But Emily, the manager, and her father John, the owner, did something I truly didn't expect -- they made it work anyway. They went out of their way to make sure we still got everything we needed, and on Easter Sunday of all days. That kind of customer care is rare. It would have been so easy for them to simply say "sorry, we're closed" -- but instead they showed up for us in a way we won't forget. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Our pies were fresh and perfectly made, and the carrot birthday cake -- a special request from the birthday boy himself -- was absolutely stunning. Everything tasted like it was baked with real love and care, and it made our Easter celebration (and birthday!) that much more special. I come here often, specifically for their blueberry muffins, and iced coffee, but everything else we've had here has been delicious. I like that they have homemade Italian bread that you can have sliced. Staff is always friendly and more than willing to help. They've expanded their shop over the last couple years with other items like candy and refrigerated items, which is a nice touch. Lots of "grab and go" pre packed items. My only 'complaint' is that the parking lot is a complete nightmare if you come during peak hours. I make sure I go during the week and at an off time. read more

There's a time I would've recommended for Tellis 1000% but I have been buying pastries and cakes from them since they opened. The last year it has been a lot of problems with the cakes I special order and I don't get what I order and then today I went in to pick up a cake and I asked for a white cake with white frosting and a yellow cake We like white we don't like yellow cake so yes it's important to get the right kind. I just don't understand why their help doesn't know which cake white versus yellow very frustrating and it's too late to return it because the shop is closed for the day. read more

The family always gets cakes from Montilio's and Fratelli's. On my son's first birthday, Montilio's didn't have our $405 cake ready as promised (3rd error in 2 weeks). My wife was in their lobby sobbing that the party was ruined and they had no solution at the time but a refund. I called Fratelli's to beg for help and let them know she was on the way. The girl on the phone (I think Alana) was super helpful and nice and said she would do everything they can to help. My wife arrived and was still sobbing and showed a picture of what we wanted and the cake decorator (Kim) immediately started making the cake we wanted (for 1/3 of the price). It came out perfect. Fratelli's saved our party. There will never be a debate in which bakery we go to. This family spends thousands a year in cakes and cupcakes and not one dime of it will go to Montilio's. read more

We recently put in a last minute order in for a first communion cake at Fratelli's. With it being such a busy time for 1st communions, we weren't expecting to get the service that we did. We figured we could get something standard - but the staff outdid themselves. Not only were they so accommodating, but when I spoke to Emily she asked if we wanted to add cookies as party favors for our friends and family who joined us. We hadn't even thought about doing something like that - but it was such a thoughtful and cute touch. My niece was SOOOO happy when she saw her cake and cookies. Not gluten free!! I ordered 30 cupcakes for a bridal shower and 5 gluten free ones for a couple guests with gluten allergies. I wasn't made aware when I ordered that there may be cross contamination and that they weren't truly gluten free, more gluten sensitive. One of the guests from the event left covered in hives. The other cupcakes were a hit though! When I called to make them aware, just so they are sure to tell their customers in the future of cross contamination, the women who answered the phone seemed less than caring and unpleasant. Loved everything about this bakery. They were attentive and responsive. The day I was scheduled to pick up my cake they called me early to inform me that they had to close early but my cake was ready for pick up at that same moment. My dad picked up a Dutch apple/apple crumb pie and a Yule log checker board type cake for Christmas. I am 100% convinced that the Dutch apple pie is the greatest pie I've ever had in my entire life. We always buy too many desserts for holidays and there was NO leftovers of pie which was very disappointing in this situation BUT I'm happy to say it went quick because it was SO good!! Received pastries that were very disappointing. They weren't fresh and Cannoli filling was scant at best. Customer service was the worst, as they had no interest in hearing anything negative about their products. Frankly, I actually found the Counter person rude. I'm clearly in the minority here but I just don't think this place is very good. I'm just not a fan of Italian bakeries. I'd eat at an Italian restaurant every day of my life, but as far as the pastries go, no thank you. I ordered a key lime pie from here once, for a dinner party I was hosting. I picked it up, walked outside, showed it to my husband and I said "We can't serve this". He agreed. We drove over to White's Bakery and got a new key lime pie that was delicious. The Fratelli's one had bright green food coloring in it - it was basically pie crust filled with, whipped cream that was colored with green food coloring. No lime flavor at all. It was bad. Really bad. Now maybe that's not their speciality - BUT more helpful staff would have let me know that and tried to steer me in another direction. I've also gotten coffee and cookies here when I was shopping nearby at Previte's. It's just never very good. I did pick up some brownies once that were ok. Just ok. read more

Got a really delicious and fairly priced Cookie Monster cake for my daughters 4th birthday party. It was exactly what she wanted and a big hit at the party! The frosting is the real sugar kind, which I love, and the cake was totally amazing! The place was crowded on a Saturday morning, but I was in and out pretty quickly because of the special order. Went there yesterday to pick up pastry for St. Joseph's. Only had 2 and I needed 8. Was told to call the following day and place an order. Upon calling was told they can't take orders. This place is amazing! I didn't know I even liked cake until I came here! My favorite pastries are the MONKEY BARS, tiramisu, and chocolate nightmare cake. Cute little bakery on the South Shore. This bakery has a lot to offer its customers. They have a large variety of pastries to offer their customers but that's not it they also have a selection of home made breads you can purchase and get sliced on spot. I love going in around any of the holidays and seeing the different sugar cookies they have available. Best macaroons ever! Don't want to share! Last weekend bought a raspberry mocha cake for my Yule dinner and everyone fought over it. I have been a fan since the day Fratelli's opened in Weymouth- I was curious as to what was inside the nice new building and took a stop in. I am generally not a huge bakery person, but was very impressed by the caliber of their goods. Now I detour my way in order to stop in for an iced coffee and raspberry pie turnover! The girls are very nice, the shop always looks clean and organized, and the prices are amazing for the baked goods! I have sent numerous people here, and they have become followers as well. I would not hesitate to use them over whites for birthday cakes etc. as they are half the price, and in my opinion better. The downside is the parking lot... since the first Christmas their parking lot is generally full, and it is rather treacherous to get in and out of. Just last week I was craving a pastry but kept going because I didn't have time to deal with the parking. To give the owners credit, on major holidays etc they have a police officer directing traffic. I think as a suggestion they would do good business somehwere between them or Prevites with fresh breakfast sandwiches, it is a great location to grab coffee and a quick togo on he way to work. read more
