yes, it is narrow, but I didn't have any problems with my 35-foot truck and trailer. Honestly, I've been on narrower roads in Indiana. We also took a day trip to the Blue Hole, which is definitely worth visiting--especially on a hot day. One tip: don't wear flip-flops for the walk down.

It is a small RV park and it's a mile and a half down a quiet lane, well away from just about everything. A full size Class A would be challenging but doable. I managed to do okay with my Class C. The park has a nice bathhouse, a nice area for campfires and plenty of trees. My parking spot was level, the electric and water worked great. And yes, they do have a wifi but it only just barely reached my spot. And Sprint was useless. This campground wasn't for me, but it may be for you. Campground is new, clean, spacious and provides spectacular long range views and wide open night sky viewing. After enjoying the sunsets we sat by the fire evenings (firewood provided) and saw a few shooting stars. Great hiking close by--loved the Laurel Falls hike. At the suggestion of Hellbenders outfitters went kayaking on Wilbur lake which topped the list of best things we did all weekend. Simply spectacular. We planned to eat in so cannot speak to local restaurant scene other than we did stop for a snack at Big Dan's Bbq in Elizabethtown and it was very good. Would have liked to try the brewery next door but it didn't open until later. We didn't even get a chance to check out Watuga Lake other than drive around a bit and it looks beautiful. We are already planning our next trip and will definitely stay at Lake Haven campground again.

We were the only tent campers there so we had our choice of location. We found the bathhouse to be immaculate with a single huge shower stall - separate sides for men and women. There are also a washer and dryer and a gas grill available for guests to use. Windy, the proprietor, is a friendly and extremely knowledgeable guy. The campground is near "The Snake" and the AT. Be aware that the town consists of 2 businesses. A small diner with good cheap food and a general store that sells fast food type things. These businesses only accept cash.

Not a big deal but we tried to reach the after hours maintenance number with no luck which was annoying. The next day when someone finally came (as we were leaving) there wasn't an apology or any type of compensation offered. (It had gotten really hot in the house that night.) So, 3 stars is mostly for the customer service (or lack of) rather than the amenities, which were really nice.

They walk you through the safety issues so your time in the lake is the best and safest possible. Worth the 45 minute drive from Banner Elk. Bring your own food, as there aren't many places to get a bite on the water. We did have an issue with the alarm continually go off as we were out. We called the marina and they put us on hold. Finally came back in so they could help us. Basically all we got was an "I'm sorry!" When we asked if we got a break for cutting our time short due to the boat, we were told, "No, we only have one season!" Not sure what that's supposed to mean. We still had a good time & we would come back.

So beautiful and clean, and it has everything you need to feel comfortable. It even has a kitchen and playroom! The tent sites are all on the stream which was so peaceful to sleep to.
