Other individuals may have different opinions and experiences, but these are mine. My tenure at this company was very short lived. I'd been attracted to it after seeing their social media posts and ad campaigns. Employees were prominently pictured on social media, meetings/company breakfasts shown, and happy customers pictured next to their new equipment. I was even included on two social media posts during my short tenure. I discovered, in short order, that the company's social media/advertisement persona was not entirely accurate to it's real life culture, values, and day-to-day operation. I worked in the company's HVAC installation department, so I can only confidently present my opinions based on my experience with this end of the business in particular. The company does operate HVAC service and plumbing service/installation. I've no experience in those departments. Leaps and Bounds (L&B), formerly AC Service Pros, has been in operation for approximately 2yrs and has begun rapid expansion of it's business model within the last year. It is my opinion that with that expansion has come rapid and significant decline in quality of workmanship and compliance with the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (PA UCC). I had observed, reported, and attempted to rectify issues with installation that I believed went against customers' best interests, standard trade practices, and that were, in some cases, blatant violations of PA UCC and EPA 608. Opinions and observations presented in later paragraphs will explain why I have come to this conclusion about the company. Firstly, I had observed that a decent amount of L&B's installers had less than one year of experience in the HVAC trade. Most began their HVAC career with L&B and had assumed that L&B's company practices, operation, and lack of oversight/back end support were standard within the industry. After all, their only point of comparison was L&B. Certain persons working with and recovering refrigerants also had no EPA 608 certification at any level and were not being directly supervised by an individual who held a certification. Sometimes, certification holders were not even on site. With that said, L&B had some installers with an abundance of experience and proper certifications. However, this would lead to extremely large variations in quality of installs from job to job. Additionally, concerns amoungst more experienced installers regarding job quality, back end support, and logistical support were ever present. The turnover rate for experienced installers was high due to these factors. In fact, the install manager that interviewed and hired me had quit within a week of my hiring. Call backs and warranty repairs on equipment that was less than one year old was routine for this company, and mainly stemmed from their use of less experienced persons as install technicians. Restricted TXV's and filter dryer replacements were common due to their non-use of nitrogen flow when brazing and excessive use of brazing material, causing excessive build up of contaminates within the lineset. Other common call backs would include supply/return ducts and trunks falling apart due to improper securing methods, system issues due to a plethora of ductwork deficiencies (improper sealing, undersized returns, supplies not receiving enough airflow leaks, ductwork/grilles falling apart or off the wall, etc...), leaks stemming from non-glued PVC fittings or backpitch, system failure caused by improper wiring. One specific issue that I'd like to mention would be a warranty call that I responded to in which the installing technician ran a 10/2 UF wire up the side of the home and wire stapled it across the home's asphalt shingled roof, running it back down the side of the home to the mini split ODU. A run across the basement and along the house's siding was possible and is what I had replaced the previous run with. The roof was obviously compromised and shingled needed to be replaced due to the previous installers negligence. The company meetings that I had experienced also differed from what had been portrayed on social media. The first meeting I had been in attendance for consisted of one of the owner's, Brandon Carey, all but yelling at everyone in attendance in regards to many of the quality issues and callbacks that I have mentioned in previous paragraphs. Rather than taking responsibility for their role in the issues regarding quality and call backs, by means of using in experienced technicians as leads and providing minimal support/training, installers were singled out in front of the group and threats were made to reduce pay or move to flat rate based pay due to the issues. No solutions like increased training, supervision, or creation of a company wide standard practices booklet were provide

In 2020, I contacted UGI about installing gas service. I had previously reached out to them and…read morethe cost would have been $800. This time, the line was free as long as gas appliances were hooked up within a certain time frame. We had two huge oil tanks in the basement and the oil furnace was large; all of these were removed. The estimator was fabulous and described how all the work would be done and how long it would take. The installation went pretty well but for some reason, the crew put the meter directly in front of the our driveway water spigot. The estimator came back the day of the installation and seemed as perplexed as me so he got a pipe wrench and removed the meter and reversed its position to effectively move it about a foot. The fellas who came to the house to remove the old furnace and replace it were incredible. It happened to be one of the hottest days of the year and I was working from home and didn't like the idea of being without air conditioning while they replaced the furnace. No worries: from the time they began work, at 8am, until the new furnace was installed and the air conditioning was working, was less than two hours. I was hugely impressed that those gigantic oil tanks were removed up the interior steps and out the kitchen door. They were even larger in appearance in the driveway than they looked in the basement and I am grateful to have them gone. Anyway, things went well. The estimator came back to check on the progress throughout the day of installation and came back afterward to make a small adjustment at my request. Oddly, the condensate pump on the furnace stopped working while we were away on vacation so we came home to a sweltering house. I called UGI and within an hour, a technician came, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the pump. Switching from oil to a high-efficiency, multi-speed gas furnace has been the most-sound investment in the house. The new furnace works reliably, quietly, efficiently, and provides more comfort than the older one -- which was still in great condition -- I just wanted to switch.

In this case, we needed to replace a natural gas hot water boiler and the water tank connected to it and we hired LCS. LCS had glowing reviews here on Yelp and I hoped they were true when we decided to hire them. I can say now that those reviews weren't glowing enough. LCS's attention to detail and their commitment to the quality of their work is amazing. Three anecdotes to give you a feel: 1) They were to arrive on day 1 of a 2-day installation at 8:30 am. They arrived at 8:33 and the first words out of their mouth were a sincere apology for being late. 2) At the end of the job, they found that the thermostat they had was not the one they ordered, and they asked to stop by the next day to install the correct one. While here the next day, they noticed a drip from the exhaust vent that that might possibly hint at a thing that, someday, in the exact wrong conditions, could possibly cause a problem with exhaust pressure. And they then spent the next 6 hours very, very, very slightly rerouting the exhaust to correct that fault. 3) Later that same day, at supper time, the new thermostat - which was working fine when they left - failed; it wasn't demanding heat. I called and they were back within 20 minutes with a new thermostat. The system has worked flawlessly since. These guys are a small locally owned small business. Just some guys trying to make a living. Jason, Jonathan and Patrick are the ones I know they're legitimate, honest, responsive professionals who are trying to do it right. Reward them.

He explained everything in layman's terms and made sure I understood what was going to happen. After selecting LCS we were pleased in how quickly they were able to get the job scheduled and completed. Our new Heat pump system is so much better than the old oil system. It's quiet, efficient, and does not have that smell. Jason, Pat, and John worked well as a team each getting their part done and letting me know along the way how the process was going. I am really happy with our choice to go with Legacy Comfort Systems and you will be too.

It's sad I have to do this but Addrian it's willing to accept accountability so here we go! I found…read morehis services on Angi when I submitted a form for a master plumber to do a commercial job. Addrian came to location and my dad(who's my general contractor) and I further explained what was needed. When speaking about this job I have always said master plumber because that's what the township told me the require. Addrian said he was. So without checking his license I paid the $2700 which was 50% upfront. The day that work starts I learn he has sub-contracted the job out. I found this out because the person was who purchased the material needed and the receipt I got was a different logo from Addrians. But ok the price didn't go up I'll let him work. During the middle of this man working I remembered to ask Addrian did he pull the permit. He said I was to pull it as the owner! Red flag number one I am not a plumber and can't get that permit only one for the building build out it self which I have. I assumed he could give me his credentials and I'll fill out the form for him thinking he didn't have the time. But I proved to him the township requires him to come in. He talks to them and the said what I told him already he needs a master plumber license which he said he has until the township asked for it. So he tells me to find a master plumber willing to sign off on the work his guy did and they will finish the job and he will search too. Well I find out that it's illegal to have someone sign off for insurance issues etc. I found a real plumber who doesn't want anything to do with Addrian so I tell Addrian to void my balance and return $1700 you keep $1000 mind you I paid for my own materials. And my Dad helped him do some of the work. He is refusing to return any of my money knowing he lied. So now I'm going to file with the AG office against his license and LLC. He could have said we spent the money 50/50 that was paid but no he only has the blame game to play. Sad! Don't work with a lier Update: I try my best to support Black businesses but sometimes you have to call people out before they act right. Either way I am making this update to say Addrian apologized and we were able to come to a happy middle. We all make mistakes as I told y'all I should have done my research before paying anything. But it's not about the mistake it's about what you do afterwards. And afterwards he fixed the issue that's all that matters to me.
