Our pies were fresh and perfectly made, and the carrot birthday cake -- a special request from the birthday boy himself -- was absolutely stunning. The actual base cake was baked nicely fluffy and moist firm enough to not crumble in your hands like a lot of cupcakes do but not too firm where you feel like you're eating something that has been sitting out for a while or just came out of the fridge. I enjoyed the cake. The frosting/flavoring was super underwhelming. After you taste it you realize it's more so there for the aesthetic and doesn't really contribute anything to the flavor. In a blind taste test you'd think it was just buttercream frosting with decorations. It doesn't add anything. I could've just gone with a plain chocolate and plain vanilla. The frosting was hard and felt like something out of the fridge and pretty much inedible because of the sheer amount of it. Quite the opposite of the cake that it tops. Not the best cupcake not the worst wish I tried some of the other pastries there because they did look appealing but the basics of what I got being so lackluster won't drive me to return. However if I do I'll try a cake slice or something and see how that is.

Friendly, helpful staff (even super early on a Sunday) and the donuts were seriously the best we've had in the area. We got glazed chocolate, toasted coconut, Boston cream, honey dip, and the sour cream donut. The toasted coconut and Boston cream were favorites.
