I had been working with this company for years and had invested a great deal of money (thousands of…read moredollars!) into their services. I recently had a problem with my heat pump and after 3 service calls to my home, they finally diagnosed the problem. I was told that the solution would cost me $1,100 dollars and I was shocked! They agreed to reduce the fee to $800.00 and give me credit for previous service calls, but I thought it was still outrageous! When I asked for a breakdown of materials and labor, they refused to provide the information stating that they "don't do that" and have a "flat-rate" charge. When my son went on line to match the materials needed to do the job, we discovered that I was being "hosed" by Buffington! I also estimated that they were attempting to charge me $250.00 an hour in labor. DO NOT USE this company unless you want to be scammed. They are dishonest and shady. I found a local, smaller HVAC company recommended by a neighbor. They laid out the labor charge up front, as well as material cost. The total charge to repair my heat pump was $259.00 by the other contractor and took one hour to complete! RUN, DON'T WALK away from Buffington!

In this case, we needed to replace a natural gas hot water boiler and the water tank connected to it and we hired LCS. LCS had glowing reviews here on Yelp and I hoped they were true when we decided to hire them. I can say now that those reviews weren't glowing enough. LCS's attention to detail and their commitment to the quality of their work is amazing. Three anecdotes to give you a feel: 1) They were to arrive on day 1 of a 2-day installation at 8:30 am. They arrived at 8:33 and the first words out of their mouth were a sincere apology for being late. 2) At the end of the job, they found that the thermostat they had was not the one they ordered, and they asked to stop by the next day to install the correct one. While here the next day, they noticed a drip from the exhaust vent that that might possibly hint at a thing that, someday, in the exact wrong conditions, could possibly cause a problem with exhaust pressure. And they then spent the next 6 hours very, very, very slightly rerouting the exhaust to correct that fault. 3) Later that same day, at supper time, the new thermostat - which was working fine when they left - failed; it wasn't demanding heat. I called and they were back within 20 minutes with a new thermostat. The system has worked flawlessly since. These guys are a small locally owned small business. Just some guys trying to make a living. Jason, Jonathan and Patrick are the ones I know they're legitimate, honest, responsive professionals who are trying to do it right. Reward them.

Kline's repaired our sewer four years ago. At the time I was happy with the service because, let's…read moreface it, the sewer now worked. In May our sewer collapsed again. This time I used Cocalico plumbing because I had used them recently. When the sewer was excavated this time, it was found that Kline's had used the old terra cotta pipes that were there instead of replacing them with PVC. The terra cotta joints were coming apart and where they connected the PVC to the old terra cotta, a corner of it had broken off. I called Klines and talked to James Frizzell, the plumbing manager and sent him several pictures of the damage. He said the work only carries a one year warranty (one year warranty on sewer pipes?) but that I should get back in touch after this work was finished and he would "work with me". After the work was finished I called and emailed him hoping to get some kind of compensation for their poor work. He's answer was they wouldn't do anything about it since the one year warranty had run out and that the Borough had signed off on the work when they did it four years ago. While this is true, knowing they did a poor job and that I was now having to have their work re-done at an expensive cost to me, I was hoping he would "work with me" and give me some type of refund. As a result I will never use Kline's again and will encourage anyone to go with a company that will stand behind their work.

He was able to confirm that the ten Invade Bio Drain gel treatments that we have applied have been successful in clearing the drains of organic matter as far as the flashlight could reach. He also was able to determine that the source of the infestation issue is likely tied to drainage issues in the backyard, as well as the storm drains in the front of the house. We scheduled for Mike to come out Monday morning. They offered free camera scope of the drain and a military discount. The camera didn't show any clogs but identified a problem with the pipes. The house was once on a sandmound but went to city sewer and the installers went from plastic to cast iron back to plastic. The change from plastic to cast iron created a place for stool to catch and cause a blockage at least temporarily. Mike recommended an extra flush or two to reduce the solid build up. Did they fix the problem? No as there free camera scope showed no problem. Would I use them again? You bet!!. Shelby, the voice on the phone was pleasant and she explained the offers, the process, and answered every question I had. Mike, the technician, was friendly, professional and showed me the video he took of my drain while explaining what I'm looking at. Other than the extra flushing, he recommended (but didn't pressure) I redo my inside drain piping since there are many changes due to DIY projects and not many straight pipe runs.
