After many years of using the same insurance carrier we started to have some issues with the insurance company. We knew we had to look into a new Insurance carrier, but it was so scary to even think of leaving someone that we had been with for so many years. We just kept on making the large payments and dealing with what we thought was our only options. The company that we had been covered under for so many years changed their coverage structure and their customer service was on a major decline. By chance my husband and I took our son to an outdoor event where I saw a State Farm agent table. I was like, nope. I was so agitated to even walk by there, because the only thing I knew about State Farm was the commercial and other people's bad experiences. I just thought it was going to be daunting to even have the conversation with anyone, much less with a large known Insurance carrier. My son saw a booth that he wanted to go to and I had to walk by. Allison was so amazing! It felt like it was going to be too easy, which made me very nervous. Her spirit and personality just drew me in. She made me feel at ease about transitioning to a new company from all my insurance needs. She made all the necessary transactions. We did very little on what we thought was going to be an overwhelming task. Since then we have had to file a claim with State Farm due to a house issue. We were nervous wrecks, all the things that I have ever heard about filing a claim came to mind. We were so overwhelmed to even make the phone call. The first few steps that we took we knew that we were in great hands. The whole entire State Farm team was by our side the whole way. Phone calls, emails you name it. They were there. Their customer service is one of the best I've ever experienced. I know that their motto is "Like a good neighbor State Farm is there", but it should be "like family State Farm will always be there". Because they have always made us feel so amazing. They have given us nothing but empathy, kindness, patience, and understanding. Even when we had questions or concerns about our insurance coverage, they have been phenomenal. They have always made us feel at ease offering us guidance when we are questioning what we need to do next. They are definitely like the calm of the storm. I know if I call for anything I am going to be smiling and feeling like I am in great hands by the time I hang up. I recently told one of the office team members that I wish I could call them when I'm having other problems, because they make me feel so great by the time I'm off the phone. For more than 50 years I used the same company, and planned on using them again here in Georgetown. However, the local agent was tone deaf when it came to our needs and then tried to upsell us by soliciting our business in the stock market. I had a Realtor in the same business complex as Michelle's office and so we walked across the parking lot to talk with her. So glad that we did! Michelle listened to our needs for our auto policies and signed us up. We met as strangers, but are now good friends. The only regret I have was not listening to Michelle when we bought our home owners insurance. Michelle recommended a lower deductible and I opted for the higher deductible. Bad choice on my part. Less than a year later hail completely destroyed our roof. Lesson learned! Justin is the worst insurance agent I ever had, and that's saying a lot…read more His company got one of those fake awards (that go out randomly, with the award company making their money by selling you a plaque or book), but Justin didn't realize it was fake and sent out a press release about how proud he was to receive the award. That was a red flag and I switched agents, but the best was yet to come. A new agent audited my policies and alerted me that the application on one rental property was done wrong and if I ever had a claim, he'd expect the insurance company to deny it. I called the insurance company and they confirmed. This mistake could have wound up costing me half a million dollars, had I stayed with Justin's company. It didn't end there. I tried to get a copy of that original application from Justin, but he said I'd have to get it from Safeco or my current agent, even though I'd JUST TOLD HIM that they don't have it and referred me to him (since he was the agent that originally sold the policy). He doesn't listen, I have to repeat the same things over and over. So he claims not to have the app, which means that he either keeps lousy records, or can't locate his own records, or knows he screwed up the app and doesn't want to provide evidence of such. He also sent me a supplementary application for *increased limits* and tried to tell me that that was the main application for insurance. Incredible. Definitely made the right call the switch agents.

When I cancelled the policies, I waited over 3 weeks for my refund, still haven't received it, although SafeCo told me that it had deposited the funds in PIG's checking account two weeks previously. Numerous calls to PIG promised action, but none was forthcoming. On our business insurance, the policy exclusions were not properly explained, so when the recent ice storm hit, we were denied coverage on our business income loss and contents loss. PIG did not actively pursue alternate avenues to pay any part of our claim. If you choose to go with this company, be very cautious, and carefully examine the policy, especially the exclusions.
