From the…read morefirst call we were clear that we had a firm deadline tied to our listing, more than a month out, and we were assured repeatedly it would be no problem. It was not. The start kept getting pushed back to the last minute. The first crew couldn't finish, said they ran out of materials, and left a mess of food boxes and trash across our backyard and basement floor. After that it became a pattern: every time I asked for a completion date I was told "very soon," and it never happened. There was always a new reason, most often that materials weren't available or an installer couldn't be found. The delays forced me to reschedule our staging and photography, which cost me significantly out of pocket. At the final deadline the job still wasn't done. I was told it could only be finished with a mismatched carpet, and even then they missed the day they promised. In the end I had to find and pay someone myself to finish the job Ogden's had started. Part of my basement is now mismatched, the work finished late, and it only got done because I stepped in and paid out of pocket to complete it. Despite very clear communication about the stakes, Ogden's has not made any effort to make this right. I'd think carefully before trusting them with a project that has a real deadline.

I think its a common practice in the industry to over estimate the square feet. I always end up with extra. RC willeys in particular does this (their sales people work on commission, so be careful) So always double check the measurement so you don't get overcharged on the installation. Flooring Liquidators product was fine. You just need to work hard to buy from them and then worry about their "sub contractors" who are not a part of the company. So, not a slam against Flooring more about being aware of sub contractors. Would be well advised to compare estimates on flooring and ask about refunds, restocking fees, etc.

What a terrible experience. Before deciding to spend over $20k with OWSI, we had already sourced…read morecomparable materials from other shops. We walked into OWSI with most of our decisions already made. We decided to work with OWSI once they promised by centralizing everything with them, quality would be higher, they would be more efficient, and more cost effective. Instead, we experienced delays (they assigned blame to third parties in opposition to their promise that by centralizing they could operate more quickly), low quality work (that was ultimately fixed thankfully), and significantly higher expense. All this could've possibly been swept under the rug. When the final bill came and it wasn't what I expected, I called our POC (who also happens to be the manager) for an explanation before paying. With full intent to pay once the charges were clear to me, I called over a dozen times for 6 weeks, along with texts and emails. Instead of speaking with me, they put a lien on my house. Only once I threatened to involve a lawyer did they finally send me an email addressing my concerns. I immediately paid the balance and 3 months after everything, the lien has finally been removed. Especially after the delays and issues we experienced, I would've thought they would at least keep an open line of communication. Instead, they avoided any confrontation. To be clear, every person at OWSI and the third parties I ultimately had to resolve timelines with was professional and kind, despite working through issues. The POC/OWSI Manager who I won't name was the core problem throughout this process - overselling in the beginning, passing blame in the middle, and avoiding the situation entirely in the end.
