She is one of the most dependable and nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet. She is also a kick ass dog walker/sitter! Long weekend? Short notice? Week long vacation? Farrah never once turned down a job in the three years she worked with us. She never missed a scheduled walk either. If anything came up she would find coverage for you. My wife and I never had to worry! She spoiled us beyond belief. Most importantly though, our dogs absolutely LOVE Farrah. We are moving away from Astoria, so we will need to find a new walker. We will never take for granted how amazing Farrah has been these last few years, as no dog walker could compare. She set the bar impossibly high. Thank you for everything Farrah! Ok, so there is what I observed and then what my kitten Marbles told me to type down. Ill go with me first. It's extremely difficult for me and my family to leave our precious scottish fold home alone and even harder to trust someone with our apartment keys. Word of mouth and references (yelp basically) is the only feasable way to know for sure so I yelped away and found that Farrah was at the top of her game. One after another, people are happy with her so I said if I have no choice but to trust someone with my apartment keys and to take care of our little guy, she's definately the one. Basically if everyone loves her and uses her, its someone you can trust. Now what cat marbles said about her: As you all are well aware, a cat of my pedigree and breed (scottish fold) dares not venture to a boarding place for they are all incompetent and beneath me! With that said, Farrah was a darling who came and fed me twice a day for 3 days, and played with me with endearing love. I know this because my human masters showed me daily pics of me they received from Farrah showing me happy and playful. Farrah is the best! She is dependable and punctual, and has quite a way with animals. When my fiance and I have had to go away, we can always count on Farrah to come spend quality time with our cat, Charli. She even refuses to make fun of Charli's name! But to really convey how much animals mean to Farrah, let me share a story: I was walking to the subway one day and bumped into Farrah on her bike. We stopped and chatted for about 5 minutes, but I couldn't hold Farrah's attention. At first, I was offended (not that I have anything interesting to say... still...), but it occured to me that the reason her attention kept drifting is that people kept walking by with their dogs! So I said, "Are those ALL clients of yours?" and she said, "No, but I know every dog in Astoria. The ones I'm not friends with - I'd like to be." And that's Farrah for you. She eyes animals she doesn't yet know the way a photographer views landscapes (or me, burger places). She doesn't see dogs on the street and then potential dollar signs, she sees dogs on the street as potential friends. Lastly, I've never seen Farrah be anything short of completely committed when she's with a client's pet. While her attention may have been divided with ME (a human - so I'm told), I have never seen it divided from anyone's beloved animal. And that's the way it SHOULD be. Farrah is an excellent care taker of pets. She has watched them many times for us and never lets us down. We've asked Farrah to do some not-so-usual things and she follows them to the letter. My wife and I have two cats, one of which is a special needs animal. Our eldest cat has some issues with mobility. You actually have to pick her up, place her in the litter box, and pet her till she urinates. Farrah is the only other person to have performed this task, and I might add, with an exceptional outcome. When we get a dog, I want a pit and my wife wants a French bulldog (we'll see how that turns out...) we are definitely having her walk the dog and of course CAT & DOG SIT while were away. My dog Nigel loves Farrah (okay, I love her, too)! My boyfriend and I used her dog walking services for a few months this past spring while my boyfriend was working unusually long hours. When we first called, she arranged to come over to our house to meet us and Nigel. She is very pleasant and it's clear that she loves what she does. I have an old lady cat with health issues and a rowdy boy cat with attitude issues (see profile picture.) Farrah paid them two visits a day while I was away for the weekend and gave the old lady her medication. I realized I was going to be late getting home and emailed asking Farrah to give the meds that morning. She had no problem doing so. She also emailed while I was away just to let me know they were fine, which means a lot when you have a pet with health problems. She has been available on very short notice and for any and many unpredictable lengths, which my travel has sometimes required. I really can't say enough good things about Farrah's company! Our dogwalker, Emily, is super sweet and reliable. We noticed a difference in our dog's demeanor almost overnight -- he's so much less stressed and hyper when we get home from work. My two shihtzu's look forward to Sara's walks every day. She is amazing with them. They are calmer than ever when I come home, she got my 13 yr old walking up the stairs again, they don't go to the bathroom in the apartment anymore, and she always fills up the water bowl and asks if there's anything else that needs to be done. I don't think I will be hiring Farrah again, but I gave three stars because my cat was still alive and well when I got home. I will give the basic pros & cons of my experience. PROS: - I gave Farrah very short notice (a day and a half) and she saved me and was able to cat sit over the upcoming weekend. - She is friendly. - None of my belongings were missing (she did come off as being trustworthy, but thought this is worth mentioning because this was my initial concern about letting a stranger into my apartment while I was out of town). CONS: That being said, the reason why I won't hire her again is because I was gone for 4 days, and I returned to an apartment that wreaked of kitty litter when I returned. Instead of taking the soiled litter out to the garbage, she left the 4 days worth of soiled litter in an open bag and left it on top of the litter box. It was pretty disgusting. I didn't think I had to instruct her to throw away the soiled litter every day (isn't that a given?). The smell was so strong that it greeted me outside the front door of my apartment. My advice to Farrah would be to be respectful of the clients apartments. It's just bad business otherwise, especially in her field since it takes a lot of trust to let someone into your apartment while you're away. read more

We trust our cats with no one else. Farrah is the best--she is the Pet Whisperer! She will make multiple visits in a day (whatever makes us comfortable), feed and play with our cats for up to an hour, is incredibly affordable, and 100% reliable. We have a 16 month old Russian Blue and a 4 month old Domestic Shorthair; they are so particular, but both LOVE Farrah. And so do we. We recommend Farrah to every pet owner we know. read more

Farrah is amazing with ALL animals - she truly has a gift. She has watched my cats on numerous occasions when I was out of town. Unlike having a friend come in and scoop/feed them and run, she stays for at least a half hour every visit so that she can play with them and give them affection. Farrah is AWESOME. She has been our dog walker for the last year and a half, and we are now moving. We wish we could take her with us! Farrah gave our dog Sadie such great love and care--I'll never forget when I ran into her on the street when I was giving Sadie a walk.
