If you want a locally owned company that truly cares about their communities Kona Impact is that…read morecompany. They helped me so much upon my arrival with needing some printing done. Brian the owner let me use his facilities to cut out a graphic. He also gave me expert advice on doing the job.

Disrespectful customer service. I'm the creator/writer of a comic book series that's to be released…read moresoon with an independent publisher and was trying to get t-shirts made to promote our Kickstarter campaign. After emailing the designs over to Brian, he replied "Sorry, we cannot print trademarked characters." I called to clear up the misunderstanding and told him that I have IP ownership of the characters and he skeptically responded "YOU made these designs?" I told him that my artist collaborator did (he's a Philippine National Book Award winning illustrator so they're very high quality) and he skeptically asked again "And he's signed a release form for these?" I told him that he could sign a release form. Brian then told me they had to pass on printing for this reason and because type of file/design wouldn't work for DTF printing. I can understand that our designs may not be suited for the printing Kona Impact is capable of doing. I can even understand maybe not wanting to take a risk with trademark legalities. What I did not appreciate was the dismissive assumption that I was not the co-creator of the characters and that I was being disingenuous when I told him that I was. This interaction was especially frustrating and disappointing seeing other positive reviews Brian and Kona Impact has received. I expect to be treated with respect with anyone I'm trying to business with and will absolutely not seek to work with this company again.
