He asked for my name and told me about the deal they have going on. Then he let me look around on my own. I found some lovely pieces. I hope to go back soon to purchase a comfy chair for a reading nook in my bedroom. Before I left Buster asked if I had any questions. One store had cloth and faux leather at lower prices but the durability and quality didn't seem worth the lower prices. Another store had cloth, faux leather, and real leather. Once again, the quality and durability didn't seem worth it. Their leather models were good but too expensive. I felt like Goldilocks in Brandon House, the recliner fit me and my wallet just right. Staff. The staff at all three stores seemed as friendly and capable as the others. Not a difference here as far as I can tell, other than Brandon house patriarch was often in the store. Price. After determining the recliner I wanted I called the next nearest dealer in richmond. It was the same price. The price at Brandon house was not negotiable. It was already discounted off MSRP and they did not budge. Perhaps there is more selection at the big box stores on "furniture row" of Virginia Beach. Maybe. But I'm content supporting my local furniture store in downtown Suffolk.

We come to this Lowe's often enough the employees recognize us right away! We have accomplished a dozen projects thanks to the employees at this store. They all seem to know a ton about the department they work in. We have had people advise us on paint, plumbing, lawn care etc. They really know their stuff! I really appreciate that Lowe's supports the military. The extra discount really helps a lot when you are on a tight budget. Today's visit was because we needed a new bedroom door. Not only did he show us where we needed to be, he made sure we had all the parts we needed to hang the door properly the first time. He didn't just point a finger, he walked us to where we needed to go. We also got paint that had to be matched. They really worked hard to find us a suitable compliment to the oddball paint we were already working with. Long story short, we love this store!

They told me to look in the aisle with window and fiberglass screens. I found what I was looking for, then I returned to them and asked if this store could cut the polycarbonate. One guy had an expression like he was so appalled and annoyed that I returned to ask another question. They were still confused until I said "polycarbonate board" and then it clicked for them. One of the guys, with the utmost passive aggressive tone imaginable, told me I'd be better off doing it myself because the only person who does that just uses a box cutter and isn't good at it. I said thanks and walked away, but then I could hear them talking about how dumb I was that I didn't know the difference between a "screen" and a "board". I get it, I could've used proper lingo, but that doesn't give them the right to act super annoyed and talk smack about me right behind my back. At least wait until the break room to do that. I didn't want to make a scene and I had better things to do. I shop here all the time since it is my closest hardware store but I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on, to a store that actually trains their employees to be respectful.

The online picture showed an arrangement of all roses, which is precisely what I paid $95 plus a $20 delivery fee for. When my friend received the bouquet and sent me a photo, it looked nothing like what I had ordered. The arrangement included daisies instead of being composed entirely of roses. When I called the store to address this, Tim, the owner, immediately became defensive. Instead of listening to my concern, he dismissed it, insisting there were 12 roses in the arrangement and telling me to have the recipient count them. I explained again that what I ordered was an all-rose bouquet, not a mixed one. His response was to cite the small disclaimer on the website about substitutions. While I understand substitutions may occur, it is not acceptable to charge a premium price for a whole rose arrangement and then substitute with daisies. What I found most troubling, however, was Tim's attitude. Rather than taking responsibility or even offering to make it right, he repeatedly defended himself, referenced his 88 years in business, and ultimately told me not to use his shop again. For an owner to respond that way to customer feedback, especially in such a sensitive situation, is unprofessional and deeply disappointing. I will never use this florist again, and I strongly caution others: unless you are willing to pay a premium price for roses and end up with daisies, take your business elsewhere. The flowers were not what I ordered, and the dismissive, argumentative customer service from Tim, the owner, was even worse.
