I also liked that it was open later in the day compared to most other farmer's markets. Upon arrival, there was a good amount of people enjoying the breezy August day, and parking wasn't too difficult to find. We ended up parking along the perimeter of the park itself, since the farmer's market is located at Carmichael Park and the main lot was full. For a smaller farmer's market, there were still a good variety of vendors, and a handful of produce stands. Food and drink vendors were also present, and of course the matcha stand was popping. The matcha stand was called Luz & Leaf, and had a small but varied menu, including a seasonal mango matcha lemonade for the summer. I had to go for the London Fog Matcha Latte, since I love earl grey tea (and lavender syrup). This matcha latte was the perfect drink for walking about the farmer's market, and so smooth. The ice level was just right, and I'm so glad they had oat milk for me, as that has been my milk of choice these days for my coffee/matcha orders. There were only two girls manning the matcha stand, and they were working diligently to whisk matcha and get orders out in a timely manner. I absolutely did not mind waiting, and enjoyed watching the girls put together everyone's drinks. I also got a stamp card from them since I would definitely want to have more matcha from them again. The other vendor we ended up purchasing from was a sweet lady who sold green tea leaves, including Kan Cha, which is one of the rarest teas in the world. She works directly with small farms who grow the special tea leaves, and sells them at a really reasonable price point. I ended up getting a packet of the Kan Cha, and will be making some once it gets cold enough to make hot tea (she recommended to steep it in hot water for best flavor notes). As we were busy training with my friend's dog, we didn't quite experience as much of the framer's market as much as I wanted to, but I'm sure we will be back some other time. This farmer's market is super dog friendly, so it's a perfect environment for working on handler engagement and neutrality. The majority of the dogs seemed decently behaved, but I personally wouldn't bring my own dog to this farmer's market, especially since the majority of dog owners don't pay good enough attention to their dogs, and don't hold their dogs to a high standard of obedience like I do with my own dog. We had a few close calls where owners didn't care and literally allowed their dogs to stare at or wander close to my friend's dog, which is very rude. All in all, I'm glad to see this little farmer's market thrive, and would love to check out some of the other vendors next time we visit.

This farmers market happens once a week on Sunday mornings from 9am-2pm. This market is located at Carmichael Park on Grant Avenue. Generally I'd say there are about 50 or so vendors each week at the market,though I have seen that number a little higher on random weekends. Free parking at this park is pretty plentiful as Carmichael Park has many parking spaces available. These vendors are pretty good-quite similar to the vendors that I've seen at the Midtown Farmers Market-fresh fruits and veggies,a few vendors making fresh foods,like the cinnamon rolls vendor that got me to this farmers market. They have a vendor who has massage chairs setup and offers massages to customers. Another vendor I love is an Asian Bakery,selling incredible milk bread and sells these great egg salad sandos on milk bread-solid stuff. The best vendor, though,as I mentioned earlier is the cinnamon roll vendor and it's fabulous.The lines for this vendor can be pretty long and they sell out every weekend-I fully recommend them. The entrance had a lot of traffic, but parking was plenty & organized. Admission was $5, which felt reasonable for the experience. The market itself was huge. large crowds, a wide variety of vendors, and something for everyone. was impressed by the great prices on fresh fruits and vegetables. There were also food trucks, rides for children, and even live music which added to the fun atmosphere. Be prepared for a lot of walking because the market is massive I didn't even make it through the entire place and found myself circling around. Even so, it was a great first experience, and my family and I had a really enjoyable time. I'd definitely recommend it for a fun day out, especially if you enjoy shopping, food, and family-friendly entertainment.

There are kid items & toys, clothing & accessories, plants, decor, car parts, garden fixtures, furniture with very specific aesthetics, yard work equipment, so much "stuff". Parking was $5. It's a big area that you can stroll. Here & there you find tables & chairs to sit under covered areas, but they can be quite dirty & dingy. There were large Connect 4 games (& thank goodness I always carry around my trusty hand sanitizing wipes!) There were a couple of simple kiddie rides. It looked like a band was setting up on a stage to play live music. There are many different food options. We sipped some delicious & refreshing agua frescas from El Ciriancito. We got pepperoni pizza from Montiel's Woodfire Pizza (it was adequate, customer service was not). We also got some street tacos. To be sure, there's randomness, & lots of it. At times, it makes you ask deep philosophical questions about the items we amass. We entertained ourselves with musings on who buys certain things & what is the rest of their life like?? However, I live nearby and I've noticed the place being remodeled the past few months (possible new owner?) I decided to stop in today and was delighted with what I saw! Many name-branded fruits (like Chiquita bananas, Sunkist oranges) and vegetables, all of good quality - not to mention, cheap as heck. There's all kinds of fruits and veg here, some you probably wouldn't find in a regular grocery store. Pumellos, guava, tiny vine-grown grapes, harvest apples, baby yams, and more abound. You can also buy fresh honey, bee pollen, honeycomb, and what appears to be roti-like breads. I also noticed a small stand of Milka chocolate bars and other European sweets tucked away near the back of the store. The cashier was very nice and courteous, as well.

Great Farmer's Market Right *SMACK* In Front Of City Hall!…read more SITREP Sacramento has been pretty lucky in recent years to have such a healthy diversity of Farmer's Markets scattered throughout the Downtown / Midtown areas, and even off the grid near UC Davis and under the Freeway. THE SETUP I have to admit that I DO miss the "romantic ideals" of the farmers markets, and when they close down at the end of summer / beginning of Fall, there is something missing from our great sidewalk landscape as we head into the colder winter months. BUT REALITY SETS IN Nowadays, though, I am very much less enamored of Farmer's Markets in general though because in all practicality they are not at all the deal they once were: * There was the assumption at the inception of these downtown markets in years past that buying direct from the "farmers" would bring some substantial savings in buying produce and other fare; however, * In recent years, the vendors (if even farmers now) are merely cacheing on that notion, hoping that we downtown-workers will just buy for the "glorious outdoor market experience" (and which, in all honestly, is still fun if grabbing a bunch of grapes or cherries to nibble as I walk along); and yet, * But a prudent trip to Bel Air, Raleys. Safeway, or even Nugget Market will demonstrate pretty convincingly that the prices the market-vendors are charging really are ripping us off. THE LOWDOWN As a practical reality in which to actually "BUY" significant produce for my weekly cooking extravaganzas, I'm pretty much "over" these markets. But as a nod to the markets & bizarres of public squares gone by, I DO still enjoy a literal romp around the park, checking out the vendors on the sidewalk.

So when we moved here, we were happy to discover the Natomas Farmers Market. Although it isn't as large as the Davis Farmers Market, we've still found plenty of wonderful local farmers and small businesses to support. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, with people strolling from booth to booth, catching up with neighbors, and browsing the seasonal offerings. We've even discovered a few local farms we like enough to visit directly. There's something special about knowing where your food comes from and supporting the people who grow it. We also enjoy exploring the other local vendors, especially the bakery. Sometimes we arrive looking for fresh produce and leave with something from a bakery that we never planned to buy . It's hard to resist when the air is filled with the smell of fresh bread and pastries. The market has become a favorite weekend stop for us. We can walk around, see what's fresh, chat with vendors, support local businesses, and enjoy some fresh air and community spirit. After so many years of the Davis Farmers Market being part of our lives, it's nice to have something similar here in Natomas. We only wish it were open year-round instead of being seasonal.

This will definitely be my go to for pumpkins now! The worker even helped me put all my pumpkins in my car after seeing me make multiple trips which was really nice. They even have pampas for $5 a stem! I was so excited to find these here and got a few. Beware that the leaves fly around a lot so be sure to cover it in the car.
